It’s an experience. Go! Order everything on the menu. The only reason it gets 1 star off is that they aren’t always open when I’m in the area. I usually get to roll through after a night out. Basically, they would have more of my money if they had more hours they are open. I think what these cats have going on is fantastic. The late night hours until 3am is a plus. No more roscoes or pantry. This is my new spot since summer last year.

This place is okay I don’t think it’s amazing. I only had the corn bread my friends had the wings. They said the wings where pretty good, but 1 dollar for each wing is way too much even though it organic. I think they should serve fried chicken instead, seems like they’re trying to be different. Overall I didn’t like it, but I’ll give them another chance.

I really enjoyed my dinner. I will be coming back for more when I’m in downtown LA.

Seriously delicious! I truly think these are some of the best collard greens I have EVER had. The sauce on the chicken has the perfect hint of heat and the candied yams are simply awesome. My new favorite comfort food! Thank you.

That’s the best chicken wings place in DTLA. If your looking to grab some midnight snack look no further. Though I don’t suggest to walk on foot from Downtown.

Chicken is very fresh organic free range chicken wings the hot sauce is very good nothing like wings top their wings are very flavorful and have a lot of meat on the bones. This place has an awesome atmosphere the staff was extremely friendly the menu is simple and by it being simple they’re able to pay close attention to detail in the quality of their items they serve. We tried the mac and cheese and greens both were good and the fact that they’re open until 3am wow this is the new after the club spot for some good comfort food it wasn’t super heavy and greasy but very flavorful and filling try it out for yourself.

There’s a Goodie Mob song called Soul Food the spirt in which that song was created lives in the food these guys are making. The Mac and Cheese is the BEST Mac & Cheese I’ve had in LA. Hands down, it’s the Mac & Cheese I knew growing up. *personal tip, buy a side of «That Sauce» and add it to Mac & Cheese. It only adds to the perfection. These dudes are legit. It’s beautiful to see them rocking. Also they have one of the most gorgeous mirrors and lightning fixture in there restroom. They don’t make french fries, that’s ok, they sell AMAZING Mac & Cheese.

I really wanted this to be my new favorite place. It came close. However, the overall meal was mediocre. The $ 12 dinner plate, with 5 chicken wings and two sides and cornbread, seemed like a great deal, but was too good to be true. The chicken wings themselves are very tasty. Crispy and covered in a delicious sauce, that is sweet and gingery, with the right amount of spice. Wings are the only chicken on the menu, and these are very tiny. So five didn’t quite hit the spot. Small wings could have been remedied by the cornbread and sides, but they too lacked in size. The cornbread was two square inches, one or too bites at best. The macaroni and cheese is probably the second, in taste, to the chicken wings, but you won’t get very much. The greens were disappointing. Sweet, instead of the usual slightly bitter taste, that is accompanied by the flavor of whichever meet is used in there preparation. This new take on greens was not pleasing to me. My three star rating is due to the undeniably tasty chicken. But I was not satisfied after finishing a meal, which doesn’t seem to be aiming to fill you up. Strange for a place with«comfort» in it’s title. Try this place when you want just a little taste of soul food.

LLLOOOVVEEEDDDITT !! Location: interesting. probably a hit among hipsters Food: DELICIOUS. the chicken + sauce was AMAZEBALLS Price: average; not too pricey This food was really comforting; as I ate it, I was able to just relax… enjoy the 90’s oldies playing & eat my food while laughing at the highlights of week the guys who run it seem super cool & funny i honestly only short them one star because i think some hand battered fries would really complete the meal & i wasn’t a fan of the cornbread + i prefer flats those are my only real complaints please go late night creep & enjoy this food SERIOUSLY

After eating here after a few nights out on the town I am ready to make my review. I am all in for thease guys. The sauce is phenomenal! The greens are my favorite greens because it has an interesting sweet spicy blend like the wings. The service is amazing. The owners are always there, and very polite. The young lady who works the window always gives excellent service. For it to typically be 2am when I roll in their service is always up beat. This is a a tiny gem with the younger generation making their own mark. Big ups to them

Pulled up to this gem around 2:30 am on a Friday and it was lit! We came in a group and decided to order 18 wings, large size greens, yams and mac&cheese. ALL of the food was on point. The wings had the perfect crunch/juiciness and the sauce was bomb. The greens were on the sweeter side(also delicious) and the mac& cheese was the perfect compliment. The only after hours spot you should be at if you are in the DTLA area. BIGUPS!

I arrived in LAX around 12am after a week away from home and my hubby. He asked me what I wanted to eat, and I told him I wanted chicken wings, haha. We went Comfort LA in DTLA which closes around 3am. It was in a sketchy, quiet part of town, but we didn’t care, we were hungry. We ordered our food outside through a window; We had two orders of the chicken plates, which came with cornbread, mac and cheese, collard greens, and rice and beans. Everything was super delicious… however I wasn’t a big fan of the collard greens but hubby loved it. We also had a «gingerade», which was ginger ale and orange juice. Wow! What a refreshing combination. We chowed down at the tables outside, with nice chill music in the background and christmas lights flickering. We also got to talk with the owners as well, who were real chill. It was a good night to be back in Los Angeles, thanks guys.

Finally decided to try this place today. The food was delicious. The greens were on point. Chicken was tasty and very crispy like I like. It was fresh too, I saw them prepared it. Even the Mac and cheese was good. I only have too complaints. 1) My cornbread was way too small. It was tiny. 2) The Wait. I pre-ordered 15 mins before they opened at 3pm. I waited 15 mins after my pick up time just to give them time in case they were setting up. I get there around 3:20pm. I’m told to wait 12 mins. I leave to find a rest room, and come back around 3:35. Still not ready… In short everything was good but the wait.

Comfort LA is A-okay. Had this place bookmarked after reading about it. Came here to pick up some food so I could finally try it! It’s literally an order window half a block down from Reyna’s. Place your order at the window — everyone is super friendly and having fun inside. They bring the order out to you if you’re eating there. There’s a spacious parking lot right behind Comfort where they’ve set up some tables and chairs — but its very dark! So you’re basically eating in the dark… We brought ours home to eat. My main complaint is that the portions were so small! For the $ 12 dinner special, you get 5 chicken wings, two sides and a tiny piece of cornbread. The sides were just okay, I wasn’t a fan of the collard greens(too sweet?) or the mac and cheese(too dry). The chicken was tasty and had a nice sauce at the bottom, you just don’t get very much of it :((( Will not be back.

The. Best. Chicken. And. Waffles. Ever! Nothing even comes close to the food, not to mention the great service and friendly, welcoming attitude, that you get when you come here. I ordered a Mexican coke and their chicken and waffles. Yeah I know the Mexican coke isn’t one of their originals, but it was my first time and it just made the experience better. When the main course came out, ooh whee! It looked fresher than anything. Their chicken pieces with their perfect batter on top of their seasoned waffle looked and tasted like heaven on earth. I now know why they have their larger portions(aka their 100 piece Go Big or Go Home meal). The workers are the best to talk to, and are always trying to make your experience as best as they can. I have to say, this has been one of the best places I’ve eaten at.

Love these guys, this spot & these eats. Stopped by at 2am on a Saturday night for fried chicken, greens, mac n cheese, cornbread and gingerade. The cornbread didn’t do much for me, but everything else left me with this big cheesy grin on my face. They’re open Friday and Saturday nights, Sunday’s earlier(with chicken n waffles), and do catering during the week. I’ll be back!

Just because today is National Chicken Wing Day(July 29th) I’m going to write this review based on some of the best wings I’ve ever tasted. I’ve had this joint bookmarked since it opened because I was spending my bday in LA and this was a place that I was determined to get to come hell or high water and I did. So I should start off by saying that I’ve been a vegetarian for almost 3 years and broke my non meat eating tradition by tasting these wings and it was so so so worth it! The skin of the wing was crisp with a deliciously seasoned slight crunch, while the meat of the chicken was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. All of those flavors and textures in my mouth from tasting that one wing had caused my taste buds to slowly erupt to the point of climax begging for more. Not wanting to deprive them of complete tasty satisfaction what did I do??? I ate more… I just couldn’t stop. The combination of the hot sauced covered wings and sweet syrupy waffles all in my mouth at the same time almost caused me to blow my top, but I kept my composure and just kept devouring all that soul cooked goodness. Everything was so good. I washed it all down with that homemade gingerade and left ready to return to my hotel for a well deserved nap. Yep, that meal made the«–itus» kick in real quick. Now let’s talk about the service. I was greeted with the warmest welcome from everyone and helped immediately. Jeremy himself is so sweet and friendly. In person, just one flash of that smile that I’ve been seeing on Black & Sexy(babbbby) TV had made me break my non chicken wing eating stint, but then again, I couldn’t write an honest review if I didn’t eat those wings. There’s nothing like a man in the kitchen! If I lived in LA, I would honestly probably be by here every few weeks to get my secret chicken wing fix on. Damn, I can’t stop thinking of those wings…

I rate businesses on three factors, 1. Customer service 2. Value for the $$ spent on the product 3. Food taste I’m giving them 5 stars on all 3. We went early after ordering ahead of time and were delighted by hot delicious food. I’m not a huge fan of fried chicken nor bones but did I order an additional order of wings to go? Yes, I sure did order another 6 wings to go! Indeed the food was worthy. It’s not the oily should that one is used too but the decision to make it healthier is a good one especially since I’ll probably make a habit out of coming here. The staff brought out food out to our table out back and checked on our satisfaction of everything more than once. The orange ginger drink was surprising superb! I took what I didn’t use home to refrigerate and used some in a smoothie the next day since it was so rich with real ginger. We left full but didn’t catch the itis. More lighting in the back would have aloud us to take more pictures of our food. The staff was kind enough to grant our request to take pictures since my fiancé and I are both Black and Sexy TV supporters and fans. We’ll be back with more people on a Sunday to try the chicken & waffles. I went back on a Sunday with a friend for the chicken and waffles and let me tell you this, these are not your typical chicken and waffles from any other place you have been too. Cornbread chicken and waffles! Cornbread goes with chicken much better than regular waffles. This is now my favorite meal from here.

Dare I say, best soul food in Los Angeles? YES! You guys, this is a real hidden gem nestled in DTLA. The service here is phenomenal — everyone is super nice and they really make you feel like you’re at home. The title«Comfort» is perfect. It’s exactly what the Southern girl in me has been searching for in LA. Food — the chicken and waffles(only available during Sunday Lazy Late Brunch) is hands down the best I’ve ever had. The chicken was well breaded but not super greasy and heavy. My friend had the traditional dinner with sides of collard greens and mac and cheese and was literally licking his plate by the end. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
