FOODPOISONINGBEWARE!!! Why there is no zero star? My friend and I had koji food in diamond bar, Wednesday night. After that, we got food poisoning. I was unable to sleep during night since my stomach was hurting and once my body is flat, I want to throw out! In the morning, I started to commute from bed to restroom. However, it’s not only me!!! My friend suffered from the same thing and even worse he throw out twelve times until now!!! It’s not the end. We still feel horrible.

Bull Kogi? More like Bull Crap! I walked almost 1 mile, backwards, uphill in the snow to try this truck! Well, ok, maybe the mile part and uphill are true; the rest, call it creative license. No sure why I felt so compelled to try a food truck with almost 100 ratings and landing on a 3 star. Perhaps, I am just overdue for a food truck fix? Regardless, I purposely went to try out Kogi today. Got up to the window, placed my order and pulled out my debit card. «Oh, ah, sorry. Our card machine isn’t working…» Looked around, no ATM within an easy distance, walked away. Small business 101 in a failing economy, MAKEITEASYFORYOURCUSTOMER!!!

Love this truck! I see it on Melrose on the weekends and occasionally by the CNN Building in Hollywood. Great value, great taste and always consistent. One of my favorite food trucks in LA. I usually get the Chicken, Pork and Beef tacos… Beef is the best! Haven’t tried the burrito but there’s always next time.

This review is for the time I tried the truck back in July 2010 in downtown LA during lunch time near PWC. I had a horrible experience. I got the pork taco and within 30 minutes of eating it, I swelled up in hives ONMYFACE. It’s not that I’m allergic to pork because it’s one of my favorite meats and I eat pork all the time. I think the meat was bad. or I’m not sure what it was. In my opinion, the quality of meat isn’t so good. I will not be returning.

Lately I’ve been all for trying new food trucks, so when I was in DTLA& saw the Bull Kogi truck across the street, I made an effort to get there. Ordered 3 tacos(Chicken, Beef, & Tofu) — $ 2/each. The presentation was mediocre & the taste was not anything that would necessarily keep me coming back for more. So much for trying something new & exciting. :/More of a let down.

I ended up trying this place because I was in downtown LA during lunch hour, and was hungry. Glad I tried it. They’ve got pretty good daily deals. The day I tried it out they had a deal with a burrito, which I got. The burrito was stuffed with pork, rice, kimchi, and egg. It was good, but I’m not a huge fan of rice so I could’ve used more meat. The tacos were really good and had just the right amount of toppings. If I ran across this truck again I would definitely grab some more tacos.

I used to go to the Bull Kogi truck once a week because I liked their beef burritos. However, I will never give them my business again because I got sick due to food poisoning from them yesterday. Extremely and violently sick. After I told my coworker about my bad experience, she told me that the same thing happened to her a month ago. I hope that the Bull Kogi owners read this review and clean up their act so that this does not happen to another customer again.

I was intending on going to CaCao Mexicattessen to get tacos for dinner but when I parked and walked over there I found that they are closed on Mondays. Bummer. I spotted the Bull Kogi truck right in front and figured, why not? Since I had promised my husband tacos I went with the tacos, I ordered 4 pork and 4 beef tacos, all with no cheese(the idea of mozzarella cheese on korean meat with kimchee didn’t really appeal to me). The cost was 16 even. I waited on the sidewalk with a few other folks and a dude strumming his guitar in the nice warm SoCal evening. It was all quite lovely and it smelled delicious. I took my bounty home to my hungry husband like the home-cooking woman of the house I aspire to be. Aaaaaaand… meh. I’ve experienced better. It wasn’t inedible or anything but I can easily think of a few dozen places I’d go before I ate at Bull Kogi again.

We stumbled upon this truck while walking from MOCA to their Geffen Contemporary location. They’ve got some good lunch specials(burrito, taco, and drink for $ 7). Got the pork taco which had wonderful flavor and the right amount of toppings. The burrito was a good size packed with meat, rice, kimchi, and egg. I preferred the taco over the burrito because I felt the taco was much more flavorful.

Randomly I was driving down La Canada, on Foothill, planning to head to the Bank of America nearby, and saw this. I was kind of hungry since I just woke up, was debating about where to get food and decided why not? Looking at the menu, I opted for the Shrimp Burrito, a little more than the other(about a 50 cent difference), but I say it was well worth it. Love the fact that they added kimchi into the burrito and the shrimp was grilled to perfection. Will stop by this truck soon, but that’s if it’s nearby. I wouldn’t go out of my way just to find it, but if it’s here why not have a taste of Korean-Mexican fusion?

This is yet another copycat kogi truck, so don’t expect kogi quality tacos here. You’re only setting yourself up for disappoint. This truck regularly parks close to our office so I decided to give it a try. The cabbage that they put on their tacos and burritos are sweeter than they should be. The beef and pork are cheap quality meat and at best, chewy. The flavors aren’t too bad, but again, it’s a bit too sweet and they might even sprinkle it with too much msg. If it’s your first time ordering from this truck, I would stay away from the burrito. It’s packed with mostly rice and cabbage and a smidget of eggs and meat. Hey! They charge you only $ 5 for the burrito for a reason. I think I’m being too generous to give them 2 stars. But I thought it was fair given their food isn’t a complete disaster and it is pretty cheap.

So the reason why I’m giving a low rating of 1 star is because the guy who took my order and then served me my burrito was extremely and almost blatantly creepy and rude to me. I ordered on Jefferson/Hoover at 8pm on Thursday, Oct 19th, and when I ordered my Tofu Burrito and handed him my bill, he clearly reached farther than he needed to and basically stroked my hand while taking my money. I am positive that it wasn’t in my head. And then I was made even more sure that it wasn’t just in my head when I reached for my burrito. He tried to stroke my hand again but I was much quicker this time and took my burrito out of his hand really quickly. My hand basically got molested by him. How creepy and rude. And on top of that, this tofu burrito isn’t all that great. It has all sorts of weird flavors in it that I don’t expect and that I don’t like in a tofu burrito. Ugh.

Ooh. After hearing so much about Kogi Korean tacos, it was a shocker to actually stumble across this truck while visiting California. Did I care if this was another knockoff Kogi truck? Naw… I definitely had to stop by and give it a try anyways. The prices are fair. $ 2(plus tax) for a pork taco or a Bull Kogi taco. The Korean-inspired tacos are spicy enough for me, which doesn’t actually say much for people who can handle spice. The meats are moist, flavorful, and hell — it makes for a delicious K-taco. It’s good, but really, it’s overrated for the most part. Worth dropping by for a quick bite if you’re hungry and already parked, but not worth hunting the streets of LA for one of these suckers.

It is pretty ridiculous to simply say, «Oh, this is a wannabe Kogi truck, there’s no point in giving it a chance because it is CLEARLY inferior». If that was always a case, then there would ONLY be Providence, or Urasawa, or whatever, and there would be nowhere for all of us to eat! I was one of those people who was like wait, its BULLkogi? Not Kogi? Wtf. I’m over this. …Until I had their spicy pork burrito. Not as spicy as I’d like, but for $ 5 it’s really flavorful and is a huge meal. And yes, they MAY be riding on the coat tails of Kogi, and they may also have completely ripped off the trademark symbol of the restaurant Chili’s, but it’s still«A-OK» and has saved lunch time at Warner Bros.

The food is ready in minutes. I went to the truck in glendale on grand central. There was a very short line, employees were very nice. Food was clean and very fresh, the meat was melt in your mouth fresh and was not greasy. Had a good mix of vegetables and just enough meat, weren’t cheap with it. everything was from $ 2-$ 6. I’d go again I got the short rib tacos/short rib burrito and kimchi quesadilla. All cooked to perfection, no complains. The only negative side was having to stand around and eat, stops in random location and next to the ordering window there was people placing their food on the truck eating, that was the only negative side.

I was surprised. I didn’t really think I’d like this place(uh, I mean, truck, because it doesn’t exactly have a «place» since it has to pay the parking meter and everything). You see, I don’t like imitators. And I don’t really like either Korean or Mexican food(I’m Korean, a traitor to my own mother country). But in order to do a review for my school newspaper, I had to try at least one thing on the menu here. So I got the kimchi beef taco. And it was really flavorful. I loved the fresh cabbage on top with the sesame seeds, and the beef was tender, juicy, and slightly sweet yet savory. I wish there was more kimchi in there… it was just a tiny sliver, as if the cook dropped a piece there by mistake. I’d give it 4 stars, but I still really have a problem with unoriginality. I mean, isn’t the whole concept about food trucks the freedom of being creative and funky within your own portable, decrepit kitchen? What’s the fun of ripping off somebody else’s concept, logo and all?

Im giving this 3.5 stars. While walking around Melrose we saw this truck parked on the corner of Melrose and Curson Ave. we werent hungry but I won’t pass a chance to try Korean bbq tacos, especially that I havent tried Kogi BBQ taco truck. I ordered the bulgogi taco for $ 2 each. The taco was the size of a street taco and at first bite it tasted sweet, tender just like how korean beef rib meat taste like. Me and the hubby instantly were fans at second bite. It throws your taste buds a little especially if you are expecting mexican style tacos. But this definitely has an addicting taste and I now understand the hype of these Korean tacos and why there is such a following. Mmmm…it is really good. Note: Bull Kogi is parked on Melrose and Curson only on Saturdays.

Bull Kogi is now ALWAYS parked on Jefferson/McClintock at USC, right where I pass everyday to get to/from my apartment and campus… so naturally I had to try it. I had some cash in my wallet today and wanted to grab a quick dinner before taking an exam, and I wasn’t too starving so I got two tacos: the kimchi bullkogi, and the spicy chicken. They came out pretty quickly and they looked like any other tacos. I tasted the Kimchi Bullkogi one, and first of all, I thought they’d be using bulgogi meat(just ’cause of the name) but it was actually galbi meat. It was well flavored with just enough spice, and there was some cheese on it too which I liked. I actually took the second tortillas off both of them because it was too much… the filling satisfied just one tortilla, meaning that the taco wasn’t exactly overflowing with juices/flavor/fillings. Next I tried the spicy chicken, and it was definitely spicier than I expected! It had that kind of spice that creeps up and so those that have low spice-tolerance like me, had a burning tongue soon enough. But both tacos were definitely yummy and a good deal at $ 2 each. Their burritos and bowls don’t look super appetizing so I’ll probably just stick with tacos right now — at a decent price and good flavor, I’ll be tempted over and over again to buy some while biking home!

This one must be the most blatant rip off of the Kogi truck there is. I only got one kimchee beef taco to test how it compared to Kogi. It’s similar but Bull Kogi’s taco had less meat and had slightly less flavor than their competitor. It also had some kimchee thrown in for good measure, which some may or may not like. Prices were the same, too.
