Tables are clean, quite spacious, the pool hall itself is clean, decent cues. Don’t know what else to ask for.

This pool room is now closed. It used to be a decent room. Nice mom and pop management. Clean equipment. Although I wasn’t a fan of the billiard cloth(for 3 cushion) on the pool tables, they were always in good shape. My favorite table was their Gold Crown 4 in the back. It also had the tightest pockets about 4 ¼″ which is not too tight, but good enough to play competitively. All Centennial balls and free coffee. This was the room I spent many summers learning the game. Oh well, none of this matters anymore because this place is no longer around. RIP Champion!

This pool hall is in the same plaza as boiling crab. The other day my friends and I were at boiling crab and the wait was like 1hr ½ long! We saw this pool hall right upstairs and decided to shoot some pool to kill time. This place is kind of old but the pool tables are kept in good condition. It is like $ 12/hr for a table. The owner also sells cup noodles, coffee, water, snacks if you get hungry. This is a good place to go if you want to kill time!

Music: There’s hip hop playing. I wished they would have turned up the volume. It was high enough to hear but not loud enough to vibe to. I do like hip hop but the music was about 2.5 years old so I knew all of the words. Tables: Much bigger than the bar tables I’ve gotten use to. The balls guide across them quite nicely. Con: No al-key-hol but I expected it so that’s okay. Pro: Well for me it was somewhat empty and I kind of liked that. I would have liked to have seen more people but the vibe of the place was pretty nice and I got a chance to practice and be horrible without too many onlookers. Price: $ 12 an hour All-in-all it’s a really decent place to play pool and I’ll probably go back.

This place would be nice if it had 1. Cheaper day time rates 2. Ladies’ Night(free for women which usually makes me feel extra special for having a vagina) 3. An in house league 4. A weekly tournament These things will help bring people here and bring the rates per hour down. Having an in-house league or allow traveling leagues to come here will guarantee food and drink purchases. I don’t understand why more pool halls don’t do this instead of charging you up the ass per hour. I’m sorry, if I want to shoot pool I don’t want to shoot for only an hour. Imagine if you shoot for 3 hours, 3 to 4 days a week. The amount I would have to pay here would force me into prostitution or dog walking. Either one to supplement the income. Please, Champion Billiards, do something to save yourself from losing out like most pool halls. I used to work for a Pool Hall/Café(because they had no liquor license) and they did all the four listed plus a comedy night twice a week, free movie nights, and a membership for loyal customers($ 100-$ 120 a month per person got you a membership where you can shoot pool from open to 6pm for however long you want and on any day you wanted). They haven’t tanked yet. I want to come here on a regular basis and squander earnings on drills and games with regulars… I really do, but they have to become more pocket friendly. Believe me, it’s actually better for business.

It’s places like Champion that make me wonder if buying a pool table for my place is the economic choice for the long run. I know the tables here are expensive Brunswick ones costing up to $ 12k each but they charge quite the premium to play. Some of the teens playing there really do not take care of the tables. I saw one girl literally sit in the middle of the table to shoot her balls. You know that has to be bad for the table. Every single table looked like it needed to be refelted. The first table we played at(in the corner opposite from the bathroom) was bad. Even when you hit straight the ball would go off to one side. We both tried the same shot(hitting straight) and it happened to both of us so I’m pretty sure it’s the table. Also, several balls got stuck in the ball return mechanism and I had to get underneath the table to track them down. I expected better for the price.

Who plays pool without a pitcher of beer? We stroll in to play some pool and toss a few back. Only, there is no alcohol. The Hell… The place was nice, which is probably because there isnt a beer in sight. The customer service was good, and very helpful. Aside from the no beer thing, the only other sucky part was the hippity hoppity music, which I am no big fan of. I sucked at pool that night, which again, I attribute to the lack of booze. Next time, i think I’ll be heading down to Long Beach to enjoy some really, divey, dank, drunken pool halls… with the occasional pool fight.

If you are looking for a clean pool hall, with well maintained tables and supplies, then you just found your spot. Clean enviornment. I’d also say kick back. Nobody comes in to the place looking mischeavious. They play recent music, mostly hip hop, rap, r&b. Munchies, they have munchies. chips, cookies, and even those spicy noodle soups, Sodas, Arizonas ice teas, gatorades, NOALCOHOLIC beverages. It’s probably not a place to go with a huge crowd to get loud, might be a place for those who want to play the game. The price is not so inexpensive, but you will get a good game without the ball rolling to the left or right! =D I think its like 9hr mon-thurs and 12hr Fri-Sun. Im a regualr, The owners are always friendly and interact with me. I digg the place!

The place is very clean, and the tables/balls are incredibly well maintained. Anytime people left, the man behind the desk would polish their balls and wipe down the mess at their table. I couldn’t believe how fast my shots went, compared to my normal haunts in North Hollywood. I didn’t notice any thugs or dead bodies, but I also didn’t notice any complimentary drinks. Overall, the place was pretty nice, but $ 15/hour is a bit steep. As Ducer said, go there to shoot pool. The fee isn’t worth it if you’re just looking for a place to hang out with friends.

Went here last Saturday, cost $ 15 to play for about an hour here. The place is chill, but not worth the money.

As a Real Pool and billiards players, all these other Reviewers points of views express this pool hall as a «hang out» I will review this place from a «billiard Enthusiast’s» point of view: 1. Tables: A+++++ Ignorant people who don’t know pool, don’t appreciate the nice Brunswick tables that has the Simonis 860 cloth! If you don’t know What Brunswick is or Simonis 860 is, you are not a pool player!!! So you suck and can’t handle a 58″ stick and probably miss the cue ball on the break. 2. Yes, Free sodas but you pay $ 15 an hour for it. It’s not a bad price to play on such nice tables. But If I think about it, I’ve played there for many years, and If I would have saved up all that money, I’d probably could have bought about a few dozen nice pool tables. 3. The balls are cleaned very well buy a «rice cooker» type machine, then the worker polishes the balls using gloves and cue ball wax. 4. If you like good house cues and shiny balls, this is the place for you. 5. This place is filled with Kids: Emos, Thugs, Nerds, World of Warcraft Nerds, Diablo Nerds, O.G. CounterStrike Veterans(me), and K-town Drama queens. =) Champions used to be very cool, but since the new owners took over and all my homies stopped working here, I don’t get anymore hook ups. Bleh~

After you’ve gone drinking with the buddies you don’t really care about what kind of place you end up in at 2am. We walked by and it was a pretty random decision to go in. Pool hall is big and tables were alright. After people left, the owner went and scrubbed down their table. lol. So I guess that means decent maintenance. There were a couple of thugz –with a z– playing in the back, and a couple girls shooting pool too. $ 12 per hour. And I didn’t know about the free soda. Boo…

Sucks balls. Crappy felt, no alcohol, and no masse(I got yelled at because I didn’t read the tiny sign on the wall… he even came to the table to inspect the felt after I shot the ball) but there’s a lot of tables and Megatouch games.

I like this pool hall… the tables are solid and clean… and this is where I beat 4 guys playing pool… They don’t serve drinks yet you always hear about people getting shot up there. This plaza is known for the thugs. For the people who tag along but don’t play pool there are a few arcade type machines where you can play video poker or(my personal favorite) the«erotic» find the difference between 2 pictures game… my friends always get a kick out of it and we can play for hours…
