Cathay Manor Apartments

My mother lived in this Cathay Manor on Broadway, Chinatown since it opened, and lived there for almost 30 years, until she passed away. We saw the worst maintenance of the many senior apartment housing we’ve been to. Cockroaches all over. We had to place roach traps etc everywhere. Mentioned to the office management, she brushed it off, saying nothing can be done because the tenants did not keep their apartment clean. Although they did have periodically had pest control service. Not sure the pest control service did a thorough job though. This is definitely serious health hazard to the senior residents living there.

My grandma lives here and lately their elevators have not been working. Keep in mind these are apartments for seniors so all these senior citizens have to walk up the stairs to their rooms. Also when people want to visit its super hard to find parking in Chinatown but they have this huge parking lot with only one or two cars because you have to pay for parking to visit your beloved grandma, mother, father, friend etc. I feel that if it’s free more people would come and visit their family members. I tried making suggestions and calling Burker Management but I guess me alone is not enough… (714) 533 3450 is their number, if anyone else want to suggest something for the betterment of our eldery feel free to call them to do so :) and thank you!
