Its at the Farmers Market by the Grove. YUMMY: If you don’t know by now, I’m a cupcake fiend. I was at the Farmers Market with Jack and I passed by their cupcakes and had to try them.(Disclaimer, this review may not be comprehensive because I only tried their cupcakes). Their peanut butter frosting on the peanut butter cupcake was the best I’ve had at this point of my life. YUCKY: I asked for my cupcakes to go. They put them into these small clear food containers, in which they obviously don’t fit in. They smushed my cupcakes right in front of me. Who does that? My cupcakes were purposefully smushed and I felt my heart break for my poor littly cupcakes. Cupcakes were average, dense and dry. But it is a bread store and not a cupcakery, I should probably try their bread.

I actually can’t say anything about the bread… sadly! :(I’ve seen the Breadworks location on S Sepulveda and Cotner(2306 Cotner Avenue, to be exact) but I guess it’s not listed on the website for a reason. There are hours listed on the door outside, but a guy doing some stuff around the building said that they’re closed for two weeks. Sob. I love Acme bread in the Bay Area, so I’m looking forward to trying the bread here as well.

Excellent desserts. Definitely hits the spot after a nice greasy pizza… mmmm… the bread pudding was very chocolate-chippy. Winner!

I was going to try red velvet and other pastries, but they look like they’ve been sitting(continuous baking maybe?) under the sun all morning. So instead, I bought a blueberry turnover and an apple muffin for my hubby. Had a few bites and it was actually pretty good. They specialize in loaves of bread and rolls, which I will definitely try next time around. Price for Pastries: $ 1.75-$ 2.50 each Farmers Market Parking Lot: Busy on weekends

For 2 years, I’ve heard my coworkers talk about this place, but lament about how it’s closed and dark inside. The other day, while walking by the place to make an appointment for my pooch, I saw that they were opened! There’s no neon sign telling people they were opened, but they sure were. The people there are very very friendly, and they seem like real hard workers who just want your support. I tried their chicken salad sandwich special which had a lot of different yummy things seasoning it. It was delicious. I couldn’t help but finish the entire sandwich because it was that delicious! Had I not had to rush back to work, I could have gotten free fresh from the oven muffins. Unfortunately they wouldn’t have been ready for another 5 or so minutes. Hopefully the guy remembers me next time and gives me some free muffins!

I just stopped in this morning. Unfortunately, they didn’t have much out and the french bread and loaves would be another hour, or so; no worries, because they had just pulled a couple of hot brioche’s from the oven. I got one of those at only $ 3.50, took it home, and made some cinnamon orange french toast with it. Yummmmmmmy :-) I would give this place 5 stars, but I want to try some of their other stuff before I go all the way. Also, I’m wondering if they use organic ingredients for their breads… if so, that would make them definitely at the 5 star mark, because I love to support businesses that use organic ingredients in their foods. I am from the Bay area, and I had an Acme bread bakery less than a mile from my place. Not only are they one of the best artisan bread baking companies you will ever have the chance to get a loaf from, but they also use all organic ingredients in all of the breads, and pastries, that they make. So, I have a high bar.
I definitely will be back to Breadworks, because that brioche might be the beginning of a long, and beautiful, friendship(at least for as long as I am in LA).

This place is amazing! I finally ventured over after a friend served their Ciabatta at dinner. They offer a wide variety of breads and pastries and some sandwiches and salads. I love rye bread and they have about 4 varieties. Friendly service and reasonable prices. Go here and to the Wine House across the street and you have yourself a little get together all planned! This place does whole sale so you’ve probably had some of their stuff from other grocery stores.
