Club Play

Really 4 stars???
Granted my friend Terra and I left Green Door and then came here so maybe that is why I was totally let down by this place, but 4 stars???
This place had no line to get in on a Thursday night which to me in Hollywood means it isn’t that great of a place. Don’t get me wrong, I love the secret spots that not everyone knows about, you know being one of those cool kids that goes to the underground venues, but Yucca isn’t really one of those hidden streets in Hollywood, ya know?
We walked in and the layout of this bar is not so great (and p. s. this place is not a club at all so it is kinda false advertising that they call it club play in the first place!!!). It is long and skinny, and the dance floor area runs over into table areas and into the bathroom line and it just didn’t work for me. The group we were meeting had a table outside in their enclosed patio area, which due to the blue tiles on the walls made me feel like I was standing in a swimming pool that had been drained, which is kinda awkward… and my friends thought it was weird that a place that looked as run down as this place did even had bottle service! I wonder how much they charged anyway… probably helps pay for those cheap curtains they have on the inside trying to make private hook up table spots for those unlucky girls who can’t find the escape route as easily as I did!!!
And the music here sucked which explains why no one was really dancing on the dance floor area and why guys just came up to me while I was trying to leave and tried cornering me into dancing with them since there was literally no one else on the dance floor, but since the dance area is in the way of the escape route, it gives all of the weird guys a chance to hit on girls that obviously don’t want to get hit on!!! Please Club Play, put in some sort of emergency exit for girls like me, okay???

a bit small but fun. its more of a bar than a club but always plenty of people dancing having fun.

Due to me being pretty wasted from hopping to here from a previous bar, I have a fairly faint memory of what this place was like. It was a Friday night and I was just hopping from bar to clubs and such.
My friends ended bringing me here, when you get in they were blasting jungle and drum n bass, which was totally not my kind of music so I went to the back patio which was where all the cool kids were. By coincidence this place was packed with celebrities that night, with Mr. Beldings from Save By The Bell, muscian/​actor Danny Keough, model Riley Keough and Ryan Cabrera. I had no idea who Danny was when we were chatting it up at the bar, but he said he was here for Ryan Cabrera’s bday or something party. I didn’t recognize Ryan until his friends announced it because he looks like a long haired homeless bum compared to his days with Ashley Simpson. And he was dating Riley.
Anyways aside from the celebrity gossip, I ordered drinks and they were pretty expensive but what can I expect from Hollywood? I had no idea what music they were playing outside due to the fact at this point of the night, I was pissed drunk. The bathroom here is small as hell too it has 2 stalls and no urinals. But overall I had a good time here just mingling with people. And who can’t deny not having fun partying with celebrities?

Pretty fun place. Went here for a birthday party the other night and luckily we had a booth reserved, so we had someplace to sit. The best part about it is the large outdoor patio. They play pretty typical hip hop music and there’s a dance floor and even a pole, which some of the girls I was with had fun with.

I got a flyer to attend a going away party for Apl Di Ap from Black Eyed Peas. So I figure I check it out. People were waiting to get in but I managed to get in with no problems. Place is small but I was able to get a table in the back. It was popping all night long. I was impressed for a Wednesday night.
