We were driving through East Hollywood the other day and the attractive outdoor seating area caught our eye. We wanted to grab a sandwich, coffee and dessert. I took one cell phone picture on the way in. There were NO other customers in the store. That always scares me. We ordered the iced coffee and we were checking out the food display while we waited. Even though we were going to order several other items, we were literally scared out of the place by a mean lady! I tried to get a few pics of the desserts on display and this very uptight lady starts waving her arms all over the place saying«NOPICTURES, she doesn’t allow it!!» I said«What? For Unilocal and we are ordering more?» No, no, no… and some other lady was in the background watching us. «She does not allow!!!» What the hell? You think we want to steal your recipes and resell or something? Lol. Believe me we’re too lazy. The iced coffee was way watered down and the food on display didn’t look that appealing anyway, it looked old and it was the end of the day. I told her we will just leave then if you’re going to be that rude and she just glared at us shaking her head everywhere. So, out we went. Won’t be back. Threw the coffee away. Very small cramped parking lot and dark interior. What is this place KGB?

A few days ago I ordered a graduation cake and paid 65 dollars for it but when I received it, it said 2106 instead of 2016.

Yes they were rude and racially discriminating towards a good friend of mine for no reason. Like ignoring and being condescending. We were sitting outside which is their only good sitting area on a nice day and all this disgusting cigarette smoke just started blowing in our faces like they wanted us to leave. Not coming back.

Nice little place for coffee and pastries. They have some seating in their front patio around the palm tree at the entrance to the place, which is a nice way to relax. Service here was nice. Enjoyed my double Armenian coffee as well as their version of apple pie, which is a poundcake topped with apple slices and baked. Nice ligher version than the traditional apple pie. Only problem here is that parking situation as the lot is quite small.

The owner is racist disrespectful person. Frankly he’s a psycho lunatic. My friend is African American and they were staring at him and saying n. Words. When my friend asked why is he being stared at, the owner ran out of his back room and stared yelling that if we don’t like it get out. He was so pissed screaming like an old lady. I thought he was gonna fall over and die. I can’t believe they don’t welcome anyone other then their kind. As it turns out, Armenians are nazis after all.

Great pastries, and prices. Rude workers. Aggressively told me and my friend to «move, move, move» so 3 of their staff could sit down for a break. I was shocked considering we’d paid and had already been sitting down, and keep in mind there were plenty of other tables open. Apparently our chair was in their way…

Love this place! I love that all these transplants giving bad reviews are reacting to a simple culture shock, this isnt Starbucks and thats why its great. I dont smoke but I think its great theres still a place that’s not completely controlled by the nanny state, plus its an outdoor patio, calm down! Good food, no-bs Russian vibe. Im a regular here and the culture/language barrier gives it charm.

I’ve been a regular there for last 2 months, but what happened couple days ago, left a very bad taste in me. They did not wish to extend service to my special needs. I’ve been back on my strict diet for weight loss for the last 4 weeks. Everyday, once, and usually between 10am and 3pm, I’ll have half pound of white, plain natural turkey with fresh and raw dill, red basil, green onion, Bell pepper, and cayenne pepper, divided in 2 wraps, and wrapped in lettuce, not bread. This is all my nutrition for all day, ’til same time next day. they don’t have natural turkey, and some of them don’t like to wrap in lettuce instead of bread, and no matter what you instruct and tell not to put in there, they’ll put it in there anyway. I had told the 2 on duty that it was wrong, and in return, they refused service. They said, unless they have the food wrapped in bread, they’ll no longer make me sandwiches! I just want to know, since when does anyone tell customer or client to break his diet, or will be refused service, and since when does anyone pay a food court to beg for service, and be mistreated? To someone on diet like I am, it doesn’t matter if their sweets or burgers are tasty, nor do I care for how inexpensive they are. What matters to me, is their attitude towards listening customers with special needs, and providing them what was asked, not otherwise, and specially when it’s so simple. There are few staff members(the blonde(Mariné)), plus the thick with blue hair, and surprisingly the Asian(Russian speaking) only in this incident) that have been ill mannered, and have absolutely no sense of business. I guess in their twisted heads, everything is backwards, like as if they’re doing you favours, and you owe them. I am an Armenian by heritage, but born in Europe, and I still speak Armenian fluently, but I’m not a Russian speaking Armenian, like they are. This has nothing to do with speaking Russian, but has everything to do with being uncommunicative social misfits. Based on presumption of that mentality, anyone with special needs, is assumed unwelcome! This is very unprofessional!

I found this little neighborhood gem by accident & I’m in love. The first time in I had an amazing hot turkey & cheese croissant and a great latte. Today I ordered another tasty latte along with a ham & cheese crêpe which was stuffed w ham and cheese. Also saw a couple customers with the Borsh. I have never tried it before and decided to order a bowl of traditional meat Borsh soup! I’m am glad I did!!! My love for beets has just grown!!! & the bread that came with it was light & fluffy. Perfect for dipping! As far as costumer service I found everyone to be very lovely, kind, helpful & very pleasant… Aida & Ana are the two ladies that have helped both days. But all my interactions have been above par. Thank you!!! Can’t wait to come back. Going to try a pastrami sandwich next!

Coffee was smooth and bitter. It complimented all their sweet pastries. The sweets were better than their savory like the ham and cheese croissant. It was too salty and lacking in cheese for my taste bud. The tiramisu though was fabulous. It was moist and drenched on the bottom with rum. The berry fruit tart wasn’t as sweet as I expected it to be. There’s plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating. Note that many of the customers here smoke so we opted for the indoor. They do serve food like café sandwiches as well. They had these ice cream(not from America) that I do want to try. It’s one of those packaged ones from the ice cooler. Most likely, if I’m nearby, I would stop by again. It’s a nice pit stop.

My gf and I were out of food and didn’t feel like shopping for groceries so we decided to walk here since it’s very close to our apartment. Here’s the deal: Food = 4 stars — We had the parisenne crêpe and the ham and cheese crêpe which were both very yummy. We also tried their plain croissant which came fresh out of the oven and was also very good. By far the best part of the experience. Customer Service = 3 — There was nothing friendly or warm about the girls behind the counter. They seemed downright miserable to be at work, but the order was prepared well and in a timely fashion. A little smile goes a long way! Ambience = 2 — Come on! It’s called Café Paris! Ambience should be a home run here but instead it has a very cheesy and outdated design with tacky neon/fluorescent signs as the menu, and they clearly did not do research on authentic Parisian café designs. It looks like they went to Home Goods for most of this stuff and thought«This seems European, I’m sure the customers won’t care if it’s not really a French design.» The WORST part of the ambience is the awful techno/club/pop music blaring from the speakers at 9am both inside and on their patio. We’re talking Pitbull, Jason Derulo, Usher. I felt like I was at the douchiest club in LA, not a café in Paris. Honestly, some simple, calming, real French music and design would have made this place a 5 in my book.

Marina was the person who took our order. It was very simple, a vegetarian borsh and two pastries, with an iced coffee. 1. The iced coffee tastes like water, I ended up throwing it away after two attempts of fixing it, asking for more coffee in it, and adding more sugar. 2. The Napoleon was so cold it was extremely difficult to eat. I ate it at home after microwaving it. It didn’t taste like the real Napoleon. 3. Don’t bother with the coconut pastry. It’s dry and bland and really doesn’t have any coconut taste to it at all. 4. The person who ordered the soup has been a vegetarian for over ten years, and they carelessly served them meat borsh. When I asked them to change it, our«waitress» or cashier or whatever position she holds didn’t care, was not apologetic at all, didn’t say sorry, and had someone else replace it. The other girl was extremely polite, sucks I didn’t get her name. Over all it is over priced, nothing like the real Russian pastries you expect, very VERY bland, and the attitude problem that marina has, is just not worth visiting ever again.

This place is awesome! It’s the cutest little hidden coffee shop ever. The food and coffee here is absolutely amazing, and so crazy cheap! I come all time, with my husband, friends, and even for business meetings. It’s just a great little place.

This is one of my favorite pastry shops. They have all my favorite cakes at half the price than other pastries. The croissants are amazing and soups are great. I love that they have borscht and yogurt soup. The Mikado is by far the best in town. I highly recommend this spot to all the locals.

Always coming here, there is a lot of cakes that you can eat. The customer service is friendly, nice and helpful as well. Cute place to go, get some rest after work or during business hours. Got 4 cakes this evening, as «Napoleon», «iris», «honey cake» and something else I don’t even remember, unforgettable teste, but trust me, it worth to try this place at least.
