These are the best Popusas ever! This restaurant is located in a not so good neighborhood, so we always call in & take out the order. I’ve tried many Popusas from other restaurants & hands down these are my favorite!

This business is a little out of place. It’s a Salvadoran restaurant in a primarily Black community. At night there are a lot of people loitering around and it can be a little intimidating, but it’s worth it.
The menu is surprisingly large with items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pupusas are delicious and so are the lucuados. The curtido is wonderfully spicy, exactly the way I like it.
And as I was leaving I met the son of the gal running the show. He explained that this is Mom’s baby and that she’s essentially the only person ever there. She told her kids she needed a restaurant because otherwise she’d just sit at home, bored. So she went out and got one. She’s been cooking up good food and single handedly keeping this business afloat, in a rough neighborhood, for 5 years.
I think that alone deserves a five star review.
Major props to this tough Granny and I can’t wait to try out some of the other things on the menu.
