Tacos came submerged in liquid and fell apart immediately. Low-quality meat, even for skirt steak and even for a food truck. Other trucks charge $ 2 per taco, but this one charges double that. They started running out of certain items at 1:00, even though they booked the spot from 11:30 — 2:30. Waste of time and money.

This has to be the most over priced tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Tacos are tiny, for about $ 4 each! Rip off. Also they were drenched wet when they came out. I only bought it because I was on a short clock, complete rip off for what you’re getting. We paid $ 32 for 8 tiny tacos with hardly any meat on them, drenched in pico water. Trash.

Expensive! Ok food and servers don’t let you finish your meal. They literally took my meal away before finished eating. Very unsatisfied!

The tacos are legit delicious & flavorful. Carnitas Taco: packed with meat, & the corn tortilla tastes like home. I was surprised at how they didn’t skimp on the meat! Crisp cabbage & flavorful Serrano salsa was the perfect kick of flavors. Beer Battered Fish Taco: shut the front door! This taco was battered and fried to perfection. Juicy fish, golden batter that is not runny on the inside. That is a first for me & I haaaaate battered fish tacos usually because of that! Hands down best fish taco evaaaah to grace my palate. Skirt steak: spicy, & peppery. Tender & good amount of meat but I’m not a fan of pepper so it was my least favorite. Yes. I’m weird. They’re on the west side today in Playa so make sure you stop by and check them out because they are awesome!

I tried this food truck last week at Grand park in LA. I was a little reluctant because I wanted to try something different. There is mexican food everywhere. But I was surprised. I had the skirt steak burrito and it was delicious. I tried a piece of the steak by itself and I should have picked them out and ate them all by themselves. But they were just as delicious in the grilled tortilla and other ingredients in the burrito. They gave me a green salsa which I used liberally on the burrito. It was mild but very delicious. This was a great burrito.

This was fine, but I was expecting way more and the wait was too long. There were only two people in front of me and it took just over 30 minutes to get my food. I got a steak«salad» and a fish taco. The steak was good, but the salad wasn’t so much a salad as it was dry piles of random things with no dressing. There was hardly any lettuce and more rice than I would’ve imagined. The fish taco sounded amazing, but was sadly very bland and small. The sauce was OK, but the fish didn’t taste seasoned at all. The taste, price and portion size aren’t enough to justify coming back.

This was the food truck today at my work. It was good. Nothing crazy good about it but not bad at all. I got the carnitas salad bowl with pinto beans. The carnitas didnt really stand out flavor wise. They were good. Just not too tasty. The heat of the carnitas and pinto beans were medium. Note that I got this salad at 1pm and the truck has been there since 10am. The pinto beans are cooked with bacon. You can see some bacon bits within the beans. I added the guacamole for $ 1.75. Im a big guac buff, and this guac was mid standard for me. I could have done without. The bowl was filling as a whole. It was maybe a bit priced too high but eh its ok. I give this truck a C+. $ 7.50 for carnitas salad bowl + $ 1.75 for adding on guac = $ 9.25. Would I get this again? Maybe. I’d have to be out of lunch options and hungry.

Good but overpriced Tried Border Grill, for the first time, on a whim upon seeing the truck parked at my building today. They were out of fish tacos, so I had two steak tacos. The good news is that the tacos were quite good — all four bites! Nice quality marinated skirt steak with a moderate kick. The bad news is the value. True, good ingredients cost money, and I’m not complaining(as some others here have done) about the tacos being small, per se.(That’s just how big original street tacos were/are, so far as I know: a lot smaller than the crunchy tacos you might get at a Taco Bell.) But the two tacos should cost closer to $ 5 or $ 6, not $ 8. Perhaps Border Grill is aware of customers’ sticker shock, because their receipt states that you get a FREETACO(with that receipt, I mean) with your next purchase of $ 5 or more.

While at the Autry Art Launch, I ordered and received two microscopic chicken tacos for a price tag of $ 8 total. They were so small that when I turned around to show the rest of the line, everyone quickly dispersed to the other food trucks.

What a treat to have the Border Grill truck show up around midnight on the last night of a TV pilot I was working on. I was surprised by how tiny the tacos were, but the taste made up for it. The Cuban chicken taco was the best! The guy on the truck was charming, too. Someone treated the entire cast and crew, so cost is a mystery. Perfect late night fare. :)

For lunch today, went to Border Grill Truck in Warner Bros campus. Food — only okay, nothing out of the ordinary, had cuban chicken taco and a vegan taco with potatoes etc. Also had side order of rice/beans. Black beans were canned, no bean texture, just mush. price — outrageous, 4 dollars for 1 taco, 4 dollar for side order or rice and black beans. If I would have ordered a drink, it was close to 15 dollars. Thats a lot of money for lunch on a food truck. I paid 12 dollars including tip for 2 tacos and side order of rice/beans. Not going back!

Came here on First Fridays. Not my preferred truck, but it had the shortest line. They were out of a lot of tacos by the time we ordered(~8:30PM), which is normally what happens at food trucks. I would just say that Border Grill Truck is just okay. There is nothing particularly special about this truck. You can get better and cheaper tacos in Santa Monica. Also, it takes while to get your food. Not the business. A lot of the items I would have liked to try were sold out, so I have little to comment. I ended up ordering the citrus chicken tacos, I believe. Unless you are really desperate for a taco, I would not choose this truck. Just not worth it. I’ve had better tacos from other trucks at cheaper prices. They do cater though, so if you need them for an event, might be worth the call.

Tried the sweet potato bowl and enjoyed it, the salsa verde I had with it had a kick which I enjoyed. Also had the strawvberry lemonade which was good, but I have to admit it didn’t taste homemade.

I loved this truck. It was 1 of only a few at which I would eat when it came to my office at lunch time. So when I saw the Border Grill truck at West Hollywood’s gay pride festival I was thrilled. My whole family was there and I told them that this truck had amazing food and convinced them all to order. What a HUGEMISTAKE! We ordered carnitas and chicken tacos. The carnitas were dry and full of dry hard fat and the chicken was also dry. We all paid $ 14 each for 2 or 3 inedible tacos and I felt so badly. I had to keep apologizing to my family and I felt just awful that everyone had just wasted their money on this inedible food and were still hungry. Border Grill should be ashamed of themselves.

I’ve seen the Baja Fish Taco on the food channel so many times and always wanted to try it. Decided to give the truck a try finally. Baja Fish Taco — $ 3.75 — Basicly like any other fish taco I have had. I was really hoping to mind blown because of the price but it was just average. It was such a let down. The fish batter was decent but nothing special. The only difference is the aioli but even that wasn’t worth the price. I have had a lot better fish tacos for a lot cheaper.

Raw fish and tamales in a cone… churros in ball form? Sure, why not? CHURROTOTS Might be the sweetest, tastiest balls I’ve ever put in my mouth from a truck. PERUVIANCEVICHEIN A CONE Best ceviche I’ve ever had in a paper cone… also the only ceviche I’ve ever had in a cone… so whatever. GREENCORNTAMALIN A CONE Ditto above, just replace ceviche with tamal. Yum, tasty gimmicks.

At the BORDER GRILL-in in a TRUCK I so enjoy FOODTRUCKSUSUALLY because they are REALLYGOOD this time NOT so much! I suppose the ONLY downfall to FOODTRUCKS is the price to food quantity. For about one month all the companies I work around got together and somehow commissioned FOODTRUCKS to come for lunch time. We will get to try a new food truck. Today was the first day and we got to try the BORDERGRILLTRUCK. I of coursed Unilocal’d them to check out what people were saying and of course to see what the FOOD looked like because I’m always ALLABOUT the FOOD! I decided to get the tacos(Yucatan Pork, Citrus Chicken, Asada, and Potato Rajas). I was going to get one of each until a co-worker warned me not too because you need a magnifying glass to find them and NOTWORTH the $ 3.00 for each. I was REALLY looking forward to trying a NICEVARIETY of their food but my co-workers comment put the KA-BASH on that one! I was NOTSURE how small was small and didn’t want to take the chance on STARVING5 minutes later! So I changed my order to the asada quesadilla and I got the Peruvian Ceviche! Every day is a GREATDAY for CEVICHE! Hey I just rhymed! Hehe! I placed my order and was asked if I wanted to fill out a BIRDERGRILLVIPCLUBCARD which gets you 15% off your entire check everything you dine with them(up to 9 guest) and a FREE meal on your birthday but we’ll have to see if I ACTUALLY get something in the mail! I NEVAEVA been to a truck that has a VIPCLUB and gives you 15% off! Me thinks ye protest much! So now I’m beginning to wonder if this movable feast on wheels is going to be GOOD! Another HUGENOTICEABLE thing was there was NOLINE! There were 5 guys eating lunch from them and it was me and a co-worker. WEIRD… can’t say I have EVA seen a FOODTRUCK with no line. Maybe 11:45 is too early for some people to eat! I get my food in a reasonable amount of time and walk back across the street to eat my lunch at my desk in my cave-acal. First I try the ceviche BECAUSE I LOVECEVICHE and it had NOTOMATOES! It was decent. I could taste the lime, the pungent ginger and pickled onion and the seafood but some of the fish seem to have a chicken texture so I thought it was chicken but THANK the LAWD it wasn’t! A little weird since I was expecting fish but it was NICE and refreshing! It was supposed to be served on a corn tortilla but I got tortilla chips instead! Not a big deal! Next I dove into the asada quesadilla. Who doesn’t like a good quesadilla? It was also mediocre but good! The asada was a bit on the salty said for me and no guac or sour cream to dip it in! But if you’re a jalapeño fan they do load you up! For me those went INTO the trash with a quickness! I was REALLY disappointed at the entire LACKLUSTERLUNCH! Sniff, sniff! I was REALLY hoping for this AMAZINGOVER the top eyes rolling back in my head experience! But after all was said and done I NOW have that HEAVYFEELING that some Mexican food leaves you with, although I think this was Peruvian. I had better Peruvian food if that is the case! I’d probably try them again and get something different TOSEEIFITWASJUST A FLUKYORNOT!

A Thursday at Grand Park, it was a rainy day, but no rain at lunchtime. Nobody was there! I ordered three tacos for $ 3 each. Fish; citrus chicken; and Yucatan Pork. The pork was the best, but I was still hungry after I finished the tacos. The next truck had New York pizza, so I tried a slice. That was good, and the crust was super thin!

My first experience with the Border Grill truck as it parked in front of our office. I will say the lady in front of me did take 10 minutes to order a taco with literally everything on the side. Seriously?!? I will say their service is quite good. The lady taking the order was pleasant and happy. On to the food. The Peruvian ceviche was actually quite delicious. It’s complex in flavors and had decent textural contrast. The spiciness is present yet not overwhelming. The flavors all jumped. The tried the pork tacos and the chicken taco. The pork was a tad bit dry and combined with the corn tortilla, it really made it hard to eat. I was there was more of a salsa or slaw to cut down the dryness of the bite. The chicken had a little more juice to it and made it edible, but wasn’t fantastic. The chicken burrito, unfortunately was too dry and the beans really overwhelmed the dish. It felt very grainy and I don’t know if it was fresh guacamole or not, but it was very difficult to eat. The flavors felt mushed together and I couldn’t really taste what was in it. The rice was good, but the chicken was unevenly cooked. Some bites the meat was perfect and some bites felt really over cooked. I think for a normal taco truck, you can forgive some of the sins but for the amount of money being charged by the Border Grill Truck, I expected better.

Something is wrong when your burrito is 90% beans. Food: Came here with a bunch of people from work who love, love, love Border Grill. I was pretty psyched to try it out since I’d never been and everything on the menu sounded amazing. I ordered the citrus chicken burrito( ) hoping that the portion size would be larger than the tacos. While I was correct in my assumption, I didn’t anticipate that the burrito would contain the amount of chicken usually found in one taco. I think I ate through two thirds of the burrito before I encountered my first piece of chicken. It was also one of the last pieces of chicken. Even worse, the rice and beans were largely unseasoned. Atmosphere: It’s a truck. Props to them for picking one of the swankier locations in Pasadena to hang out. Service: I think they must’ve forgotten about my order or did everything with citrus chicken last because I waited for my burrito for an eternity. I think at least 5 people who had ordered after me got their food before mine came out. Everyone who I came with had finished eating by the time I got my burrito. Synopsis: Maybe my experience was a fluke, but it was bad enough to be rather memorable. I’d pretty much never try this truck again. It was a total rip off.

I came here during the OC Fairground food truck event, which I love! So many good trucks, great space, and beer. weee! :) The Peruvian ceviche is really good, great spice and flavor. I love the cone idea and it is easy to eat. The potato raja tacos yummy too. I also enjoyed that the prices on this truck are not super expensive and the dishes are smaller in size. I want to try ALOT of things when I am at a food truck event. After all, this is suppose to be street food. Easy and portable. I feel a lot of food trucks are loosing sight of that idea. Having items $ 10 – 12 dollars and not being able to eat without a knife and fork and a butt load of napkins, what’s that point? I might as well go to a sit down restaurant. Loved it, I hope they come around to OC more.
