Deeeeelllllliiiissssshhhhh!!! I had them cater a party a while back and now stalk them every time they do a pop up. Yum yum yum. Their yellow sauce I have no idea what is in it but I could drink it’s that good.

The name is ComidaLA. And they are that moment when your high expectations are all exceeded. I had fallen in love with arepas, and was so giddy to finally try ComidaLA. And it was even better than I imagined! The freshly grilled dough was perfect, a little crisp, and also chewy. And did I say freshly grilled dough?! And the fillings — really great flavors. I got the pork, chicken and veggie (mushrooms and potatoes that night!). They were all really well made, just excellent. I was inhaling them and had to make myself slow down.
I got a combo, which is two arepas plus cole slaw, and rice with pinto beans. Those beans were great, creamy, firm, delicious. Plus I got an extra arepa. I was really full. I wanted to get all the arepas. I want to eat them again, right now.
Also, I like that their arepas are not too large, so that you try different ones. Especially since I just want to eat them all.

My husband hit the jackpot when he found the Comida crew on Unilocal.We have been dreaming of arepas since our recent trip to Venezuela, and as a result of my vocal daily longing for these savory little pockets of heaven, he decided to surprise me with trip through LA to find these guys. As we embarked upon their humble yet genius operation, I nearly shed a tear as a 7 month dream was about to come true. With five different arepa options on the menu, we sampled each one they make, times 2. That’s right…10 arepas, 2 people. The food was incredibly delicious, the crew fronting the operation was incredibly cool, and we have now decided to make it a Sunday tradition to track these guys every weekend (their website can link you to their facebook page) to indulge our arepa obsession. If you’ve never had an arepa before, definitely find them and find out what you’ve been missing. A+

Someone’s a f’ing genius and brought this goodness to a cart and now its available for all the kitties in the land. Ive had them 3 times now. Always delicious and fresh. Their setup is efficient, clean, and perfect for events. *Grilled cheese on secret menu is whats up*

I didn’t even know what an arepa was! But now I dream of them… Oh those fluffy stuffed pockets of heaven! They have chicken, beef and pork and they are sooo good. I can’t even decide which one is better you need to try them all! I always get one of each and I’m never sorry!
The sauces are insane, the ingredients are super fresh! So good! The staff are really friendly, they even made a kid plate that my 2 year old loved!
I need them to open a place soon so I can go anytime I want!

I can’t get enough. They catered an event I went to and I was in heaven. Born and raised in LA I am picky about great Mexican food and they are at the top.

I have never had an arepa before but after having their food on a few occasions I am hooked.
This is the type of place you stop what you’re doing and go find them. No matter where they are.
The food is fresh and super tasty.
I literally couldn’t get enough. Not to mention the fact that is is gluten free and you can get protein plates if you’re trying to be real good.

I have eaten their food many many times and it is amazing every time. The arenas are to die for and their secret homemade sauces are the best part.

There! I said it. I made the arepa joke everyone thinks about but is too embarrassed to say.
I could devote about 10,000 words about their magic sauce and how delicious their food is but you really should try it for yourself.

The food is amazing. It’s some of the best pork I’ve ever had. Get a grilled cheese, it’ll blow your mind. (on the secret menu, Shhhh)
The staff are really great an make it a really fun experience.
I can’t wait for the next pop up.
Tip: get to them early because the food is so good it will and has sold out.
