Avoid this doctor and avoid Iris Cantor Women’s Health UCLA! Dr. Mattimore’s Office is disorganized on so many levels. I am a generally healthy person, and yet I encounter so many issues with this office. I cannot imagine what it would be like to have to work with this office if I had any major health concerns. Please do yourself a favor and find another office/​doctor. Overcharges that took 6 months to resolve (the office would double charge me), many unpleasant staff members (despite my attempts to empathize and cooperate), constantly dropping the ball when it came to referrals/​imaging/​et al (the office would not send paperwork, or would send me to the wrong offices, et al), and worse of all, the office staff were dishonest with me (the Dr. Mattimore office staffer told me that my dentist would not send images to Dr. Mattimore’s office, when I called my dentist, they told me that was untrue and sent images as I requested). I have now changed my primary care physician.

Dr. Mattimore is one of the worst doctors I have ever encountered. Because I have a number of health issues, I’ve dealt with probably 100 doctors so that’s saying a lot. She was assigned as my primary care physician so I didn’t have a choice for a year and had to continue seeing her.
When I asked her simple questions she kept saying she would need to ask her husband who also works at UCLA. WHAT?! This is 2014 and you are supposedly a trained doctor, working at one of the country’s best health systems, yet you have to ask your husband about simple questions?! Way to make me feel confident.
I know most doctors run late but in all my times seeing Dr. Mattimore, she saw me at least 1+ hour after my appointment time. To make matters worse, when I finally was able to switch doctors, my new doctor told me Dr. Mattimore took no notes that I had anemia and therefore I had to wait months to receive iron treatments because of Dr. Mattimore’s lack of documentation or thorough note taking. Avoid this doctor — while she may be pleasant enough you may be putting your health at risk by seeing her.

Dr. Crystal Mattimore is one of the worst physicians I have ever encountered. She calls herself a primary care provider, but she’s not comfortable managing even the simplest primary care issues. She always wants to refer everything to a specialist! I have very mild eczema and she referred me to Dermatology (w/​out even offering a topical steroid, which is the standard first line therapy). Today, she wanted to refer me to ENT b/​c I have ear wax! I wish I could say I was exaggerating, but sadly, I’m not. Also, she’s always running late (I left her clinic at 1pm today, my appointment was for 11am), her bedside manner is extremely poor (she just stares at the computer the whole time, instead of making eye contact), and I’m not at all confident in her diagnostic abilities (she was supposedly listening to my lungs today, but her stethoscope was over my scapula). The only reason I’m giving two stars instead of one is b/​c the front desk and the nurses there are all extremely friendly and professional. But, obviously, you don’t choose your doctor based on the receptionist. Which is why I’ll be switching to a different MD for my primary care.
