This is a terrific market for vegans on a budget. Extremely good prices on always fresh produce. E.g., green onions that are always large and crisp in generous bunches for 25c/​bunch. Great spinach, great cabbage, great chilis, jicama, radishes; everything good, everything cheap. The best thing, though, is the great deal on capers and olives on the shelf across from the beer cooler. Don’t miss ‘em.

This review is for their carne asada only. Their «ranchera» marinated carne asada is some of the best I’ve had. Trust me, my family and I know carne asada. Whenever we have a family bbq, I always buy my meat here. Tender, juicy, very lean and very flavorful. They have 2 different type of carne asada so don’t be cheap and spring for the good stuff. Around $ 6 a pound… you won’t be disappointed.

Walked in to get a sugar free red bull… however was shocked to see that they had the first energy drink of all time,“lipovitan”. The reason cali mex is getting 5 stars not four is because they have «broncolin»!!! Right next to some vitamins from Doctor Pacheco, great. Overall the grocery store looks extremely clean, meat looks well prepared and the produce looks fresh!

Okay so it’s not the prettiest place in the world and the parking lot is kind of wonky but walk inside to the meat counter and you’ll find the most delicious marinated boneless spineless chicken breast and steak!!! OMG How yum!!! We drive out from Pasadena for all the yum, I used to have the luxury of living across the street but I would gladly drive for the great products.
