Wow! the Peruvian chicken is amazing! Very few can pull the right flavors on the white meat. This place can really make good Pollo A La Brasa. Their catering business is extremely professional, convenient and efficient! Thank you Coppelia’s. We will come back!

This place is amazing. I was driving by because I was looking for a Rosca and the bakery I use to get it from closed. I walked in here and was immediately greeted by Ernesto. The Rosca was still in the oven so we ended up having chilaquiles that were delicious.

I love Coppelias– I’ve been a customer since they were located across the street in the shopping center off Overland. There cakes are good quality and are fresh and decadent. They now sell food since they remodeled a bit. I spoke with owner and we connected on that fact that we both have bulldogs. I used them for a photo cake a few months ago for my son’s birthday– he wanted a picture of himself with his doggy(bulldog). They did a great job– only problem is that their prices keep on rising. Overall I love Coppelias they do a great job making great pastries.

I love a good breakfast and I always have just that here. In addition to all the standard breakfast items they always offer daily specials. Today I enjoyed Hot Link Picado. Delish! Good value, nice staff and free parking in the back. Soon I will try their bakery items that look awesome! I say stop by and enjoy…

OMG all these lies about this restaurant, what bunch of crap, about the cakes and all, I know the owners for the last 5 yrs and they been there for the last 29 yrs as owners. the cakes are baked there. I know for a few months there was a nasty lady, I think Susan, that’s why I’m not surprise for the bunch of negative comments, it;‘s really sad that some worthless people are attacking a established business with damn lies about the cakes. I wish the real owners good luck and all the best.

The owner is terrible, she buys cakes at Costco and then sells them like she baked them. The owner also has some issues with the health department … The food can be good but not worth the hassle and fraud of the lady who owns the place. Don’t waste your money here!!!

Place under went a change of ownership and the customer service and quality have tanked. Very sad because this was a great place to go and a hidden gem for weekend brunch. Apparently the partner was pushed out of the business and I’m assuming that’s where the quality went out the window. Looks like I’m going elsewhere for breakfast… 26 Beach here I come… Or Denny’s. The owner here is super rude and I refuse to give my money to bad quality service!

I can no long support this establishment. BOYCOTTTHISBUSINESS. Almost all those cakes are store bought. The empanadas are made by someone else as well amongst other issues I have with this place.

Unfortunately, Coppelia’s is now under different ownership and it’s just not the same. Don’t bother wasting your time or money.

This morning I went to this restaurant for breakfast, big mistake. I ordered an omelette with bacon, cheese & avacado. I can not eat carbs as I am diabetic, so I asked them to substitute the potatoes & toast with fruit. They said they could do tht, but it would cost me $ 2.00 more. The only substitute I could get without paying extra, was sliced tomatoes. The omelette was already $ 9+, so I thought tht was very unfair, but ordered the tomatoes anyway. When the food arrived, I was very underwhelmed! The omelette was full of cheese that wasn’t even melted all the way and they had not put the avacado inside the omelette, but sliced over the top. I had to eat as my blood sugar was low. The more I cut into it, I saw tht more than half the avacado was black!!! Disgusting food! Will never eat there again!!!

This is a great hidden gem. The breakfast food is incredible and the staff is super friendly giving the place a small town diner feel to it. I personally love the biscuits and gravy. They were also nice enough to customize a breakfast for my fiancé. We call it The Mark: Hash browns and fries, slathered in delicious gravy, topped with grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, avocado, and three sunny side up eggs and a side of sausage.

Popped in here this morning… lured by the empanadas and Quatro Très Leche! Easy parking in their private parking lot behind the store. The restaurant sign is a bit hard to catch driving by, if it’s your first time. Going Westbound on Venice, turn right on Westwood Blvd. at Café Brasil(can’t miss this one, colorful restaurant!). Tried a few empanadas and of course the cake: $ 1.50/ea beef empanadas $ 2/ea chicken $ 4.75 Très Leches by the slice. Quattro is the 3-layer Très Leches with caramel. I prefer the beef empanadas, tastier and moister than the chicken. Oh My! Love love their Quattro Très Leaches! Thinking of getting a whole cake here for next occasion. So much closer than trekking over to Burbank/Glendale for Pirto’s cake that had been my go-to thus far. Anybody who knows me well, know how much I love my Porto’s cakes and potato balls, haha! At first bite and still working my way through this slice as I write up this review… I would even venture to say I like it more than the Porto’s Très Leches for the following reasons: 1) Not cloyingly sweet, just the right amount of condensed milk sweetness to soaked cake ratio. 2) Big bonus for the huge slice vs. the tiny super soaked sweet mini cake from Porto’s. 3) No long line to wait for at least 15mins, huge bonus points! 4) Last but not least, love the 3 layers of cake & what’s not to swoon with perfectly whipped Whipped Cream layers with beautiful Caramel topping! Okidokie, I’ll stop here and finish my Quattro Très Leches ^_^ with my Peet’s coffee.

AMAZING! I use to live fairly close and was so excited to find such delicious cakes! And you can order same day, what a relief! I moved to valley few months ago and needed a cake never thought twice where I would get my cake! I got the tres leche and the strawberry. My mouth waters just thinking about it. I’m happy when people don’t finish all the cake then I can have more later during the week lol I haven’t tried their food yet though, one day…

If you were a hang out and eater at Pepe’s you will feel like your at home here. There are a lot of the staff here. The food is decent and the staff are nice. I had the roasted chicken. it was nothing spectacular but was decent. For me it needed a little more moisture and heat. I will be back.

Do you miss Pepe’s Galley? Come by Coppelia’s to see the old crew! Milly, Ernie, Erika & the chefs are here now. The menu is more expansive, and there are plenty of places to sit(including outside). There is parking in the back if you don’t want to fight for a spot on Venice Blvd. You can pretty much order anything on or off the menu(including some old Pepe’s classics like pork chops picado), and you will get service with a smile! You also will get greeted with a smile. I really enjoyed the chorizo breakfast burrito, and I recently had the yummy chilaquiles in green salsa. I’m honestly surprised this place isn’t busier. The food and service are wonderful. That said, it’s a little tough to find. Just look for Café Brasil, and Coppelia’s in one block east of there. I can’t wait to try dessert because the cakes look incredible. I’ll definitely be back!

Attention Mar Vista/Venice locals: Remember Pepy’s Galley in the Mar Vista Bowl, corner of Grand View and Venice? Well, the cooks from Pepy’s moved over to Coppelia’s when Pepy retired and now are the cooks here. Also, several of Pepy’s Galley servers are here, too. I had heard rumors about this place, but didn’t get the full name until a short while back. Last time I was in L.A., I couldn’t remember the name. Today, I got another head’s up and visited. OMG. It was like a reunion. Three folks who worked at Pepy’s and whom were like family to me were there(Ernie, Erica and Sergio). [I had been a very frequent and long time customer of Pepy’s]. The menu is breakfast and lunch, only. However, I was told that come October, the restaurant will be open for dinner with a new menu that will include new dinner items. I was also told that the restaurant changed ownership about six months ago, that it was redecorated(see my picture) and the food preparation effort was adjusted for the better. Either way, it didn’t much matter to me because today, I ordered and ate one of my favorite breakfast dishes from the now closed Pepy’s Galley that was on the«specials board:» Chicken Machaca(see my picture). Wow. Soooo good. I’m looking forward to trying their other dishes as soon as I can get back here. BTW, the restaurant is connected in some form or fashion to the bakery, but I understand the ownership is bifurcated. Having said that, the restaurant sells bakery items from a cold case behind the service counter.(See my picture). From reading some of the more recent reviews, apparently the Tres Leches cake is the bomb. I would have tried it, but I’m still«low carbing.» Parking is no problem. They have a big private lot in the back with easy access from westbound Venice Blvd(right/NB turn on Westwood Blvd).

I wanted to have flan becase the article I saw last week said they have the best flan… so I got there said fir here, the waitress brought me water… this is my first time here. I looked thru menu and they only have breakfast pancakes… I want real food(it’s 1 pm) so I said you know what I’m just gonna get desserts can I have 2 flan togo. The waitress walked back to kitchen saying she’ll check if they have it. Then another woman came up to me «how can I help you?» I was… what? Somebody is helping me already… So I saw the first woman… I asked her aren’t you helping with the flan? She said she’s gonna help you with flan. So I told the 2nd lady again I want 2 flan togo. She’s speaking slowly… ummm flan… is…in…the…oven… And I was like… what? U have it or not. She said… yes but will out later… I ask… how late… when is your later. Then she said… slowly again… not sure why… she has to whisper, she said a r o u n d 5… Are you fricking kidding me ? Boooooo

Hidden little breakfast gem on Venice Blvd. Seated quickly and had drinks brought quickly as well. For the tea drinkers out there they had a great selection of tea available. I ordered the eggs and sausage. Eggs were cooked as asked and the sausages were nice and juicy. The home potatoes were tasty and the pancakes were light and fluffy. They have homemade salsa on the table which was very yummy. Only issue was that the toast came out about 5 mins after all the rest of the food. Otherwise, great service, great food, and great prices! Also, parking in the back is a super super plus.

Cuatro leches cake, where have you been all my life?! I’d definitely recommend this to anyone with a sweet tooth. It’s perfectly made. Very moist, not to sweet, and the cream is fluffy and thick. This one got devoured in a few minutes between my sister and I. The triple chocolate cake is a chocolate lover’s dream. I decided to take this one home where I could eat it with milk because the chocolatey goodness was too much to handle solo haha. Great desserts but the prices are hiiigh. $ 4.75 slice of tres leches $ 5.75 slice of triple chocolate cake It’s okay if you want to splurge every now and then on dessert if you’re in the area. Unfortunately, it’s not really in my way and it’s a bit expensive so I probably won’t be visiting again soon.
