Previous or old Café Bravo has the best chicken, beef or(lamb?) kabobs. I often eat or order food here, healthy food and very affordable, $ 20.00 for 3 people, hard to beat that! Small Café/Restaurant but very clean, situated in Silverlake, popular with locals! I’ve been dining here about once a month for 3 years now and i guess they changed management, gone were the previous 2 cashiers, also the lamb kabobs taste like beef to me, other than that i had good service experience with Café Bravo! The place is under new management! Renamed Meze Kabob!

Answers received from owner on my vist to Café(B)Ravo today: Why is the«B: in Bravo missing?: «It Blew down in December»… Why has it also been scratched off the logos on the interior?: «The other owner couldnt handle two places» Are you the new owner?: «Yes– But nothing has changed– don’t worry, nothing has changed. 15 minutes later: Is my food almost ready?:(Cheekily) «We cook the chicken, if you want raw chicken, we can give you that» 1 minute later: «CHICKENSANDWICHREADY!» What about the sides that come with it?: «We don’t do that anymore» I thought you said nothing changed?: «That’s the only thing that changed» OK, well, I guess I won’t be back: «OK, good, We won’t miss your business». So, I guess the moral of the story is «Don’t ask questions», and if you do, don’t expect a straight answer. Food was good, though. The«owner» might want to enroll in a community college retail management course, however.

I have never been more disappointed with customer service than the experience I had recently in this filthy place. I used to eat at Café Bravo at least once a week and would bring friends to what I thought was a great atmosphere for customers to dine. It started with being ignored by the 5’6 young lady at the register with light brown hair who took everyone order next to me when I was in the front of the line ready to place my order. She did not greet me and when I asked her nicely to take my order and she gave me a world of attitude that was completely out of line on top of that. When the kitchen door opened at that moment I saw the owner in the backroom standing near the prepped food dipping his finger in dishes with NOGLOVESON! When I asked for my order to be canceled and money back the owner I saw«testing» the customer’s food came to register to yell at me for having high standards. Wow! That was enough for me to walk out upset, hungry and grossed out. At least the chef behind the counter was nice enough to apologize for the poor service I received. I’ve worked in the customer service industry for many years and the one thing a business owner should consider is that no matter how good your product is, no one will buy it if you have shitty service.

This place is awesome! I always come here. The service is great, the food is even better! Chicken kabob plate for me please! The chicken kabob is freaking awesome, so much flavor and it’s cook to perfection. I come here weekly and it’s always tasty. It’s quick, cheap and easy with no dish washing. A++++

The menu here is standard Kabob. I’ve tried many items, and the only ones that really impress are the Chicken Breast Kabob plate and the Lamb Kabob plate. They are very, very good. The chicken breast is generous, tender, juicy high quality chicken. The Lamb is good quality, and has a nice flavor. The plates are really large and you get your pick of sides. The Ikra is very good, the Hummus is decent the Garlic sauce is strong but the rest of the sides are a little plain and kind of average. Service is good and fast. If you are in the mood for some delicious large pieces of chicken breast cooked just right with a warm pita, this hits the spot.

Yum yum yum! This place is the best in the neighborhood for clean, healthy, delicious mediterranean food. Big huge portions at a super great price. My husband and I always split a dish and leave satisfied. The chicken breast kebap is perfect and the Ikra eggplant dip is out of this world!

Have you ever been out with friends and they want to eat at a place or type of food that you’re not thrilled with?, well for me this is one of those times I got out numbered, so suck it up and let’s eat. I ordered the Chicken Kabob plate without rice and substituted salad, well at least what they call a salad anyway Well the salad turned out to be some lettuce topped with a little chopped cucumber and tomato, not really a salad and pretty boring, hummus while not horrible it does not thrill me either, what I did like was the grilled pepper and the nice flavor of the chicken and pita bread… I’ll pass just give me some tortillas!

I’m giving Café Bravo 4 stars for how nice they are, the prices for how much you get(I got the Gyro plate) and how tasty everything is… DESPITE the hummus. To me, the hummus tastes a little off… but still, I like this place. It’s not terrible it’s just not as DELICIOUS as hummus usually is. Still, I recommend this place.

No matter what anyone says, first impressions are important and Café Bravo did not present a very good first impression. When the boyfriend and I got there, the floors badly needed to be swept. It took us over 10 minutes to order because they didn’t have ANYTHING. There were no lamb, pork, or cornish hen kebobs, and no falafels either. Mind you, this was at 1:30PM and they barely opened at 11AM! What were they doing all morning? Didn’t anyone shop for food for the restaurant?! When we got our drink cups, the iced tea machine was out of order so I was forced to drink soda. Our table was not properly wiped down. There was still rice sticking to it, and the situation was the same with the empty tables around us. So for all that, they get zero stars. Two stars are for their food. It was actually pretty good. I got the gyro plate which comes with a generous helping of rice, gyro meat, Greek salad, hummus, yogurt cucumber sauce, and two hot pita breads. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the gyro meat was juicy. However, I wished it was more flavorful. The yogurt cucumber sauce was delicious — it was delightfully dense and creamy. The hummus was average but the Greek salad was very fresh and tasty. My boyfriend got the beef shawarma plate. The beef was tender and juicy and the garlic sauce was extra garlic-y. I was pleasantly surprised with their food because I was expecting some diluted, Americanized version of Mediterranean food. Parking is a little difficult and cramped in their small parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking along Griffith Park Blvd. Meter parking is $ 1/hour and street signs say you can stay there for 10 hours. Haha.

GROUPON Review. My brother got a Groupon for $ 20 just a couple of days before we actually used it. Good call brother. $ 20 got us 2 big plates and an a la carte item of kebabs. SWEET! — Lula Kebab with rice, grape leaves and hummus. NICE! — Lamb Kebab with rice, grape leaves and pickle radish. Nice! — A la carte beef kebab… a bit too dry, but not too bad. The cashier(possibly the owner) was cool too. Easy phone in order, easy pick up, easy Groupon transaction. Will be back for some pretty tasty Kebabs since its so close to the house.

This is one of the best places to grab a sandwich around town on a budget, though you dont have to be on a budget to appreciate this place. I like to get the chicken kabob sandwich, which goes for $ 4.75, and comes with two sides(hummus and those pink things), but you can switch them out for any side without having to pay extra! Their plate options are also good, and come with some amazing rice and two sides. The lamb is fantastic, I definitely recommend getting the lamb plate if you dont want a sandwich. downsides: Not a huge selection or variety Hummus has a different taste and texture than most others, though still good… Sometimes when I order the kabob sandwich it comes in bread like it says on the menu, and sometimes it comes in a pita. Though both are good, I never ordered the pita sandwich, and it’s kind of a bummer when you go to a place pretty often and they arent consistent. The fountain drinks are all sodas or sweetened beverages, except one of those Lipton dispensers that are always too watery. Parking is probably the worst in Los Angeles, and that is an accomplishment in it’s self! It shares a parking lot with a pizza place, a hipster overprices used clothing store, dry cleaners, and a couple other places, so the lot is always full. Be sure to bring some change for a metered spot on the street if youre planning on going here because chances are you wont get a spot in the lot. That aside, everything else is great, and they get your order done pretty fast.

I bought a groupon for this place and figure I can use it on the late nights I get out of class. The staff is very nice here, I called 10 minutes before closing and ordered food to go and the guy was nice enough to take the order. I had the chicken kabob and my roommate had the falafel wrap. Their garlic sauce is super good, and I really like the peppers that come with the meal. The chicken is huge! I thought that one kabob wouldn’t be enough so I ordered another and it ended up being too much! At least it will serve as tomorrow’s lunch. The pita bread is huge and they give you some much food for such a small price.

Excellent middle eastern food for the price. Everything is fresh & many choices of side dishes, so you can try different things everytime. Kabobs are cooked to order, so they come out hot & fresh. Love the beef kabob plate the best $ 7.30. Tasty tender yummy beef, comes with fluffy basmati rice or salad(ask for ½ salad & ½ rice and you get both), choice of 1 side: hummus always good, eggplant delcately smoky, spinach & yogurt thick and creamy, grilled tomato & pepper(you can substitute them for 1 extra side so you can actually get 2 sides, who needs tomato & pepper when you can get an extra side) We always get an extra skewer for $ 2.80 more and it feeds both of us and are always satisfied. Chicken kabobs good choice also. Luleh kabobs are generously seasoned and very tasty. Beef Shawarma so delicious, especially with the charred little nuggets of goodness. All Plates served with 2 pita bread, so you can make your own little wrap sandwiches. Their Quality & Price can’t be beat. True Kabob Heaven!!!

This place’s kabobs is indeed better than Zankou. Café Bravo’s is juicy and well marinated.(But nobody beats Zankou’s chicken). Anyways, the rice is long grain. I ordered two lamb skewers and boyfriend ordered shish kebabs plate. We each got two sides. and we ordered the greek salad. Everything came with lotsa pita breads. It was soo good. And since I live so close here, I think I’m gonna be coming here when the yearning for red meat hits.

They opened Café Bravo next to the pizza place I sometimes go to during my lunch break(it’s in a tiny plaza with a small parking lot) so I decided to check it out. I was in line behind John Cho which was pretty cool haha The prices here are decent. for 7 – 8 dollars you can get a plate with your choice of meat, rice or salad, and 2 sides(make sure you tell them what you want or they’ll give you the grilled tomato and pepper by default as one side) and bread. I usually get steak kabob, sometimes chicken. but you should be careful with the chicken because last time it was undercooked and I had to ask them to cook it some more and it got dry. The portions are filling. I used to get rice, finish the whole plate, then realized it filled me up too much and I’d keep getting food coma when I got back to work. I switched to salad and now the satisfaction is just right :) I’ve tried most of the sides, they have a nice selection(hummus, pickled turnips, tabbouleh, grape leaves, spinach yogurt, chicken salad, corn and bean salad, cucumber tomato salad, ikra, etc…) I always get the ikra, it goes well with the meat. I have brought maybe 5 different coworkers to this place on different days and they all liked it. The cashier even thanked me for bringing in more business every time haha. Nice service and it’s clean

Gosh I really hate doing this to Café Bravo. So many people love it! And I do have to agree, the prices are really good. But honestly, the bf and I didn’t like it very much. I’m sorry to say it; I really wanted to like this place. I got the beef kabob and a chicken lule kabob, and the chicken lule was way better than the beef. That being said, I’d be okay never having either again. The beef was boring, and it didn’t taste very fresh. It was kind of tough and well, just low quality tasting. The chicken lule had good flavor but I wasn’t bowled over. Just okay. The hummus didnt have much flavor, and my eggplant side was also boring. I didn’t like either, honestly. The bf got the chicken schwarma and at the end of the meal he was like«how the hell did you find this place?» I said, «my trusty friends on Unilocal.» I honestly thought I’d like this place but I just didn’t. I know it’s a schlep, but Papa Cristos has AWESOME kabobs at good prices, if anyone is a major kabob fan. Oh well, at least I gave it a whirl…

Nothing special, but its still a pretty good place. Its literally a few shops down from my best friends work, so we went here to grab a bite to eat because it sounded good before we headed out to Hollywood. We both had the chicken sandwich with hummus, and it was alright. I didn’t really like how they just put a couple boneless chicken thighs on a nice loaf of bread, and chicken itself didn’t seem cooked thoroughly and was really fatty. Their hummus however was really good. But worth the 7+ bucks? Not really :/maybe if i come back I’ll get the shwarma plate since they don’t seem to have the shwarma sandwich.

I dined here with a group of 7 adults, 3 toddlers and a baby, so I got to try a lot of the menu items and I have to say: go for the beef kabobs and juicy chicken lule. They were outstanding. I usually like the lamb kabobs, but the beef was definitely tastier here. For the sides, the ikra rules! The hummus was good too. Keep the grilled giant pepper and tomato combo as one of the default sides – they go great with everything. Service is very friendly and professional. Best of all, they are very clean. After wiping off the tables with wet rags, they spray disinfectant on a clean rag and wipe it off again. Prices are great too – less than $ 10 a head.

Outstanding, in taste, value, and service. Went here last night not realizing they close at 9 p.m. — it was about 8:55 when we arrived. They assured us they were still serving, so we went ahead and ordered. My chicken lule kabob plate included a salad(the other option is rice). a side dish(I picked yogurt with spinach), a roasted tomato and pepper(I think you can chose a second side dish if you prefer), and two warm pita breads. The lule kabob, which is ground chicken, was deliciously seasoned and very juicy. My boyfriend’s chicken sandwich was fresh and tasty as well, served on fresh Armenian bread. Our meal for two, including one soda, was less than $ 14. Fresh food, generous portions, and welcoming staff. We can’t wait to return!

OMG. Im so ridiculously psyched to have a kabob place in the neighborhood! I live 2 blocks away, and I will literally come here once a week. And I’ve been told that the one in Glendale is the bomb. Went in tonight for the first time. I was so surprised and happy to see that they had a shawerma plate like Zankou! It came with tahini, hummus, garlic sauce, pickles and lettuce. It was totally great. A lot more fresh and healthy than Zankou, and in some ways better. You can just taste the freshness. It wasn’t greasy at all, yet very moist and flavorful. Inexpensive and yummy! Go, go now!
