Blaze has a superior crust to Pizza Studio due to using a real pizza oven instead of a rolling conventional oven. In terms of toppings, I prefer Pizza Studio as they have a variety of crusts, topping, sauces, finishing touches and even spices. I have to ASK for black pepper at Blaze when it should be readily available for such a common spice. Recently, Blaze has run out of my favorite ingredients which really does not make for my ideal pizza. Their purchasing manager needs to order ingredients better– how do you run out of CANNED pineapple that you can store in your pantry for months? They have also run out of mushrooms. They should correct it by going to a local market and buying such easy ingredients instead of making the customer suffer and have a less than ideal pizza. Overall, you can still make a pretty tasty pizza at Blaze just hope that all the ingredients are there. They have a crispy, chewy crust and a variety of meats, cheeses and vegetables. They should offer pesto and bbq as a pizza base instead of having to special order it.

I love this place. Staff is really nice. For 7 something you can get the build your own pizza. So you can add any toppings at no extra charge. They have vegan cheese too.

Since my wife is a Vegetarian, she asked the server to kindly change gloves since she was touching pepperonis before she was handling out food. So this Mona Lisa character went off on her by saying«OHMYGOD» and walked away… Oh I felt so bad for this young woman, she had to change her glove for some annoying vegetarian person or a person who might have had some allergy with certain topics. Wow, you made us feel so God damn embarrassed, who the hell you think you are by treating the customers like that? Anyway, the Pizza wasn’t that bad, but it sure didn’t taste that good either after that unprofessional treatment that we got by Mona Lisa.

The pizza here is really, really good! The staff is super friendly and Monalisa made sure I had the perfectly poured beer. 1 star for the staff 1 star for the ridiculous amount of topping options 1 star for the actual pizza 1 star for Monalisa 1 star for the overall enjoyable experience. Will definitely be coming back to this location

It’s like any typical make your own pizza place. I spelt my name out for the worker but they still spelt it wrong… The ingredients were good, I didn’t really like their pesto sauce that much.

I am a huge blaze pizza fan but was super let down by this location. I first experienced Blaze in my hometown of Pasadena and loved the the generous portions of the toppings and the cripsy-crusted pizza. Unfortunately, the experience was not remotely similar. Went to the location because of the convenience from USC and was let down right off the bat. I usually get the green strip but have the pesto as a base instead of a drizzle after cooking. Besides that modification my order is pretty standard. I was really annoyed to see the workers create my pizza; the green stripe is a very simple pie coming with peppers, chicken, garlic, and cheese and with such few ingredients you would think they would be more generous with the toppings. This was not the case, I had never seen such an empty pizza I had to go back and tell them to add more of each thing for it to look remotely similar to a normal pizza. After I got my pizza and sat down I start to car away at my slightly over done pizza. One side of the pie had a blackened crust which wasn’t too appetizing. As I tried to rip off a slice i realized my pizza wasn’t cut at all, it was still one singular piece. I have never had to go up and ask for my pizza to be sliced before; lets just say it was an awkward experience for both me and the worker handing out the pies at the end of the line. The pizza itself in the end wasn’t too horrible but I have never had to work so much to get a simple order at a pizza place. Not really sure about coming back.

I love blaze almost as much as I love pieology. oops that’s right I am comparing the two because they are almost identical. The benefits of coming to blaze, however, is the option of getting whole roasted garlic on top of your pizza, which is a game changer. I also feel as though there are more options at blaze. the crust is also nicer here as well! So why 4 star? Their pesto sauce is wayyyy too oily. you have to pour some oil out just to make edible. and don’t even think about putting that on top of your pizza. You’d be better off getting pesto on the side, trust me.

I’m giving these guys five stars because even at rush hour they are efficient and friendly. Unfortunately they accidentally burned our pizzas and had to toss them out and start over, their call not ours. Josh didn’t bat an eye and immediately offered us a beer on the house, that’s good customer service, and I really appreciate that. Especially considering the staff looks to be all under the age of 21. They’ve been trained well and it shows. I’m guessing they are treated well by their employers because happy employees make for good service. The crust was thin and crispy, the ingredients were fresh. Not bad for fast food, and I do mean fast.

Pizza is made super quick here. we stopped by to grab a quick bite before heading to the Natural History Museum and it was faster than expected. I got a veggie pizza and my Gf got a Vegan Pizza. Both which were really good. The customer service was also pretty good, and they had XX on tap which was a nice surprise! if you’re looking for a quick place to get some pizza thats fast but also good this is the place!

I feel bad writing this review after just one experience, especially since it seems to be an anomaly compared to other reviewers but… I can’t not. I walked in about 1:15 on a Wednesday and there were 4 people in line waiting to have their pizzas made. it took about 5 minutes for me to get to order because the guys working the front(stretching the dough, putting the sauce on…) seemed like they couldn’t care less about the line and moved at the slowest pace ever. There was a very friendly girl that ended up actually making my pizza and taking my money. She was great. Another older(by which I mean, not college age) man was manning the oven. He was also pretty friendly. Those two seemed to be the only ones that knew what they were doing. One star for them I got the pizza, walked all the way back to my office building(8 – 10 minutes depending on lights) and discovered it to be burned. Inedibly burned. So I ate the toppings off my $ 8.50 pizza and was sad. That sad, you can get as many toppings as you want and mine were all good(ham, olives, jalapenos and pineapple). One star for that. I eat at Pizza Studio down the street very often because it’s next door to the hotel I stay at. The staff there is always friendly, line is way faster and I’ve never had a burned bite. I’m not sure I’ll be risking Blaze again any time soon.

A pizza place with fresh dough, vegan cheese options and an endless cornucopia of veggies? Oh hell yes. It’s not a place to contemplate toppings or like, the meaning of life. You gotta be quick on your feet and know what you want. My lactose-intolerant bf and I ordered the veggie pizza(he dealt with the gorgonzola) and piled on the red peppers, artichokes and olives. The end result was a thin-crust MASTERPIECE and I am so glad this place isn’t close to home. I don’t know if it’d be a convenient location if you weren’t a USC student or a music fan headed toward The Shrine… but given the whole lack of options in the immediate area, I vouch for Blaze Pizza

Wow, what a deal! I finally tried this place and got a ton of toppings! All of them were included in the cheap price, so i could have kept adding more and more toppings but felt like I had to keep it reasonable heh. I customized my own with 2 dofferent types of cheese, 4 different types of meat, veggies, and pesto drizzle! It was freaking delicious! The servers were also very nice, smiled, and constantly asked us what else we wanted, so i happily and confortably obliged by adding ingredients to my heart’s desire. Tis was all under $ 10! He pizza looked very gourmet and artisan, and the last server even said genuinely, «enjoy your pizza, and have a nice night.»

4.2 stars! Very impressed by Blaze. Their pizzas are sooo good! I think it’s the texture of the crust, which is just perfectly crispy and chewy! Also, they have such a wide selection of toppings! Dude, they even have basil as a topping. BASIL!!! Additionally, they have half boxes, which is really smart if you want to pack leftovers but don’t want to carry the gigantic pizza box. Overall, the environment inside is also nice. Lots of seating!

Hooray Blaze for rocking the build-your-own trend! The ingredients are fresh and it’s fun watching your pizza come together as you move down the line. Customization options are endless, no extra charge so load up as many ingredients as your heart desires. The toppings/sauce do weigh down the thin crust which makes the pizza top watery — one of my pet peeves — hence the star dock. This may not be a gourmet pie but it’s SPEEDY and not frozen. For a college kid making their way one slice at a time, ideal place to get your pizza fixing.

I ate here for lunch on friday Finally! I knew that this place had opened up, and I was curious about it, since I’m a big fan of Pizza Studio down the street. I love the idea of customizing your own personal pizza, and I also love pizza in general so I needed to check this place out! I couldn’t help but compare it to Pizza Studio, since it’s the same concept and they are of close proximity to each other. The things I liked about Blaze is that the pizza actually looked and felt bigger. I also like how the crust seemed for more fluffy and chewy, which gave each bite kind of a comforting feel, it’s hard to describe, but hopefully that makes sense. I also liked the assortment of meatballs/sausage, and they have a ton of different cheeses(more options than Pizza Studio). Overall, I think Pizza Studio wins in the taste category, the toppings and flavors there are just more vibrant than Blaze. I also like that Pizza Studio has a wide array of crusts to chose from as well as powders to throw on. If I had to pick between the two, I’d definitely go to Pizza Studio. Blaze was delicious and I enjoyed my experience, but pales in comparison to Pizza Studio, which sucks for Blaze since Pizza Studio is literally down the street. On the bright side, it is good to have options, and I wouldn’t mind mixing it up once in awhile and coming here when I’m in the mood for pizza. A plus of this place is that it’s right next door to Cream, where I can grab some delicious cookies and ice cream for dessert.

Yumyum! So happy this opened under Gateway because it makes getting good food really easy for me. The wait is usually around 10 – 15 mins to get in and out of the place and I really like how you get to choose as many toppings as you’d like for the Build Your Own :) I always get the red sauce with sausage, chicken, ham, salami, green peppers, extra sautéed onions, arugula, and bbq sauce. THEBBQSAUCEMAKESTHEPIZZA! Today I got my pizza and it was uncut which kinda made it annoying for me to cut but nothing to make a big deal about. Will definitely come back a lot :)

Blaze’s is a cool concept, but average experience. Similar to Subway, Chipotle, Pieology and Pizza Studio. I’ve been to Blaze a handful of times since they opened, and the fact that they’re new and in a prime location probably contributes to the craze. First, the staff is extremely friendly, all of them look like they’re having a great time doing their job, and in turn, I enjoy myself at the restaurant. When they’re assembling the pizza, it’s a little messy. They pick up the ingredients and slap them onto your pizza. By doing this, the heavier toppings will gather toward the center of the pizza, making it messy when you eat and slide off when you pick it up. The line to begin assembling your pizza moves pretty fast through past the cashier, where they will upsell their very average tasting s’more pie. They heated mine up, so it tasted better. Probably because there’s not enough chocolate or marshmallow in the middle for the taste to be robust. Also, they’re not serving beer and wine yet, even though it’s on the menu. Then, there’s a bottleneck at the pick up. It may only take 180 seconds or something to fire the pizza, but it’s slow to get into the oven, coming out, and distributing. The overall pizza is just decent. I wouldn’t get a plain cheese pizza, as it’s a below average flavor. Load it up with all the toppings and enjoy it as best you can.

The whole Chipotle concept has really taken off! Places are popping up right and left with customizable pizza, burrito bowls, even bibimbap. That said, Blaze is really good. I don’t completely understand why it’s necessary when there’s a Pizza Studio 5 minutes away, but I’m not complaining since it’s closer to me. The two are really similar: they have the exact same concept of unlimited toppings for $ 8 and a couple pre-determined signature pizzas. You go down an assembly line of toppings, choose what you want, and walk out in less than 10 minutes. However, Blaze’s pizzas definitely win in terms of not getting overloaded and soggy with all the toppings. I also love that they have fresh mozzarella and gorgonzola cheeses. Otherwise, I’d say the topping options are pretty similar between here and Pizza Studio. They have plenty of meats(pepperoni, ham, bacon), veggies(artichokes, garlic, fresh basil, jalapeños), cheeses, and sauces. Overall, very affordable prices and great customization options. Friendly customer service, which is a big plus! Definitely coming back here. Go on 3⁄14 for $ 3.14 Pi Day pizzas!

Whoa, this place is damn good. Grabbed lunch here with a few friends on Friday. Came around 2pm to avoid the lunch rush; I wasn’t feeling too hungry so I opted for the Simple Pie(basically your average cheese pizza consisting of mozzarella, sprinkled parmesan, and marinara sauce), and it was very good. They weren’t stingy with any with their ingredients; they actually gave a plethora of sauce, unlike those cheap bastards down at Pizza Studio. Their oven makes for a crispier pizza, more suitable to my liking over the conveyor belt oven which produces a more soggy dough. I’ll definitely be frequenting this place now.
