I had Jerk chicken & patties(beef & chicken) all of it was good. I recommend this place if you’re in the mood for a Caribbean meal & you are nearby

So wanted some oxtails and curry goat so decided to give this spot a try. Prices are for the most part on par with majority of Caribbean spots. I’m going to cut straight to the chase. They frankly have the best curry goat I’ve tasted in LA hands down. The meat wasn’t fatty, the sizes were big, seasoned well and soooo tender. Man! I took a bite in the car before I drove off and cursed as soon as I chewed. Very good job on curry goat. The oxtails were ok, but gold star for the goat.

Stopped by this place for lunch cuz I had business a few doors down. The food was way over priced and the jerk chicken was too salty. I hate to leave a bad review of a young small restaurant, but I felt obligated to let people know that a $ 14 plate of jerk chicken from this place is not even close to worth it.

Firstly, Caribbean Spice is under NEW management, so I highly recommend everyone go and check it out. I’ve eaten here at least three times and I enjoy the food. I’ve had both the curry chicken as well as the fried chicken. They both taste great; however, for the price point, I think they could manage to give you a little more food. I also think they’d get a lot more business if they started having weekly specials w/a lower price point, perhaps for around $ 7 – 8. $ 11 on your lunch break or to grab dinner every now and again is a little steep. I realize they offer a $ 5 box, but that’s not enough food. In addition, the young man who takes your order is very customer service oriented, I like that. Great service will always keep you coming back! Pros: Good Food Friendly Service Fast Service Cons: Pricey Tight w/Gravy Need to drain water from veggies Rice & Peas a little hard Could stand to give you more food

The food is delicious; I came here during a break from work at about 4pm. Was told that it’s been open for about 1 month. Very clean, Spacious and my food was ready within 5 minutes! The service was great and courteous. There is street parking on both sides of Washington as well. I had a jerk chicken which came with steamed veggies and plantains for 11 $ for a lotta food. I will definitely be back!!!

Visited Caribbean Spice this past Saturday. They are currently doing a «soft» opening as they get things together. Tables were clean and service was good. The Curried Goat was excellent(not«goaty» if you understand that saying). I enjoyed a Sorrel with my dinner which was locally made. My husband had the corn soup, which he loved! I will definitely be back for more. I can’t wait to try other dishes.

Located in the same space as the former Kaboom Jamaican Flavor, another Caribbean restaurant has opened its doors. I got there about 20 minutes before closing and they just opened about 2 weeks ago so I’m more forgiving than usual. I arrived at about 8:40pm after driving by earlier in the week. They were out of most of the items, only having a bit of oxtail left. I opted for the large which, at $ 16 isn’t a bad deal at all. I got a sorrel as well(they said that they make it in house) — if you don’t know what it is, it’s like a jamaica(the Mexican drink, not the country) with a bit of a bite. Amazing when done well. The oxtail was cooked well; it was a bit buttery for me, which I’m not really used to, but had good consistency and texture. The rice and peas was just rice(again, they’ve just opened less than 2 weeks and I got there right before closing). Plantains were great. I liked the sorrel a lot. It was strong, which I enjoy, but was a little short on the bite for me. Again, this is my taste — I like mine a bit more fermented and kicking than the usual. All in all, a good experience. The service was quick and easy — I usually refuse to rate service as a matter of principle(I’ll give you 5 stars if your place is filthy and you tell me to fuck myself if you have great food) but, in this case, I’ll include it. The staff was friendly. I’ll definitely be back to see how they fare in the future.
