Da Poetry Lounge

This is quite contagious. Maybe I’m a nerd. Regardless, come Tuesday nights, get here early and stand in line (I know, I know… standing in line sucks donkey, but you gotta check this out at least once). The place gets PACKED. And to see this amount of people get together to show their support for the spoken word, for the stage, is nothing short of thrilling. Supported by the Greenway Arts Alliance, Da Poetry Lounge has quickly become the largest weekly open mic event in the country, providing an important forum for personal expression. And once a month, Da Poetry Lounge holds «slams» (competitions), with the opportunity to compete on the Hollywood Slam team both regionally and nationally. YOU NEVER KNOW. Hehehe.
