I have to say this place is amazing! The staff works together very well. I went with two friends and our server kept checking on our tables and so was the rest of the staff of the restaurant. My favorite cocktail was the watermelon margarita! It was so good I had 4! If your looking for a Mexican restaurant in Venice Beach stop by Casalinda! You will have a great time !:)

Awesome place! Easy to find street parking. Great seating in the back patio. Server was present despite busy Friday night. I ordered fish tacos plate and it was awesome. The halibut was perfectly seasoned, veggie fresh and overall the food was awesome. Would definitely come back to this place!

Let me start by saying this is THEMOST Unfriendly restaurant on Abbot Kinney for kids. Sad when a great small place expands and loses everything that made it great. We use to love this place! Tried the new location and left before we even got our food. We enjoyed the abbot Kinney art show and walked over for some tacos. When we entered the restaurant we decided to sit in the front room, but the staff REALLy pushed us going to the back patio, so we obliged. Our waiter was incredibly annoying with trying to up sell us on everything and was visibly annoyed with us when we declined his recommendations. We both wanted tacos ala carte but we’re told that they now longer do that and you can only order a combo with rice and beans! I wanted two fish taco, and NOT a combo with rice and beans but had to order the combo because they would not accommodate. We ordered chips and guacamole for us and our kids and when the guacamole came to the table our 4 year old proceeded to take a heaping scoop, and instantly started crying hysterically because of the spices! I tried the guacamole and was shocked at how spicy it was and was incredibly angry at or waiter for serving to us NOT warning us about the spice! Not cool and even more not cool is that we still had not been served water so our daughter was losing her mind and we had no way of calming her down, so I had to run over and get her water. When I confronted our waiter his response was«yeah, it’s spicy.» No sorry about that, nothing. TERRIBLE service!!! At this point I told the waiter to cancel our order and we bailed. The manager stopped us on the way out and said sorry. Will never go back!!!

I was bummed when I thought these guys went out of business. They have a very authentic style that be somewhat of an acquired taste for some Mexican food lovers. I wasn’t over the moon at first, I just thought it was good. Well, I am definitely a fan these days. I think the new restaurant is even better or at least cozier for dining in than the old one. Stoked they are still walking distance from my house… Guero del rancho, me voy a pedir mas chelas pronto paisa!!!

First and foremost, make sure you check the address as they’ve moved to a new location. Depending on the nav system you are using, it might take you to the old location. We had a birthday party of 8 and were seated on the back patio. Many of us are sports fans so it was wonderful to have a TV out there along with heaters so we could watch the Warriors vs Thunder game. I started out the night with strawberry margaritas which I really liked. I also tasted my friend’s cucumber jalapeño margarita but it was just a little too spicy for my taste. The Don Julio shots however, were on point. I’m not a big fan of the salsa they serve with their chips and salsa. The guacamole is definitely the way to go. For dinner, I ordered the tacos a la carte and my eyes of course were bigger than my stomach. I had carne asade, shrimp, and halibut. I loved the shrimp, liked the halibut, and could have done without the carne asada. Two tacos is definitely enough. I was appreciative of the waitstaff and their service. They were very attentive and our drinks rarely went empty. Overall a decent experience.

Ugh. We came here for dinner and I have to say I had the worst tacos I have ever(not) eaten. What was up with this? I had the chicken, beef and fish taco and both the chicken and beef came doused in a brownish sauce that was so strong tasting and overpowering that I could not eat it. I just couldn’t. I am usually not that picky when it come to food and if I am hungry I’ll eat whatever is on my plate even if it’s only half good but this just tasted bad. Not sure if I just got the bottom of the batch or someone totally fucked this up but I cannot imagine that the tacos always taste like this given the other good reviews We also ordered Margaritas($ 12) and I did not care for mine which tasted bitter and smokey. Overall this was a hugely disappointing experience. I am mostly writing this review to remind myself never to come back here.

My boyfriend and our new puppy recently went here for Sunday brunch. We were greeted automatically with smiles. The entire time the staff was incredibly sweet on their game! They had nothing but kindness to share. The atmosphere of Casa Linda was wonderful. The outdoor patio is shaded and relaxing. There are beautiful colors everywhere; which is a nice change of pace compared to the usual contemporary Los Angeles restaurants that I have seen. We ordered the guacamole, chilaquiles and Casa Linda salad with shrimp. Everything was flavored well. It was also displayed simply yet beautifully. The chilaquiles verdes were the best that I have tried so far! No chip was a disappointment because every single one was adorned in a delicious cream and verde sauce! The salad was also dressed incredibly well! You have to make sure you do not opt out of the cheese option because it is so delicious! The whole salad was perfectly coated in their cheese! I am typically not one for any tomato flavored beverages, but after I tried their Micheladas, I became a believer! So much so that micheladas are my new brunch obsession. Overall, the staff made dining at Casa Linda quite a wonderful experience. Everyone treats you with the utmost kindness and respect. What got me the most was how sweet they were to our new puppy. They greeted her with pets and even offered to bring her a dish of water. I cannot wait to be back!

This place would have been cool if it weren’t for the ridiculous overpricing of their food. $ 9 more for a salad that sucked to have shrimp added in. Totally my bad for reading the already confusing menu wrong… Mega annoying.

We randomly came across this place while exploring Abbott Kinney. Loved the vibe and décor. We had the option to sit indoor or outside in the back patio. Although it was raining, the back patio was still open. They have heavy hanging see through plastic curtains around the back patio to keep it from being super cold and to not let in the wind/rain. They also had overhead heaters. Our waiter was really friendly and attentive. We ordered their fresh squeezed orange juice and watermelon agua fresca. The watermelon agua fresca was nothing but delicious! We also had chips with guacamole, green and red salsa, and picadillo. The chips were crispy and thin. It was great being provided with a bunch of options for the chips. I ordered the chilaquiles rojos with the eggs. The meal looks super small on the plates they provide you and I thought I was going to be left hungry. I was wrong! The meal was definitely sufficient enough, flavorful and filling. I would have to say that I’m not too fond of their horchata. It’s not as savory as I’ve had from various other restaurants. We also ordered the bottomless mimosas that were really tasty. Only down side was that we were sitting in the corner of the patio area and once we were done with our drinks it would take a while before they noticed or we could get their attention. It can get really busy here, and we noticed the staff working hard to try to meet everyone’s needs as fast as they could. I definitely would be returning.

Around 7pm on a Friday, we got the brilliant idea to check out First Fridays on Abbot Kinney in Venice. Apparently, about six thousand other people(mostly between the ages of 14 and 18) got the same idea, and my dreams of food truck heaven were also shattered. Luckily, this chain of events propelled us into the welcoming arms of Casa Linda. After ordering a couple of margaritas, I got the chicken salsa verde enchiladas for my entrée. I absolutely loved it, so much so that we came back with our friends and our party of four ordered four of these dishes. The place is a bit lacking in ambiance, but I’m assuming that this will improve with time. Service has been very friendly and attentive.

Great little place in Venice Beach. Tacos were beautifully put together and tasted as good as they looked. Also the Michelada was pretty on point to wash it all down.

After a day spent walking from Santa Monica to Venice and around the Venice canals, we were ready to grub! We figured this would be the perfect spot, but unfortunately the food was hit or miss. HIT: –Shrimp tacos: the shrimp is fried, but not overly so and very flavorful. Loved the cilantro, cabbage, and very delicious and flavorful sauce it came with. –Abbot Kinney martini: I loved this martini! It’s definitely a spin on a martini as it’s made with tequila, lime juice, and egg whites, but I loved the creativity of it. So refreshing, tasty, and perfectly balanced flavors. MISS: –Nachos: never in my life did I think I’d put nachos in a «miss» column. The whole thing, including the cheese, was cold! We told our waiter and he said it’s meant to be that way. Hmmmm I don’t know about you, but cold nachos don’t work well in my book. Also, so regret getting chicken on it. We picked it all off since it was all gross fatty and overly chewy pieces. –Salsa verde enchiladas: way way way too much sour cream in the sauce and the enchiladas are so drenched in the sauce they are soggy. We had one bite and stopped because we felt like we’d feel sick if we continued eating. Overall, it’s a little place with cute casual ambience. Service left a bit to be desired and so did some of our food, but the tacos are amazing and the tables near us seemed to be enjoying their tacos and burritos.

I would give this place a 5 star rating but they got me good on the prices. It didn’t state that’s it’s an additional charge for the meats, it vaguely states the prices next to the meats but it so misinterpreting that you think you are paying what it says but it’s an ADDITIONAL and menus usually say(+). Anywho I ended up paying for an overpriced salad! On a good note, the food is pretty good. Halibut tastes delicious! Just watch out what you order and make sure to review the prices!

Casa Linda was a great quiet place to stop and have a yummy Mexican lunch. I chose to have shrimp tacos and my guests both had burritos, pretty basic. Everything was very good and the salsa selection was impressive. We sat on the patio which has a nice view of a garden next door. It was very peaceful and we were welcomed to take our time and enjoy our lunch with no rush from the servers. Great spot!

We had a free afternoon to hang out and catch lunch and were surprised to learn that one of our favorite Abbott Kinney stops — Casa Linda — had resurfaced down the street in the old Primitivo space! We made a beeline down and actually found street parking, finding the restaurant only slightly busy and a great seat by the window. Ah, the salsa verde enchiladas are just as delicious as we remembered. Everything else was top notch as well(there may not be a better torilla chip in LA), with our server being not only efficient, but friendly and attentive. GO eat here!

This place is amazing! Great service, really fresh food and a vibrant environment. Definitely get the fresh orange… I would have got the bottomless Mimosa with my hubby, but we have two ticking time bombs with us(toddlers).

After an afternoon power walking Venice, the canals and Abbott Kinney Casa Linda is the perfect stop for a healthy, delicious bite and hydration. The color spot is inviting and the staff is supper friendly. There is plenty of space inside and on their patio. I had the cactus margarita(yum, not too sweet, with the slightest hint of spice/heat) and their grilled northern halibut taco. The taco is well portioned; a couple of tacos could be a light meal. This delicious treat has grilled halibut, purple cabbage, cilantro, house dressing on flour tortilla and drops of habanero hot sauce. Yum. Yum. Chips come with a spicy red salsa and a verde salsa complete with bits of cilantro, onion and flavor. Can’t wait to go back to try a burrito.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant in LA — I am not kidding. I lived here for two years and brought every guest and they all fell in love with it. When I moved home, I would fly to visit and drive straight from LAX to CasaLinda. When it closed from its old location I was so upset! Thrilled to find it reopened just a few blocks down. What to order — without a doubt the guacamole appetizer and the fried shrimp tacos(they will change your life). In other words, you must come here. Thank you CasaLinda for reopening — I am one happy girl!
