Located in the heart of Mid-Wilshire, Café Mermaid is another one of Koreatown’s amazing hidden gems. While not only cooking up some delicious breakfast and lunch, they also provide indoor and outdoor seating that overlooks the always bustling Wilshire Boulevard. I highly recommend the Breakfast Burrito and the Chicken Caesar Wrap, but also suggest trying a new item every visit. Friendly staff and great food at an affordable price!

I really liked this place! It is such a cute little café. The prices aren’t too bad either!!! I ordered the california sandwich with turkey and it was delicious! Staff was friendly and it was just a nice atmosphere in general. Also, this is merely a coincidence but while there with my boyfriend, our song came on the radio and made the experience that much better!

Slow, slow service. Went here on a lunch break and waited a long time for a spinach salad. Besides the wait. the food was good. Generous portions and the salad was quite tasty. The café has a cute atmosphere as well. Next time I’ll order ahead

Meh! Never thought on can mess up on grilled cheese but Café Mermaid you have the honor of doing so. Friendly staff. Love that you are always greeted with a smile. However it is a hit or miss with this place. Breakfast Burrito BOMB! Grilled Cheese Meh! But I am sure I would find myself here again and either liking it or vice versa.

As a fairly new resident in K-town, I saw the Café Mermaid before and after Rena(sp?) took charge of the café recently. I really enjoyed the the friendliness of the staff as well as the food. This said, Rena has really elevated the food quality, the Daily specials, the atmosphere and the way they accommodate the customer. They now offer charging stations, healthier drink options and a much more welcoming atmosphere. The food is cooked to order and tastes as if it were cooked in your own kitchen. An absolute must, if you are in Koreatown!

Very convenient to call and either get food delivered or picked-up. To be honest with you; they pay attention to your order which makes it perfect. They don’t just cook your order and tada-they’re done. They do everything at a reasonable time frame. Portions are great for the price. In short-we love it.

My first time having breakfast at Café Mermaid this morning. I had the breakfast special that comes with three pancakes, eggs and choice of meat. The pancakes tasted like every other typical breakfast joint pancakes. The eggs I ordered scrambled and they tasted ok. Not much for scrambled when they were not scrambled while cooked. The sausage was good. The café is clean and staff is nice.

I need my morning coffee before starting work and since moving into the neighborhood, this has been my go-to spot. As Cooper would say, damn good coffee!

Looking for a place to eat for lunch, I came across Café Mermaid. As soon as I walked in, i was greeted by a lady at the register. Their customer service is AMAZING. It shows that their number one priority is customer service which is what all customers want to see when walking into a shop. She was very patient with me and answered all my questions. They have a HUGE selection on their menu with full details of whats included in each meal. I chose the chorizo breakfast burrito, which was what I was craving and boy was i satisfied. The burrito came out quick, and it disappeared quick. If you’re in the area and looking for a place to eat, Café Mermaid is the place to go. I will definitely be back for the breakfast burrito!

Being an abuser of Unilocal I have never been compelled to write my first review. Until I came across this little hole in the wall joint! I love me a great breakfast burrito and came across this gem in search for the best. First things first, working in the food industry myself, i love me a place with great customer service, and from the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile. The girl at the register was very helpful, The menu was quite big but they were very helpful and answered every question I had about the menu. Not for one moment did she look like she was getting irritated with my 50 questions rather she seemed like she was enjoying helping me out! AWESOME! There is a large seating area and a charging station! By the time I got my phone charged and got comfy my food was out and brought to my table. WOW! what quick service! I got a Breakfast Burrito and asked if I can have all the meat inside, and them being awesome as they are did not hesitate and hooked me up at an additional charge of 1 dollar. For a 5 dollar burrito an extra dollar is chump change! When the food arrived I was shocked at how big the size was. You really get the bang for your buck here. First bite, AMAZING! It’s not like your typical breakfast burrito that is overloaded with hashbrowns and eggs, but it is definitely proportioned with the right amount of every ingredient evenly spread out. The gooeyness of the cheese and crunchiness of the bacon. I conquered that monster burrito. Was probably one of the best ones Ive ever had! I will definitely be coming back! Seems like a great place to get some work done, a nice quiet ambiance! Thank Café Mermaid for moving me to write my first review, Keep up the GREATWORK!

Amazing service and open to interchanging ingredients. They made me a fantastic breakfast burrito with spinach and mushrooms, threw in some turkey for good measure! I’m coming back as often as I can.

This café is one of the best I’ve experienced in my cross country road trip from NYC. The dining options are great, the décor beautifully designed, and ambiance perfect for getting work done. Their knockout punch is the breakfast croissant sandwich with a peach mango smoothie. Crack your laptop open and sink your teeth into that savory goodness. I promise you won’t regret it!

Wow. I walked in just to check it out and this place is super cute. Very cozy feel to it. I saw they served boyds coffee which I personally love. Not as bitter or sour as those other overrated coffee places such as starbucks or coffeebean. Let me get to the important stuff. The FOOD! First thing I noticed is the prices are probably the most reasonable you can find especially around the area. They a very good and diverse selection of food options which is good especially for a indecisive fella like me. I just come here look at the menu and choose what feels good to my tummy. Its like the one stop shop along with a crazy selection of drinks. Like really how many places have hawaiin punch anymore? My all time favorite! I had their breakfast burrito which is my favorite. The best I had in a looonggg time. The proportions are always on point with their food. The meat to bread ratio or the meat to potato to salsa ratio just perfect. They also got a little cutie pie working there so thats always a plus!

Wonderful little spot in K-town. We used to live in the apartment building next door and would come to Café Mermaid every Saturday morning. Very kind staff; great food(great portions as well) and very inexpensive. I really miss having this spot just downstairs. Don’t pass it up!

I really want to give this place a decent review. The food is for the most part good… I had a breakfast omelet and coffee for $ 9 bucks. Not bad. But little things that makes all the difference. Like not having AC. Maybe some large fans will do. And I really hate eating off of paper plates.

This place is right around the corner from my house — yet I have never entered until today! I was going to pick up some boring sandwich from subway — which is fairly criminal considering the vast amount of amazing food options in the immediate area — when my boyfriend suggested that we shoot for breakfast sandwiches here instead. They serve breakfast sandwiches all day! A star for that alone I love to eat breakfast late. He had previously come and had the tuna melt which he recommended. Today as we were on the breakfast tip, I got egg sandwich with egg whites(yes they will do it though not on menu) on sour dough bread with Swiss cheese and tomato. He got an egg, Swiss and sausage on a breakfast croissant. We ordered food to go, but the café inside was larger than I expected from the windows outside. There is a tv playing world cup games, and overall it is cute, clean and what you would expect from an essentially daytime only deli of this nature. The food came quick. The staff working there was not particularly friendly/welcoming, but they were prompt and said thank you and that is all that really matters to me. The food was good! Just what you would want from a breakfast sandwich. Plenty of egg whites(sometimes they skimp as people who order egg whites can attest), and the croissant was large and apparently good too. So much better than my first lousy subway suggestion that I felt compelled to write this review. I look forward to going back soon and trying the tuna wrap. My total for two breakfast sandwiches, one with egg whites, one cranberry juice and two shots of espresso over ice was just over $ 14.

It’s a very small café. You may eat in or eat outside and people watch. I have ordered their vegetarian teriyaki. The amount of food I was served was a lot. It cost $ 6.00+tax but it was a lot for the price. You can order lunch early during the day and vice versa for breakfast.
