Cafeoke Ding Dong Dang looks like it could be part of the movie set for Hamsterdam. When you look up grungy in the Urban Dictionary, a picture of this place shows up. However, it closes at 4 am and you can sneak in your own alcohol. Nuff said.

Oh Ding Dong Dang, how many memorable nights I’ve spent with you. Ever since my undergrad days you have been my refuge when myself and my drunken friends feel like spending a few hours of our lives singing our hearts out. Yes, you are grungy, yes parking sucks on weekend nights due to all the clubbers making their stop at Hidori after a long night of dancing, nonetheless, you are cheap and you have an awesome selection of songs. Your rooms maybe be a bit gross, and perhaps lots of unspoken things occurred on those couches, but no worries, it’s all good, we’re here to sing and to drink. Although signs say«no alcohol and food» the owner is usually pretty lenient with this matter. Just hide it and don’t flash it around. For the price, you really can’t go wrong. Not super fancy, but hey, with your friends ready to party, this spot will definitely do the trick. Plus, you can always grab some grub after to satisfy your post performance hungers.

It’s a pretty run-down place but not filthy. The sound system is still pretty good and the mics work. Large song selection and comparable to the fancier karaōke joints. I’m a regular here just because they’re open till the sun comes up. So I’m usually here in the AMs and part of the last group out of that place. Owner(or the guy who’s always working when I“m there) is super chill. Decent price for the rooms. Hidori is right downstairs and open 24hrs. Awesome.

It isn’t the most fanciest karaōke spot, nor the biggest, nor is it full service, but it’s got up to date songs, and very cheap prices. Get to know the owner and the cat will hook it up. Sing a song, and have a good time! Love it!

If you want to showcase your Gangnam Style moves then Triple D is the perfect place to do it because you can«Hey sexy lady! OP! OP! OP! OP!» in your own private karaōke room. It’s more like a party room because you can actually BYOA. So don’t be shy to walk in with a ginormous cooler filled with liquid magic along with 15 of your partied out friends who just came out of the clubs. Yea this is where the after party begins. Triple D hours of operation has been mythically known to open till sun rise. Make sure you have a DD with your party because the police station is located right down the street. Even if your DD becomes a DDD(drunk designated driver), you can sober up at one of the two delicious korean restaurants located downstairs.

Ehhh, why not, I’ll give it 4 stars. I mean it’s not the BEST norebang I have been to but it’s ok. My sister did comment on how small it was …(we were 3 people) Other than the crowdedness, I am embarrassed to say… I can speak korean but my vocabulary is a bit off. when it comes to reading. So we had this korean keyboard thing to punch in songs. but my sister doesn’t even know much korean and the other was chinese … :/ We were doomed… jk~~ I figured it out eventually. The sound is alright, the mics kept screeching a bit though… Owner was nice:) I think we were the only ones there haha… Places I have been to, it’s limited hourly so it shows up on the screen but we just kept going and going O_O eventually, I paid $ 68 but it was worth it! I had a blast on the last day of my sister visiting me in California!

I used to only come here so often in college, usually after a night of heavy drinking, and tonight was no exception! But wow, they really cut down on their English songs and the book is organized by song title instead of artist which is really inconvenient! I had a blast but I had about 6 beers and some shots so I may not be the best judge. For the normal non-Korean semi-sober person, this place might not be for you. Songs take AWHILE to load(1 – 2 min), the remote is only in Korean and the price is quite high. 2.5 hrs for 5 people, $ 75. It was ok, but I think I’ll stick to Max Karaōke,! Yes, harder to get a room on a weekend night but they have WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY more American songs! Songs Ding Dong Dong doesn’t have: Gorillaz-Clint Eastwood The Strokes-Someday Neon Trees-Animal Arcade Fire-The Suburbs Jay Z-Big Pimpin’ Ludacris-Roll Out Bob Dylan-Times are a changin’ Weezer-Sweater Song She Wants Revenge-Tear you apart Interpol-Slow Hands/PDA Harvey Danger-Flagpole sitta Anything by David Bowie

I’ve never been to one of these champagne-room karaōke places before. All the karaōke’ing I’ve done has been either at a Filipino party or a dive bar… This place is tight though, ’cause their karaōke systems knock prettty hard, ya feel me? Their system don’t play those cheesy MIDI instrumentals. The drums are legit, the bass knocks, and all the instrumentation seems semi-authentic and not synthesized! I love it! They have a really expansive collection of pop songs and classics, and it seems like they update their catalog often, so kudos on them staying in the pop music loop. A RIDIC amount of K– and J-pop, too. Hell yeah. The cons? Like everyone said: no booze readily available. Whomp whomp. But if you sneak in some brews or a handle of something and hide it under the table, then you’re set to go. C’mon, who can sing karaōke well when they’re sober? Not I. But get some shots in me and I can suddenly sing both Rihanna’s and Drake’s parts in «What’s My Name?» $ 24/hour for 4 people, btw. O na na, what’s my name, O na na…

Cheap and fun. Lots of songs. Decently sized and clean-ish bathroom. Ramen vending machine. CLUTCH. And you can… uh… bring lots of water. Parking. Hodori downstairs. What more do you want from a Karaōke joint? Nothing much. Oh yeah, the rooms don’t come with girls or guys :)

$ 30/hour for 5 people is a small price to pay for making great memories. They didn’t have all the English songs we wanted, but at least most of the songs we were looking for were there. They had Chinese, Japanese, Korean… you name it! They don’t serve alcohol, but I’m sure you can find ways to get around that. Be prepared to sing your hearts out!

Location is clean, service is friendly, and the prices are equal or less than other karaōke places I’ve been to. I appreciate that they charge by the hour instead of by the person and they also had a liberal outside food policy. However, I found their selection of(English language) songs to be extremely limiting. There isn’t really much current music(though they do seem to have every song by Lady Gaga) and to make matters worse, the booklet of songs is only arranged by song i.e. not by artist. This makes it really difficult to locate songs that they do have. Also, the remote control being in Korean made it a little difficult to navigate the song machine. You can certainly have a good time there(and we did) but I would recommend perusing the available songs before going into a room to make sure you’re going to find what you’re looking for.

Good selection of songs, but a bit pricey for what you get. Also, not good for a large group… no more than 15 people TOPS because most of their rooms are really small. You can bring your own food and drinks as long as you clean up after. Unfortunately the woman on the phone didn’t speak English, so I had my Korean friends speak to them. Overall okay, but there are probably better deals elsewhere.

If your not the one with major guts to sing in front of strangers, then come on by! this place is great, the people that own this place are very nice and if you buy stuff at the front desk then they really don’t care if you«sneak» in alcohol. if your a group of 4 or 5 they fit you in an average smaller private sized room, that DOESNT have the crazy light effect show machine, but still has the great benefit to sing your favorite tunes out loud! if your a larger sized group, 6+ you get the larger room towards the back and get the crazy light show machine for about 5 bucks… but don’t stare at it too much, im pretty sure it causes seizes… its GREAT! its about 30/hr which is pretty pricey but i can guarantee you, you’ll have a blast! also they have a couple snacks up front with some soda pop and waters, and i always recommend buying at least one or two things so you can bring in alcohol. its a family owned Korean joint and i like to support ma and pa places! enjoy, tee hee

We had an awesome time making fools outta ourselves here for my friend’s birthday. They have a pretty big selection of English songs. You can definitely get your practice on if you’re gunning to be the next American Idol. Only complaint was that it was hella expensive when we went, probably because it was Saturday night. It was $ 45 an houR!!! We spent 2 hours there so that was like $ 90. I thought it was gonna be cheaper but was I wrong. Oh yeah, theres a really cool Kimchi Noodle Bowl vending machine i’ve never seen before but its like $ 3 for a bowl.

Really decent karaōke place with the awesome addition of the $ 5 crazy lights and smoke for ambiance machine. Insane– you have to play a few songs with that ridiculous thing on. They don’t really seem to mind when you sneak in your own drinks; just clean up afterward. We’ve been here a few times in various sized rooms. I brought my little sister here once when she was visiting from NJ. Somewhat drunken and overly friendly, she wandered into a room full of Korean kids. We found her when we heard the chant, «Sing for us white girl!» Pretty awesome. Song variety is pretty good. Big selection of songs in English and languages I do not know. We always go with several Disney classics. come on. A whole new world– don’t you dare close your eyes. Oh yeah, beware of drunk drivers everywhere when you are done– and don’t be one of them! We saw this girl take 15+ minutes to pull into a spot in front of this place(she fell asleep several times while doing so and just had her foot kind of on the break). She proceeded to fall asleep for good once she was parked, woke up, saw a friend and rushed out of the car. She said, «I’M SOOOOWASTED!» and he replied, «You are drinking and driving?» to which she answered immediately, «I’m just a little buzzed!» Her friend in the car looked dead.

This place is hilarious. Bring your out-of-towners for some bi bim bap at one of the Korean diners and then drag them upstairs to Ding Dong Dang and blow their minds. They have EVERY song here. For $ 5 you can activate the smoke-and-lights machine and give yourself a seizure. They also totally know you’re going to sneak in your own booze, but it’s okay as long as you buy some shrimp chips and sodas from the front desk. The booths are teeny and dirty and kind of ghetto, but every time I go I end up laughing and laughing until I pee myself.

Sometimes I just want to sing in a ghetto room with an old ass tv with crazy strobe lights going off. With my friends. And drink the alcohol we’ve stowed away in my purse. Gotta love the grading system. Everyone gets an automatic 98%! Bring your tone deaf friends!

Anyone who knows me knows that I hate karaōke. But I WILL do karaōke at ding dong dang. One night, a group of us got liquored-up and decided to go karaokeing, and I was too loopy to protest. Oh boy, 7 drunk voices attempting to sing all of Journey’s greatest hits at the same time never sounded so good. We danced on the couches, fell off the tables, and generally made asses out of ourselves, and the staff seemed totally cool with it. I really had a grand old time.

Average karaōke, friendly and ‘accommodating’ staff. :) We were a little lit so we had fun but really, the song selection was a bit lacking. The room had a strange lil machine that allowed you to put dollars in for lights and smoke though. Haha… that was pretty fun until it literally smoked half our party out. :p

I just got back from singing for about two hours. And it’s a different experience when you go there completely sober. That’s what I get for taking a friend out in the middle of the week to celebrate her birthday. Totally different experience from going on a weekend in that you can find parking galore, the words to most songs are in Korenglish, you realize the place smells«kinna funny,» and the guy at the front counter spends about 10 minutes explaining the different song books and remotes to you. I guess for $ 20 you get the regular book, and for $ 25 you can select from a book with a bigger selection of older songs. The extra $ 5 diff is because the dude up front has to manually put in his master player or whatever the disc that you select. Can you imagine this poor guy changing all those songs out? Why even have this option? Maybe that’s why it’s the first time I’ve ever heard of it in my years and years of norebanging.
