Quick and hot food. We were told they had the whole menu available 40 minutes before closing. Since we were sharing a plate, the cashier recommended to get the Baby Back Ribs and it comes with two sides. Their service is great and really fast. We got our food before we finished paying. The portions for the sides they give are heaping scoops !!! Which is great since we were sharing the plate. They even helped cut the ribs! We order the ribs with mac and cheese and cole slaw. The ribs were okay. It was served with a dry rub and bbq sauce on the side. The meat was tender and fell right off the bones, but lacked seasoning. The mac and cheese wasn’t too great. The cheese sauce was more watery than cheesy. It tasted like the same box mac and cheese you cook at home. The cole slaw was pretty good, it was cold and it wasn’t overpowered with mayonnaise.

Great customer service. They recommended the beef brisket in which I got just the meat, not on a sandwich. The brisket was a filling amount for around 10 bucks.(If you’re not a major piggy) :)The meat was tender, juicy, and delicious. The BBQ sauce was tangy and I prefer sweeter.

For a food court bbq, the meat is really okay. We got some baby back pork ribs, which had a decent amount of meat on the bone and was tender enough to eat. The BBQ sauce on the side tasted really generic though, like a Kraft BBQ sauce from the bottle. The sides we got were a bit subpar, from the bland«seasoned» potatoes(dipped in generic ketchup) to the generic coleslaw(like a watered down version of KFC). All entrees come with what looks like half a hot dog bun slathered in grease(it’s probably butter, but who knows). I guess this joint is for someone who needs something meaty right away. It’s not disgusting, but definitely not something I’d call BBQ either.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a stroll through the grove last night and admire all of the wonderful Christmas decorations. All that walking built up an appetite, so we walked over to the farmer’s market to grab a bite to eat. The cashier recommended the beef tri tip which they are known for and we were not disappointed! My boyfriend and I shared and if we could do it all over again I would order my own plate. The portions are decent for one person but it wasn’t quite big enough for us to share. The tri tip was flavorful and juicy and the bbq sauce was a great compliment without being overly sweet. We ordered a side of corn and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was nothing special but I really enjoyed the corn. I will definitely be coming back when I find myself at the grove and this time I’ll have my own plate! :)

I definitely ordered the WRONG menu item. I meant to order the ½ BBQCHICKEN but mistakenly ordered the chicken breast plate… Whoops. While it got the job done, satisfying my hunger that is, the meat was dry… Thanks to me asking for no BBQSAUCE. My friend ordered the same meal as me except got BBQ on her chicken and holy hot damn, they LOADEDTHESAUCEON! «Would you like some chicken with your BBQSAUCESOUP?!?» That being said, the staff were extremely nice and I would definitely go back, but next time I’ll ask for the ½ chicken, or shoot, maybe the WHOLEONE cause I «cluck» like that! Ha!

Definitely one of those«quantity over quality» types of establishments. I’m not big on dining at the Grove Farmer’s Market — it feels like one giant tourist trap, being that everything’s priced a bit high for what you’re getting and nothing that I’ve had there so far had ever really wowed me. Well, we can add Bryan’s Pit to this unfortunate list of mediocrity. _________________ — The signature plate specials come in pretty substantial portions. If you order the Brisket Plate($ 12.45), for example, you’re going to get a hefty portion of meat, along with a side of bread and your choice of two sides. I went with the Mac & Cheese and the BBQ Potatoes. If only the flavors were as large as the serving sizes! Instead of the explosive, tangy, and smoky flavors that I had been expecting to bite into, the overall taste of the plate’s contents was flat and lacking. I had to blast my brisket with salt, pepper, and BBQ sauce just to make the meat palatable. Such a letdown, especially because the full spread of BBQ was so mouth-watering to look at. (To be fair, the brisket was reasonably tender, but texture always takes a backseat to flavor in my book.) — It would have been more appropriate to rename the Mac & Cheese as simply«Mac,» because there wasn’t any cheese flavor to be found. The blandness of this side dish was very similar to what I’d expect from a boxed/Kraft Mac — and certainly not anything to write home about. As you might have guessed, the BBQ Potatoes didn’t have much BBQ flavor, either. They kinda tasted like chopped home fries topped with a reddish, flavorless powder. __________________ Needless to say, the food at Bryan’s Pit doesn’t justify the higher-than-normal price tag in any way whatsoever. You should definitely pass on this one.

My wife and I had big expectations today from Bryan’s Pit BBQ. We saw something on television a week or so ago and they really gave the impression that this was great and authentic Texas BBQ joint. It wasn’t. It was not horrible BBQ but it did not live up to the hype. My wife ordered the BBQ Brisket sandwich with a side of mac-n– cheese. I asked her how it was and she said«It’s alright.» Now, my wife is from Texas and she knows good BBQ and BBQ brisket sandwich is her favorite. I had the Brisket plate with mac-n-cheese and BBQ beans. Plus I asked for two pork ribs on the side. Both the ribs and the brisket were bland and dry. The BBQ sauce was good but it couldn’t make up for the bland taste. I have had worse but I have had better too. I’ll stick with Chris & Pitt’s BBQ in Whittier. it was an expensive lunch and I probably won’t go back for another visit. Might have just been a bad day but at the prices they charge I don’t think I’ll chance it. 2 ½ stars.

Two words: Overpriced and bland. There’s no need to dig up sentence after sentence describe my disappointment. It’s a tourist trap for people who don’t know good BBQ. If only it tasted as good as it smelled and looked.

I lived in Texas many, many years and this place hit a home run. The Ribs, Chicken and Brisket were all inhaled by the family. A tangy smoky sauce with big heaps of sides filled up the crew. Great Job and thank you

Texture on the brisket was tender, but the lack of a smoke ring was a huge turnoff. The fat was rendered at least, but there didn’t even seem to be a rub or anything on the meat, and the«½ lb» portion was extremely weak. When was the last time any of the employees had tasted their own product? Probably never, because it doesn’t taste bad, but it just doesn’t seem to taste like anything at all. The baked yam is about the size of a tennis ball, and is served with no topping either and adds about $ 2.75 to the tab. Would’ve been nice to throw some cinnamon and brown sugar butter on there. «Bryan’s Real Sh*t Barbecue» would probably be a more apt name for this place. 1 extra star for having cold water available for customers on a hot day.

Went there yesterday on a family trip. Daughter had the baby back ribs and they were tasteless. They had minimal rubs on the bottom that gave some flavor, but overall tasteless. I had the bbq ham sandwich. The taste wasn’t bad, but the bbq potatoes once again had no flavor. They looked like they had a lot of seasoning on them, but I was wrong. The wife had the chicken and you guessed it, no flavor. If you have a choice go elsewhere. This is definitely NOT bbq, but rather boiled or baked meats.

I normally LOVE bbq. So i was super excited that they had one across from where I work at the Farmers Market. But I should have known from trying other restaurants in the farmers market that this one is no different. it’s a tourist trap. It’s overpriced and the quality is below average. I found the chicken to be uneatable and the pork ribs to be tasteless. They give you the BBQ sauce on the side, and I found it very hard to consume. Coleslaw also lacked flavor. If you work or live around the area, you’d know not to eat here. It’s clearly there for the out-of-country tourist to awe about trying«traditional American BBQ».

Why is it not at riverside ! I love this place the food at first I was skeptic about by the look but after biting into it the food was amazing the ribs are great they aren’t stingy with portions! The chicken I thought would be hard and flavor less it turned out to be tender and flavorful!

Great American bbq is hard to find in this town. Bryan’s Pit Bbq located at Farmer’s Market doesn’t do it very well. Been here twice. Nothing taste great. The meats are bland, fatty, and dry especially the brisket. Sides aren’t great either. I’d keep walking.

Hands down the most amazing slide-right-off-the bone beef ribs. Heavily seasoned just the way i like with with the sauciest of barbecue sauce. A little pricey but huge portions nonetheless. Typing this review as i just finished my meal and i feel obligated to give them a high five on my way out!

My girlfriend picked up some dinner for us last week while we waited in line to catch a screening and I have to say her choices were alright. Since we were going to eat standing up she picked up what looked like a shredded beef and a tri tip(both sandwiches) The shredded beef was decent, the BBQ sauce made it outstanding. The tri tip I had the next day and to be honest it tasted pretty damn good even a day later, I’m sure it would have been great if I would have eaten it right when the food was ready. Mac N Cheese was decent. Hope to try them again but with so many food choices I am sure it will be later then sooner.

Walk into the Farmer’s Market from The Grove side and you’ll smell the BBQ. It’s lunch time, okay let me get a brisket sandwich. Wait, they have steamed white rice on the menu? Something tells me this ain’t barbecue in the traditional sense. The sandwich was tasty but not loaded with flavor. The baked beans were okay but not memorable. The sandwich with sides and bottled water came out to something like $ 11. If you’ve never been here, you walk up to the counter and order your food. They’ll give you a receipt and you’ll wait for your plate being prepared. Then you can find an open table in one of the common areas throughout the market. Some of the tables are right there so if there’s more than one of you, someone can find a table and hold while you wait on the food.

If I wasn’t starving and seriously craving BBQ, this place might have received one less star. The wait was long and the food was bland. I waited for a few minutes to order at the counter but the actual wait for the food was horrible. It took at least 15 minutes before they finally called out my number for my plate of BBQ ribs and brisket. The food looks okay, but without the sauce, the dry ribs would have had very little taste. The brisket was dry too and needed an extra helping of sauce. Even then, the sauce tasted like some store bought generic market slather. *sigh* The garlic bread was good though and the mac and cheese actually tasted like something. Go figure. Parking at the Farmer’s Market is free for two hours with validation. There’s so much to try at Farmer’s Market so skip this place and try the Gumbo Pot, Du-Par’s or even the Brazilian Pampas Grill in the next stall.

When I go to the grove I’d say at least 75% of the time(3 out of 4 visits) when I go to eat at Farmer’s Market I already know where I’m going and already am contemplating what to order… at Bryan’s Pit Barbecue. The other times, I may crave the Hoff Brau, the Brazillian BBQ or the Cajun place… but relentlessly, I’d say Bryan’s Pit BBQ is the best. It’s consistently a winner for me. The service is good, the good is great and the portions and pricing is fair, especially for the area and considering BBQ food by nature is expensive(especially any ribs). The roasted potatoes are seasoned well, and are really good, fluffy inside, so not dried out or hard, nor greasy. They taste perfect when you dip them in the BBQ sauce(instead of Ketchup) they give you with your plate. The roasted barbeque pork is tender and flavorful. I’d recommend pork over the beef(I’ve not had the chicken yet) since it’s always tender. Parking is always hit/miss here, and know there’s a difference when getting validation between parking at Farmer’s Market and The Grove and the merchants are divided, so don’t confuse one with the other. Parking at Farmers Market Parking is available in either of the Market’s two convenient lots. Parking rates are enforced 24 hours a day. FARMER’S MARKET Parking Rates WITH Validation 2 hours free validation with purchase from a Farmers Market merchant $ 4 for the third hour $ 1 for each additional 15 minutes $ 20 maximum *Lost ticket pays maximum FARMER’S MARKET Parking Rates WITHOUT Validation $ 2 for each 15 minutes = $ 8 per Hour!!! $ 24 maximum *Lost ticket pays maximum If you want, and I’m killin’ myself for saying this, but I feel generous and I don’t come often enough to impact my daily life… if you park in the lot, the main lot of the Farmer’s Market is typically filled, so the adjacent lot that has the USPS and Chipotle is generally a better lot to get in and out of. If you end up not eating at Farmer’s Market or forgetting to get validated, it’s worth going to buy a lotto ticket at the magazine rack or back to get validated at the place you eat since 1 hr without validation is $ 8 and 2 hours is $ 16, which otherwise would be FREE with validation. If you do decide to park at The Grove, I think it’s 1 hour free, then the 2nd hour is a whoppin’ $ 4.00, so if you go over the 60 minutes, it’s $ 4.00 Self Parking but think is an upgrade to «Two Hours Free» so, to that point, if you’re there for 2 hours go get a magazine at Barnes & Noble or some cheap purchase so in theory you’re getting something other than parking for your $ 4 like something to read or snack on. GROVE Self parking may be accessed from either Fairfax Ave. or The Grove Dr. between Beverly Blvd. and 3rd Street. THEGROVE Self Parking Rates: — FIRSTHOURFREE — $ 4 for the 2nd hour /$ 5 for 3rd hour — $ 1 each 15 minutes thereafter — $ 24 daily max at 7th hour(420 min)
