Goodness this food is delicious! The place is a hole in the wall and has horrible ambience, but this is probably the best burger in Los Angeles that isn’t in n out. The Crenshaw burger is phenomenal and the tacos are delicious. Can’t wait to try some other stuff on the menu. oh yea, it’s very inexpensive.

I’ve been stuck on Daddy Dave’s cooking for years! He’s an amazing cook. They take call in orders and they’re One of the only restaurants that delivers in the area! Taco are BOGO every day and they’re a nice size. The fried chicken is better then Roscos’s any day!

Dave have been here for a very long time. The food is good. And he also caters events. Daddy Dave is a place that gives you good home cook type meal.

Daddy Dave’s is great! As with most spots in the District I suggest you call ahead once you have a handle on the menu. Watch where you park though since Crenshaw is a tow-away zone in the afternoons-evenings. I recommend the beef tacos, filled with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese, these hit the spot for a quick lunch. You can’t go wrong, so order away, chicken wings and fries to breakfast, all of it is on-point. My overall favorite has to be the Crenshaw Burger. A large beef or turkey patty on Texas toast topped with cheese, grilled onions, and turkey bacon, it’s screaming! Trust me. Best to eat there to avoid the bread getting soggy from the toppings and juice from from the burger!

Great soul food, if that’s the right word for it. We spent the afternoon in front of it waiting for the Space Shuttle, Endeavor, to pass(was 5 hours late). A couple locals who we met out front took us in there. My wife had pancakes, eggs, turkey sausage AND bacon. Was surprisingly good. A couple guys were playing chess and one of the locals said, «if you don’t like anything on the menu you order, I’ll pay for it». Sure kinda grimy, but that’s half the charm. The chicken fingers were very good.

It’s a place I don’t think I would ever order food from judging by it’s lack of good looks and ambience. It’s a fuh sho’ hood spot. A friend of mine was eating a Turkey Burger and fries from there one day. I took a bite of his and I just couldn’t wait to go there and get my own! The Turkey Burger is your basic perfectly seasoned, simple, and lean Turkey Burger with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion on a white bun(they don’t have wheat). The fries were really good and suprisingly sprinkled with parsley. I live in the Leimert area and this is my top choice for a turkey burger — to me its better than Fatburger and Earl’s. The Turkey Burger is soooo goood that I can’t imagine that Daddy Dave’s menu has something better.(Yes the restaurant is named after him and I think he does ALL the cooking on his feet from breakfast — dinner). I think the place is closed on Mondays. Not sure though.

Yes Daddy Dave’s could use some décor and security j/k but he can cook his short ass off. I usually get the Sir Special(turkey sausage and turkey bacon with eggs, cheese and toast made into a sandwich.) It comes with home fries. His turkey bacon burger is good and his chicken strips dinner with mashed potatos and gravy as well. I would usually turn right out of a place like this but I’ve been going since they first opened and Dave and Reggie know me by name. Drove by today and Reggie saw me on busy ass Crenshaw and yelled out to me. Good people, good food, just hood.

Yes, it’s ghetto as all hell. But you can’t deny the fact that Dave makes a mean ass turkey burger and cajun chicken sandwich! And his spicy fries and sweet lemonade??? Stop playing, you know it’s good. I think he uses a mixture of cayenne pepper and parsley flakes to season his freshly cut fries. Bomb. The place is pretty rundown, but I never felt like they were filthy in the way that they run their kitchen or with how well they clean their dining area. When I’m in the neighborhood(usually for the King Day Parade or the Taste of Soul), I always slide by to enjoy a down home meal from Daddy Dave’s. It’s the shiznit.

This is one of the filthiest restaurants I’ve ever been in. The food was tasty, but the business was sooooo dirty, I just can’t trust the food. He lets everyone walk in the kitchen, even people who don’t work there. Daddy Dave’s should be called«Dirty Dave’s».
