After dinner at Sushi Go(yum!) we planned to head over to Angel City. But wow, there was a line to get in! Never had to wait for Angel City before so we passed and decided to head to Bourbon(the former NOLA’s) Huuge space, it’s advertised as a restaurant/bar/lounge. It wasn’t crowded at all. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. Thank you to the cute and friendly bartender Kayden(I really hope that’s how you spell your name) for taking care of us that night and dealing with our rowdy group! Music was on point with the DJ playing some old school hip hop. There is a dance floor too! I had a a lot of fun and would definitely be back! Maybe even try the food next time! :D

food looks ok. Usually have a beer. Kinda dark and not LA feeling but seems to get busy some nights. I dunno… gave it a few stars cause the bartender’s nice.

Bad service. Only one bartender on a weekend. Hardly any people in here because people keep walking out. Bartender is a nice guy and helpful but I feel bad for him doing it all on his own. 3 bus boys and 1 bartender makes no sense.

This is seriously the dumbest place I’ve ever been in my entire life. We asked for an IPA and the«server» said that the only IPA they had was PBR. We went with a margarita instead; it was surprisingly pretty decent. We ordered food that was smothered in bbq sauce from Von’s. Horrible service. Horrible food. Mediocre drinks. It was a waste of a night… OH and the band that was«all original» that only played shitty covers from Delta Spirit on their Casio keyboard.

Amazing drinks… and even more amazing bartenders! Highly recommend getting there earlier for a bite and a good table. The spaghetti and(home made!) meatballs are delicious can easily be split by two.

Got here at 8:17… Ordered two drinks. EASY drinks… A glass of red wine and a vodka soda… Drinks didn’t touch the table till 8:43 pm. I complained to our server who kept reassuring me that the bartender as «working on our drinks.» When I told the supervisor, an Asian guy, who dropped our drinks off finally, he told me, «I comped your drinks and gave you a heavy pour, that’s all that I can do for you.» Basically it sounded like he was saying, «what more do you want from me?» Also, the place was out of wings, pizza, green bean casserole when I came. This is the first and last time I’ll ever come here. Horrible. Save your time and money and go to wurstkuche across the street and get yourself a bomb ass hot dog. Oh and I also got the calamari which arrived with my drinks… Calamari was served with fkin buffalo sauce… WTF?!

Came here for a goth club night called«The Gathering». Parking sucks at night, you can valet for $ 8 or if you don’t mind walking a couple of blocks you can pay $ 5. Kitcken closes at 10pm :(Ambience is good for a romantic dinner but no space for dancing. Drinks are a bit costly. If you are a hipster you will love the location.

Oh my god this place is so cool. New management since it was NOLA, but they still have an awesome jazz/rock cover band on Tuesday nights. The bar manager, Hayden, is super nice and a talented drink inventor. The Blue Kappatini is his signature drink(not on the menu, ask by name) and though it’s super strong(84 proof) you don’t taste the alcohol. It’s blueberry slush deliciousness. If you really wanna fall off your seat, try his Black Berry Mojotocane(2 ½ shots). I don’t normally drink froufrou drinks, but these were delicious. I will come back for the hospitality, but hoping they class up their menu as they update their kitchen. :)

The one star is for the LIVEBANDONLY tonight!!! This restaurant used to be Nola’s and then it turned into Bourbon Supper Club and then now it’s Bourbon Restaurant and Lounge… very confusing… I purchased a Groupon a couple of months ago and it was about to expired, so I called and made a reservation tonight. The server on the phone was very friendly and took my reservation. When we arrived, we noticed the sign on the building changed to «Bourbon Restaurant…» Slightly confused because the décor looked exactly the same… We noticed a few people at the bar and a couple eating some food and drinks. One of their Servers, Eric, politely greeted us and explained the new transition and ownership. He had asked if we liked to see the menu, and I had explained about my Groupon and he said that they will honor the deal even though it’s a different restaurant. So we sat down and noticed a band starting to set up on the stage and Eric had explained to us that every night, since it’s Grand Opening, they have had different LIVEMUSIC and entertainment. So off to a good start… My husband and I scanned through the menu and then we were immediately disappointed that it wasn’t New Orleans style food. We had bought the Nola’s Groupon hoping to have some creole cuisine, but turns out that the restaurant served traditional American. They had two menus, one for their House Specialty Cocktails and the other for food. The cocktails looked good and it had about 8 or so different drinks and so I ordered the one with the gin and egg whites. It was descent — pretty balanced with the alcohol and not too sweet. Then we checked out the appetizers… wings, calamari, mac and cheese, skewers and sliders… Then the entrees were mainly steak in the $ 30 range and some fish and some chicken dish — nothing appealing and then they had dessert — apple streusel, cheesecake and something else. Sooooooo, we ordered the hot wings, NY strip, Ribeye and the apple streusel. First, came the hot wings. Man! I could tell the chicken was a.) frozen and b.) way too much sauce and way too much vinegar! I could barely get through two and I was done. My hubby ordered the NY and I had the ribeye and boy were we disappointed!!! The plate was HUGE, each plate had a giant slab of meat and lots of brown gravy on top. You get two sides so we chose the mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fries, and mixed vegetables. The mashed potatoes were two GIANT scoops of what it tasted like boxed potatoes, the green bean casserole was soggy and swamped in butter, the fries were thick cut but descent, the mixed vegetables was also swamped with butter. Honestly, the food was so terrible that we felt stupid in spending time and money there! But at that point, what can we do??? Then our server came back and said our Groupon included a dessert and we were thinking maybe the dessert will make up for the losses… Boy, were we WRONG! The server told us that the chef was German and his apple streusel was good so we were like what the hell. The Groupon was $ 59 so mind as well make the most out of it! He came back with two coffes and guess what??? the apple streusel was the worst of all the food!!! It was a big slab of pastry dough, cold hard apples, topped with very strong almond flavored icing with a side of tasteless whipped cream. GOD! this meal just can’t get any worst!!! We basically chatted with the server, and told him that this restaurant was in HUGE trouble. If it wasn’t for the descent drink, fries and the FANTASTICLIVEBAND, I would have refused to pay for the bill. He politely accepted our concerns and without saying much — you know he agreed!!! So please don’t go here for food, come for the LIVE band and the bar. FYI — service charge was not included so we ended up paying an additional $ 26 on top of the $ 59 we spent on Groupon! GOD! WASTEOFMONEY and TIME!

Ate dinner here with the wife and 2 others on 8÷2÷14. Had to say that the food was pretty good. My wife had the fried chicken and I had the Jambalaya. The latter was spicy and very delicious. Service and staff was good. Overall: B+

A good place to go after hours. Pretty laid back. Ambiance bar club mode. Came inside the bar, a female worker fully clothed in a business like outfit with suspenders was on top of the bar, acting like a drunk with cigarette on her mouth and on one hand carrying a bourbon bottle started to dance burlesque style. And in between strip dancing she either smoke, or take a sip of alcohol from bottle of bourbon. She would walk through the audience and stripped her clothes down to her undies, last draw was for her to remove her bras. By then, i turned around and choosed not to see her partially naked body or see her boobies. For a moment I thought. i was at a burlesque or strip club, but no its only an employee doing her skit promoting bourbon. hhmmm not sure if was a smart thing to do. Dj is decent, however, he needs to have better music. Otherwise, this place is ok.

OK so every so often I come to DTLA for a meal. Today I’m trying Bourbon in DTLA. Well let’s just say I was lured in by the menu and selection of IPA they serve here however my favorate drink was the Old Fashioned Bourbon Cocktail and actually I never really tried the menu except for fried calimari which was great. Oh and on Friday nights they have live music performed by locals as I understand. Great place to relax and have a drink.
