This is my go to Mexican spot in the area. You can not go wrong with anything that you choose. Breakfast: The machaca is always amazing, huevos rancheros are amazing. Lunch/Dinner: the burritos are better than amazing. I had the super deluxe burrito today, and the avocado burrito yesterday, what will tomorrow bring!!! The ceviche tostada is a large portion for what you pay. Make sure to try the green salsa while you are there, it’s my fav. Staff has always been friendly, service has always been fast, and the restaurant is always clean. Small parking lot, but there is more parking underneath.

on our roadtrip to LA, the girls wanted to go next door to the beauty store… i wanted TACOS! so we stopped in this place is pretty clean, has a salad bar and I watched them juice their own juice. had a couple of tacos, and they were pretty darn good, but that’s all i can speak for just the steak tacos.

My SECRET go to place for Mexican food. It’s a hole in the wall located inside a mini mall just off of Centinela Ave right on Santa Monica Blvd. The décor is utilitarian, Mickey D’s has more style than this place. I guess its not so secret any more but I love their quintessential Famous Avocado Burrito. Once i get urge to eat one, no matter how long I try to put it off or try to avoid the urge I am always thinking about it until I scratch that itch. Although the menu is extensive I usually purchase only the Avocado Burrito and occasionally along with some Chips and Salsa. If I order anything else I usually have to return to satisfy the initial urge. Even if I make my own at home I still have the craving, I must be dysfunction or something. In my area there used to be many Mexican restaurants but with the influx of more trendy eateries and the rising cost of rent, the mom and pop Mexican restaurants are becoming dinosaurs and soon to be extinct in favor of franchise restaurants ie Taco Bell, Chipotele, etc. Although Campos is a semi franchise organization, meaning they tried to expand but had to close down many of their locations. Even this location was shut down for a while, i am glad they recently reopened or else I would have to trek to the original shop in Santa Monica. I am an idiot! I let out my own secret. So I am a blabber mouth but at least I put the FUN in dysFUNctional. Ha Ha!

Not sure why this place doesn’t have better reviews! I love everything I order from here. I usually get the macho burrito w/o meat. The employees are always nice and it’s insanely fast. Love this place! Only complaint is that they close too early!

Although the interior could use updating, the staff is nice and the food is great. Don’t expect anything fancy. A restroom would be a plus.

BUSINESSISCLOSED! I believe as of Oct 2013. I’m totally bummed, cause I went here frequently. Perhaps they didn’t charge enough? Looks like a burger joint will take its place. previous review: Vast menu, with Insanely low prices for very good food. Workers aren’t overly friendly, but they perform quickly and efficiently. My favorite dish at any mexican joint is 2 enchiladas with rice and beans, and that’s only five bucks here. Ambiance is lacking, but that’s okay with me. My only complaint, and this is why I’m removing one star, is no bathroom for customer use. Is that legal? But that’s okay, if I have an emergency there, I’ll let the cashier decide: Let me use the bathroom, or I crap all over the floor!

Five stars for value. Quick, quality food for extremely reasonable prices. Great $ 5 specials, amazing chips and salsa, and the only breakfast burritos my boyfriend will eat.

I personally felt this place to be alright. It wasn’t bad or great. Prices are the usual Mexican joints.

This review is, more accurately, about 3.5 stars, but I’ve rounded up rather than down for a number of reasons. Here’s the skinny: I went here on a Tuesday because I had heard about them having a Taco Tuesday deal… something to the effect of 1 dollar tacos. Sad to say, this deal no longer exists. However, they did have a great every-day deal; 4 tacos and a drink for 5 bucks. Steal. I took this opportunity to try a few different meats there. Upon the first bite of my carnitas taco, I wanted to punch myself in the dick for not getting all 4 tacos filled with carnitas. I learned as the meal progressed that my first taco would be my best. I also tried al pastor, which was a little bit too saucy for my liking. I’d suggest that if you’re into pastor, you should head across Santa Monica Blvd to my beloved Taco Plus. The asada was uninspiring, but totally fine. Like I said, carnitas, carnitas, carnitas. I should point out, also, that these were legit Mexican street tacos. 4−5″ diameter double-stacked tortillas filled with nothing more than meat, onions, and cilantro. I love. If you’re looking for honky-fied Chipotle-style tacos, you best go to Chipotle. If you want flavor and authenticity, check out Campos. I should mention that I have also had a breakfast burrito from here and I was moderately impressed. Campos will not dethrone Corner Cottage in Burbank or Big Tomy’s in West LA for King of the Breakfast Burrito Universe, but it is good and I think the world should know it. On all fronts, the price is right, the portions are satisfying without killing your diet, and the dudes that run it are cool. You have my recommendation. Oh yeah, and there’s a parking lot too, which is nice.

Yummy Tacos! Stick to just the tacos! The Asada one’s are the best with the spicy sauce! :)

So I went here for some breakfast not my usual decision but I like to eat something other than my regular fast food spots sometimes. I ordered their breakfast special(#5) which included bacon, eggs, potatoesand toast. Nothing super special but at least it was off of an assembly line. Simply the food was fine, it doesnt take a genius to make this, the bacon was crispy & they actually made the eggs better that I do I ordered my eggs with cheese which they put 2 kinds melted perfectly. I also orderd them with onions which they negleccted to add. That was a bit of a disappointment because whan I took that first bite I was upset I didn’t get that crunch or flavor. Oh well, next time I guess.

So me and my friend came in here today because we were hungry and we happened to be here, all by chance. I actually saw the Taco Tuesday — 99c Tacos from the inside, I didn’t notice it while walking in. I decided to give it a try, it remind me of Rubio’s Fish Taco Tuesdays haha. But yea like another reviewer said, it was for their small tacos, not just any taco… so for a saving 26c per taco. I ordered 3 tacos, all carne asada, I think you get a choice of beef, chicken or carne asada. When I got the taco, it came with some chips, which was a nice addition cuz I wasn’t expecting it. It was a typical taco you would get from somewhere, small tortilla wrap with season’d carne asade, cilantro, onion, and medium salsa on top. It was okay. Not the best I’ve ever had, it was REALLY small, and it was edible but I wouldn’t come back craving for it. But a plus is that if you get a drink, they have free refills on their horchata and also I’m guessing the other two were tamarind and frescas. I thought that was really cool. Another plus, they seem to have regulars that come here, someone came in and they automatically knew who it was and that he was on a lunch break. I always like it when business remembers their customers. Overall, I might come back to try their other things. My friend liked her breakfast burrito, so maybe I’ll come back and give it a try.

The people here look depressed. And the place was absolutely empty. Those were my clues to run but I stayed. Got the beef hard shell taco($ 2.25) and campos special burrito(4.95). The taco was ok. The burrito was impossible to eat without stuff flying out. If you got a bowl of chili and wrapped it it a tortilla, thats a campos burrito. I would pass on this place.

Stumbled across this joint one weekend afternoon while my boyfriend and I tried in vain to find a place still serving Huevos Rancheros at 12:30pm. Campos DOES have huevos rancheros on the menu but they stop serving breakfast at 11:30am. Bummer. Since we were too late for breakfast we opted for 2 of the Famous Avocado Burritos — these are basically bean and cheese burritos with the addition of lettuce and guacamole. I found the lettuce to be a not so nice addition to the burrito since it’s just iceberg and makes the burrito soggy and watery — I don’t know about you but that’s not how I like my burritos. At subsequent visits we simply asked for the burritos sin lechuga and they tasted like heaven! The guac is pretty good and they give you a good amount of it inside the already large burrito. I’ve also tried the«small» asada soft taco and loved it. It came in two corn tortillas and quite a bit of meat inside(with a dash of salsa). I was plenty satisfied with the small sized taco so I’m curious to find out how big the«large» is(next visit!). The salsa bar is awesome. There are several little bins full of peppers and pickled things — my favorite is the one that has the pickled carrot and potato slices. Nowhere before have I ever found pickled potatoes in a salsa bar! I always make sure to load up a couple of cups full of the potatoes and munch on them on my walk back to my boyfriend’s condo. There are 3 kinds of salsa: green(mild), dark red(hot) and another red that’s medium spicy w/bits of onion, cilantro, and tomato(not really pico de gallo). I absolutely love that 3rd salsa! I drink that stuff straight out of the cup! mmmm hmmm! I once asked for a paper menu that I could take with me but the man at the counter stated that they were out of them. That was months and months ago and they still haven’t had more copies made which means they’re either lazy or are not making enough money to be able to incur the cost of printing. Oh well, that just means I can’t sit at home and salivate over menu items. Overall this is a good cheap spot to grab some tacos or a burrito. My boyfriend and I are addicted — we eat here practically every weekend!

My roommates and I headed down here yesterday because during the weekend, roommate 1 saw their big yellow banner read, «$.99 Taco Tuesdays!» So we went. And boy, were we juked. When we were first stepped in, we checked out the menu and saw that their soft tacos were $ 2.25 each. What a deal! Then we noticed next to that, that there were two sizes of their tacos. The large were $ 2.25 and the small were $ 1.25. So you can guess what you get for $.99. Great, a savings of $.25. But, we were in there already, we were hungry, so we ordered some food. The food was mediocre at best. Nothing special, nothing too bad, although the salsa bar pretty much sucked with watered down, non-spicy salsa. Your best bet is to go to Taco Plus which is really close by. Much, much better.
