I enjoyed the authentic German/Swiss food. You can also stop in for a pizza baked in a wood fired oven and wash it down with true German beers.

3 stars for the effort and the friendly server. We aren’t used to this style Euro food, but we like to try new things and nothing we ordered struck us one bit. Pizza wasn’t made with fresh dough on the premise. More like pre-made. Macaroni and cheese was pretty blah flavorless and the meat, we wouldn’t touch with a six-foot pole. Salad was decent but the dressing they used tasted like too much mayo was used. Needless to say, first and last visit.

Great food, great environment, great staff! Had the Schnitzel and it was just as good as when I had it in Vienna! We will be back! :)

My family was hoping having a great lunch today. Service was fast sometimes too fast but it was fair. We had a trouble with the pork schnitzel. The meat was not pounded as is should be, was not place in flour and the color wasn’t there so is the flavor. The meat was very tough to cut and chew. The bread was dry and hard so we left it in the basket. We ask for extra sauce, we were told they charge extra. For the quality it was extremely expensive. Will I be back??? NO. Would I recommend to any of my friend? The answer is NO.

My latest visit to Chalet Edelweiss really boosted my opinion of the restaurant. The service was just great and everyone was friendly and welcoming without being overbearing. This time we got our bread basket… fresh from the oven. My partner and I shared a sausage platter and a seasonal salad special. The food was plenty for two and we even took some home. Plus, my partner was thrilled at the free beer with Unilocal check-in. We will most definitely return. Chalet Edelweiss is now near the top of my list of Westchester restaurants.

Went there on advice of a friend. Nice 15 minute walk from hotel close by LAX. Smelled the great food before I found the place. Great outside covered seating area which could be the LA version of a bier garten. This place has a great feel to it. There was only one other table seated when I arrived. Waitress was very pleasant and outgoing. My beer and pretzel were delivered quickly and my meal shortly thereafter. The pretzel was authentic and large enough to share with someone. They offer salted or unsalted which I like. The main course arrived hot and it was delicious. The sauce was amazing and I’m ashamed to admit I used pieces of the pretzel to get every last bit of it I could. A definite do over !

Went for dinner 12÷30÷15. Had their goulash with spetzael(sp?). It was soooo good. I haven’t been there since 2011, so it’s been years, but their food is still delicious! The wait for the food took a little while, but it is worth it!

I went there with a couple of European friends as Raclette and Fondue amateurs. The Raclette was good but don’t expect to have your own Raclette grill(which, I guess, is ok for an American restaurant). However, the fondue was far from perfect and expensive. The taste of the cheese was awful. Luckily, the Chocolate fondue was nice.(but it’s pretty hard to fail this one). The waitress that we had didn’t care about us at all. She even asked us to calculate our own bills when we asked her to split the fare, which is, according to the manager, perfectly normal. When a restaurant is that expensive, you expect to have at least some respect from the staff.

Wow, we don’t have any great German restaurants in northern CA. This was great! They had a thanksgiving meal that was yummy! I had the sausages, schnitzel and sauerkraut!

This restaurant has a good food and a very very poor sad. That waiters and the helpers don’t look for us at all, ignore small stuffs like when music stops or someone are watching TV and they simply turn off… Again the food is good, but don’t spect too much

I had a craving for fondue and since it’s quite non-existent around West LA, my husband found this quirky restaurant with European touches and tasty food. They also had a projector and TV playing sports. We ordered the cheese fondue($ 17/pp, 2-person minimum), which comes with a salad and pickles, onion pearls, tomato, and bread for dipping. We also ordered additional dipping sides — apples, broccoli, and carrot — for $ 2/pp extra. A fun way to eat food and very tasty! We also shared the sausage platter($ 25), which comes with three different sausages and two sides(we got sauerkraut and the parsley potatoes). The sausages were crisp, tasty, and appeal to various taste buds. My husband enjoyed the beer sampler with four different German beers. Good taste except for one flavor, but you can’t please them all! We ended the meal with their chocolate fondue, which was a perfect end to the meal and perfect for two. Definitely try it out! It is a bit pricey($$), but they can do that since its speciality food; it’s worth it. It wasn’t too busy on Friday after 7:30−8p.

What an eccentric little place with very nice service. Loved the beer sampler, pretzel and Guinness beer battered shrimp. Really yummy and came out super quick. We also shared one chicken sausage and one side order of Spätzle. We ordered it plain which was a mistake, next time I’m getting it with the cheese and onions! Overall nice meal at a cute little place! Definitely want to come back!

This place is just minutes from my house and I regret overlooking it for so long. How can I have missed this place for so long? Maybe because I thought it was just a bar. We started off with the Giant Bavarian pretzel and Dijon mustard. Super good. I wanted to order extra to take to work for the next day but forgot. The pork sausage is great especially if you pair it with the beer sampler. I got the pork loin which is tasty but I enjoyed my friend’s pork sausage more. They are not stingy with the meat on the Spaghetti Bolognese. Tasty and matched with bread and butter is a pretty hearty meal by itself. A lot of good options here :)

Ever since my trip to Germany 2 years ago, I have a soft spot for all things German. Hubs and I have been wanting to check this place out for a while. What better time to feast on German food/beer than Oktoberfest season? We came in on Saturday night around 8. We were greeted by a nice lady(I’m assuming she is the owner). Our server was nice and friendly too. We got 2 large mugs of Bitburger while we explore the food menu. After much debate(seriously, there are so many things on the menu that sound good!), we decided on the following: — Giant Bavarian Pretzel: Gotta have a pretzel! It was served piping hot, crispy on the outside, soft/chewy on the inside — perfection. 5⁄5 — Chalet Edelweiss salad: We got this with Wiener schnitzel. Everything on the plate tasted really good, I loved all the pickled vegetables. Schnitzel was cooked to perfection. Swiss ranch dressing was good too. I wish they give you more greens though. I think I’m going to ask for extra next time. 4⁄5 — Sausage Plate«Wurstplatte»(from the Oktoberfest special menu): 3 kinds of sausages served with your choice of two sides. I LOVE weisswurst(German white sausage), it’s my favorite. I could have just had weisswurst and skipped the other two kinds(bratwurst and knackwurst). But hubs liked them, so it ended up being a good assortment. For the two sides, we got spatzle and sauerkraut. I thought spatzle would be served with cheese sauce, but rather it was served«naked.» It was rather dry and tasteless… Sauerkraut was good though. For $ 25, this wasn’t really worth it. I’d say 3⁄5 All in all, we had a good experience. I can’t wait to come back and try their Swiss specialties next time. But we left with the feeling that everything is slightly overpriced… $ 9 for pretzel. $ 25 for 3 sausages and sides.

Good times here! We had trouble finding a good German biergarten in LA, and this one really hits the spot. Family-owned and operated, the owner welcomed us and took our order. Nice décor and good service. There is a fake mountain in the entryway that adds to the ambiance. The food! Was good! Portions were large — I enjoyed the huge pretzel with amazing honey mustard and the Swiss Mac and Cheese, which came with ground beef on top and a side of apple sauce — very good combo. Others at my table enjoyed their wursts. The Radler is the best beer, IMHO — mix of German beer and Sprite, hard to find unless you’re at a good German restaurant! Happy Oktoberfest!

If nothing else, come here at least once for the free beer you get for checking in the first time! This place serves German beer on tap at reasonable prices. Not a lot of places in the area do. In terms of the food, I’m not really experienced with German food, so I can’t say how this stacks up to any other place. But I could see people enjoying this place for the great beer and maybe splitting a pretzel or sausages for a German Happy Hour or something.

We’ve been going through German food withdrawal, especially with the demise of our favorite Berghoff in Chicago, and the paucity of German and Swiss cuisine in the LA area. Then we found Chalet Edelweiss in the Westchester area not far from LAX. It was a delightful find with terrific food in a fun casual atmosphere. We have gone there twice, and each time has been consistent and very good. Katherine was behind the bar the first time, and was so enthusiastic. Our servers were Christina the first visit and Marina on the second. Both knew their menus and items well. This came in handy because there was such a variety of my favorite ~ schnitzels. They had rahm, jäger, classic wiener schnitzel and two others. You get a choice of chicken, pork or veal. The veal was delicious ~ not a classic giant pounded out schnitzel, but three perfectly delicate pieces. Prior to that we had the giant Bavarian pretzel with a tasty honey mustard sauce. The Nussli salad was light and flavorful. Another highlight was the Kase-Bier(cheese-beer) soup which was absolutely delicious. Their red cabbage, spaetzel and sauerkraut are on point. Others ordered the sauerbraten and jäger schnitzel with a mushroom and pearl onion gravy and loved their dishes. There is a nice assortment of beers such as Kostritzer Schwarz which goes so well with the dishes. Because Chalet Edelweiss is actually Swiss, there are also tempting fondues, rachlette cheese and even pizzas. So we’ll have to give these a try. Of course, an excellent strudel is a fine way to finish a great meal. We’ll be back!

We came here two days in a row. It is that good! Definitely try the fondue, we ordered ours with 2 shots of Kirsh. It’s the brandy that adds the flavor. It was so good! You have have to get the Kirsh. It comes with onions and some good ass pickles! It came with a salad and the dressing was really good. It was a Swiss ranch. My husband liked it so much he wanted a salad the next day solely bc of the dressing. I had a pink lady to drink; its the German Pilsner beer with raspberry syrup for flavor. It was great for a hot summer day. The first time we went they were out of the raspberry syrup so the owner said she could use grenadine as she had in France. It was almost just as good, but the raspberry was my favorite. Overall great experience, great ambiance, and great good. The owner, who Is either German or Swiss, is super nice. We will be back!!!

Eat24 makes ordering delivery from this place a piece of cake. There was one incident where I placed a lunch order on a weekend only to find out that they only have their dinner menu available on weekends. Eat24 has since fixed that. They’re also really friendly when you place the call and pick it up yourself. I’ve never actually dined in at Chalet Edelweiss though. I’ve ordered many items here and agree with the other Unilocalers on their pizzas being awesome! If you like thin crust pizzas made from scratch, you’ll love pizzas here. I recommend the Americana, Margherita, and Hawaiian. The Quattro Stagioni is decent but beware they put their toppings in sections. So one section will only have artichoke, another section will have olives, and one section ham. That was a surprise! I found their namesake Edelweiss pizza plain and lacking in flavor, even with the chicken jalapeño sausage. For lunch, they have fresh sandwiches and salads on the menu. I love their chicken pesto and turkey club sandwiches. The chicken pesto is a tasty option for lunch. I usually pair it with their yummy sweet potato fries. I order the turkey club sandwich when I want something lighter. Or I order their specialty salads, which comes with bread. Their Chalet Edelweiss salad has been consistently good. It’s one of my favorites. You get so many flavorful ingredients in one salad! I like to add grilled chicken to it. The Swiss Style Cobb Salad is also great. The spinach and cranberry salad is just okay. I wouldn’t order it again. For dinner, I love the Swiss Mac and Cheese. The ingredients are really simple: chunky elbow pasta, swiss cheese, and ground beef sauce. The whole is greater than the parts though, in my opinion. It’s the grown-up version of mac n cheese! The bratwurst with veal is also good. Their veal is amazingly tender and flavorful! The zurcher gschnatzlets and rahm-schnitzel are just okay. I’m not too keen on the mushroom sauce in both. The meat was drowning in the sauce. After trying so many things, I know what I like and what I don’t from this place. I continue to order from here when I want a fresh or light lunch. The food’s not bad but the prices are high for what you get.

Terrific dining option… something different, a little culture and good food to boot! This place is tucked into a business office structure, but don’t let that deter you, one you step inside its almost as if you’ve stepped into Austria or Germany. Great mountain décor, bright and airy too. The menu is filled with customary cuisine from the region as well as a few extras too including Italy. Be patient as your food is prepared when you order it… nothing is sitting under heat lamps or warming drawers. Order more beer while you wait, the beer options are plenty and darn tasty too. We did have to remind the server to bring water, but they don’t lose stars for it. We had schnitzel(pork and veal) and we tried the white pizza with jalapeño sausage, potato and a yummy nutty Swiss-like cheese. The only thing I would have changed on the pizza is adding onion(not sure if that was an option), but the pizza needed«something» more than the red pepper flakes or Parmesan. Plenty of parking in the back. Great restaurant!
