So this place has really delicious catfish and oysters, literally cooked to perfection; nothing slimy or too greasy. Collard greens are everything, and the peach cobbler is amazing, as well. My ONLY complaint are the serving sizes. I got about 6 small pieces of shrimp and fries for the price of an entire meal. I would be willing to pay a little extra for larger servings. Definitely not filing, which is a shame because it’s really good.

Don’t go there if your REALLY hungry. The fish was seasoned very well, but their portions suck! I got the Filet of Sole dinner and was less than pleased. Again, taste was delicious but the pieces of fish were damn near transparent they were so thin. Called my order in and got there within the 15 min ready time and my food was still cold. The potato salad is the bomb, but everything else was less than average. They don’t give you enough food, plain and simple. If you want good fish and your in the area, just go around the corner to WORLD SEAFOOD. They give you so much food you can’t even eat it all. After I finished with the CW Crisp plate, I sat there pissed off and still hungry.
Customer service was wonderful, but that done help my hunger pains though.

I recently found out about this place and I can tell you I’m sorry I did not know about it years ago. The fried chicken and fish are the bomb. I suggest you try this restaurant if you are ever in the neighborhood. They cook fried chicken the way my late grandmother cooked it. Golden brown crunchy on the outside and delicious on the inside.

I ordered the (2 item combo) catfish, shrimp and potato salad. It was all extremely good all the way down to the bread. I especially loved that the fish was fresh and not greasy. The only thing I wish, is that I would’ve ordered more.

Been eating here for at least 7 years or so. The food is out of this world. Every time we go we splurge because it’s that good. Family size potato salad! Hella Sole! Hella Catfish! Shrimp! And Hella Hush Puppies! Who still says hella?! But for real! The food is bomb! Put the potato salad on your fish and drop some hot sauce on it… You’re welcome! The potato salad is not your average. It’s more of a mashed potato salad with not much liquid mayo stuff! Not slimy at all! And don’t let the texture fool you, it’s not dry either! Everything here is flavorful! Fresh and made to order! Always Hot! I’ve never had a problem eating here! The staff is great as well! Very friendly! Just a few pointers for those that have never been on this side of town. (In reference to other reviews) I would say if you’re not comfortable call in your order so you can just pick it up. It’s really nothing to worry about. I’m more concerned with the barbershop and car wash crowd next door than this place. A lot goes on over there.

People are sleeping on this hole in the wall. The food is bomb just straight hood fried chicken and fish, even the sides are good. It reminds me of the way my mom cooks. And the girls are just friendly, great customer service. My favorite fried chicken place by far

Place is good and I live close by, so I do come in at times. But if I were to be honest, I like honey kettle in Culver City a little more. Everything is good here, but it doesn’t wow me, and I actually prefer a little grease on my fried chicken.

They don’t clean their shrimp… I noticed the fried poop trail on mine… the fried chicken was seasoned well but undercooked… the fried catfish was decent but definitely not even close to the best I’ve ever tried… greens were bland but the potato salad was great! I wish they would have given me more potato salad… overall I probably won’t be back!

This is the best chicken & fish in the west. Its in tha hood but great service and food. I give it a great review.

Loved this place actually traveled 30 mins to get here and wasn’t disappointed ! The fish shrimp and fries were seasoned deliciously OMG I will definitely be coming back. Everything was fresh and wait wasn’t long !

Wow this is pretty good food! It’s my 3^rd time in this place and I always get the same thing Chicken, Shrimp,&catfish can’t forget the coleslaw! Fries were fries its eat it!

$ 8 bucks gets you a spoonful of potato salad and like 4 pieces of catfish. Not a hometown price.

I had never heard of this place and grew up in the area
but thank goodness that my FB buddies like to share good
eating spots.
I am HOOKED on the fried chicken as it is full of flavor
and not greasy. The greens are also delish as well
as the fish but can’t say enough about the chicken as
it has that old school Southern flava !!!
You know, the kind your mama made for those long
road trips to visit your people in Mississippi or Louisiana.
Oh yes, that old school feeling is simply WONDERFUL.

Bomb!!! Chris is such a sweetheart. Again another black owned business in the community that we need to continue to support. I love the potato salad, the rolls, the fried shrimp and snapper! It is not salty or dry at all.
You can always call ahead or walk in, and you will rarely have to wait. Seriously check them out!

A few years ago I swore off Catfish because of bad experience eating it from somewhere else. I decided to give CW & Chris Fish spot a try and I absolutely love the food here! The catfish is always fresh and delicous, made to order! The shrimp, sole, and french fries are all good as well. I have yet to try the chicken but I love this place. I go here all the time!

The chicken wings Are GOOD! MY Families been coming here for years and they’re always consistent. The potatoe salad Is delicious and I really never order that when I’m out.
No frills tho, definitely a hood spot cuz you’re ordering thru that bullet proof window lol!

I found it! My ex-​boyfriend brought me here years ago… then it won the Hoodie Awards! Yet I never remembered the name or the location.
I just picked up a job in the neighborhood, Unilocaled a good lunch place near, and here it is! I’m estatic!
This fish is good. The chicken is good. The sides are good. The place is clean. Good service with a smile. What else could you ask for? Even good prices. 5 stars all the way!
