Are libraries funded by local taxes, or is it that the County simply couldn’t care less about the ‘hood? This library is a joke: it’s a storefront in a strip mall and it’s tiny, really tiny. There are three tables to sit at besides the computer tables, and no outlets anywhere for laptops(wifi is available). The book selection, as you may have guessed, is awful; there’s a kids section, a teens section, a small area of books in Spanish, and then a few shelves of other books. The librarians don’t bother using library-volume voices and the library is so small, there’s no way to sit far enough away. I don’t think there are public restrooms. Having a library is better than not having one, but obviously, nobody cares if Compton’s residents gets what other cities’ residents get. And that pisses me off.
