I bought a Precor recombinant bike from Jeff and he was great to deal with. He gave me a great deal and good service. Next time I need exercise equipment, I will return to see Jeff.

Completely unprofessional.
Looking for a new piece of cardio equipment, I tried out a machine at California Home Fitness over the weekend that I had never heard of and fell in love with it. I did some research and found that the next model up might better meet my needs. California Home Fitness offered to bring that model to their shop from another branch so I could compare the two and make my final decision.
I told them I would be in on Sunday to try the two machines. On Wednesday, the salesperson emailed that she’d just sold the machine I was going to try and it was now out of stock at all their branches (permanently, according to another salesperson).
All they had to do was tell me from the outset that if someone wanted the transferred machine before I got there, they’d sell it. I could have rearranged my schedule to try it ASAP. Instead, they completely alienated me as a customer and I will never do business with them.

The girl working there this morning was all I could ask for. Acknowledged me while she helped another customer and rang me out as soon as she was able. Contrast that with my experience at Busy Body.

I started a home gym project a year ago and had half-​finished putting down interlocking tiles on the floor. When I went to buy the remaining tiles I needed, I found that store had gone out of business.
Even though California Home Fitness didn’t stock that exact tile, Ray went out of his way to help me figure out who manufactured it and I ended up not having to start over buying a whole new floor. Saved me several hundred dollars!
Way beyond what I would ever expect in customer service. Helpful, honest, knowledgeable. As I build out the equipment for my gym, I will definitely be back to California Home Fitness.

Needed an elliptical machine because running was starting to give me a lot of knee pain (my wife also has bad knee joints as well). Tested the True Fitness ES 700 here and the wife and I fell in love with it. It was so smooth and had a lot of helpful features like the space saving center drive, adjustable stride length and smooth motion (makes other machines feel like expensive steppers). California Home Fitness was very low pressure and informative with the equipment. They gave me a good deal and delivery/​installation was painless and very professional. They also have available one year financing which is convenient. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend stopping by to anyone interested in serious gym equipment. I don’t have to drive to or workout in a gym again! Wooohoo! Thanks guys! :)

We recently purchased a home and have talked for sometime about putting a gym together. Honestly, we’ve been super hesitant to do this because generally the pushy sales and purchasing experience sucks. I’m so glad that I checked Unilocal first because California Home Fitness was such a GREAT experience! I worked with Ray and Brent — and I am telling you, they were professional, patient and not pushy at all.
My husband and I were only planning on getting one or two pieces and just buying some cheap additional pieces online but we were so grateful for the easy and relaxing experience that we outfitted our whole gym from these guys! We ended up going with True cardio equipment (amazing quality brand!) and an Inspire functional trainer, plus a bunch of small weights, bands, etc. Their delivery service is super easy and if anything breaks or needs a tune up at anytime all we have to do is call and they send someone out. All in all, this was a great experience!
It takes a lot to motivate me to write a Unilocal review (either extremely positive or negative — mediocre generally doesn’t encourage me to write) and it was a no brainer that a 5 star Unilocal review was so deserved for our experience. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Buying gym equipment is not my idea of fun, in fact, being an out of shape woman I was downright intimidated to go into any gym equipment store! Determined to purchase an elliptical machine in lieu of joining a gym (hopefully this is a good long term investment, but my rationalization is — you can’t put a price on your health) to get into shape motivated me to step into Busy Body. I pass by the store all the time on my way to work and decided to check it out. The salesman there would not give me the time of day and was more interested in his lunch than making a sale. I walked out as quickly as I walked in. I walked down the street to CA Home Fitness and was helped immediately. The store is clean, machines well displayed and most importantly, the salesman made me feel at ease and talked me through my choices and the differences in the machines. I ended up purchasing the most basic machine and got an excellent deal.

i was looking for a home gym cause i was tired of going to 24 hr fitness and always waiting around for a machine. ray (salesman) was awesome. super knowledgeable. and never the hard sell. you know how some salesman just want to make the sale and don’t really listen to what you need or what will work with your fitness goals, or budget? not the case here. ray spent the time to go through the different pros and cons of varying models. he didn’t just try to sell me the most expensive thing in the store. i finally bought the inspire ft1. love it. and the price at the store was cheaper than on-​line.

My husband and I were in the market for an elliptical machine for the home. We went to Busy Body in West LA and I felt like I knew more from my research than the person working there trying to sell me the machine. A friend told me another store opened up a block away so we went to check it out. I could tell as soon as I walked in the door that the quality of the machines they had were much better.
This store carries Precor, True and Spirit brands which are all very well rated. Reuben helped us immediately and made us try all the ellipticals they had explaining that each machine would feel a little different to us and we would have to find the machine we were most comfortable on. He was very knowledgable about all the machines and exercise in general. He spent about an hour helping us and told us it was a big decision and we should go away and think about it.
I called today to order the machine we want and Reuben was very helpful on the phone with taking the order. They will deliver to our home and set it for a low fee.
