Used to come here all the time work & lessons kept me close. The service changed lil but food still great!

Love this place. Food is always on point. Always fresh. Lots of healthy options but also plenty of great menu items that satisfy the glutton in me. Their Chili Cheese dogs are delicious! I eat about 3 a week as my office is across the street. They serve Vienna Beef hotdogs which is a reason to give Black Dog 5 stars in itself. Never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch.

I literally start my day at Black Dog! It’s the local shop walking distance from my home and the people behind the counter are fantastic. All the coffee is so fresh. I personally love the cold brew where as my husband prefers the Café Cubano. I get in and out every day with my fix. Love it!

Great place to do work. Fast wifi, nice staff, good coffee. Spent a few hours working here — was very quiet until the lunch rush, but no one bothered me.

This place is great! I often walk my dog here to get a coffee in the morning. They serve Groundworks coffee which is some of the best coffee out there. They are super dog friendly here, and their breakfast burritos are delicious. I highly recommend. Also, I believe a portion of their sales go to homeless shelters for dogs on a certain day of the week. Very charitable :)

This place is a pretty good spot for quick coffee or breakfast/lunch. They have bulletproof coffee, as well as a number of healthy options. They are flexible with menu substitutions and it has a much nicer feel than Starbucks or any of the other commercial coffee chains. It’s never too crowded a nice spot to hang out if to want to get done work done on the laptop. They also have food quality salt and condiments!

Black Dog is close to where I work and we sometimes order breakfast from here. My go-to’s are the Brad Scramble, Mexican Scramble & Breakfast Burrito. Food is good… but not great. Makes for a delicious, filling breakfast but nothing to brag about. Be sure to get extra salsa on the side — it’s the best thing there and will add a great kick to your dish.

Really small unassuming spot. Love the service and coffee is pretty decent. Nice spot for a snack. Dont expect super fast service or even really awesome food. Its great for and nit always crowded. Really chill. Sit inside or outside. Fresh food and semi healthy. I like it..

I love Black Dog! The food is always fresh, soups are like homemade, and their coffee is outstanding; it’s wholesome food, nothing fancy. My favorites are the Greek Salad, carrot cake, and Café Americano. Sandwiches can be a bit heavy on the bread, but they still taste good. Lots of vegetarian options including at least one of the daily soups. The same 4 gals working the counter have been there for at least 3 years(as long as I’ve patronized the business), which tells me the owner must be doing something right. The owner is often there taking customer orders and he’s a big sweetheart.

I work pretty much right across this place and it never called my attention but the other day, I got a chance to try it. My co-workers swear about it so I had the chance to experience it. Well.I’m laying down in my bed now wondering: What’s so special about it? The drinks were ok, the place is small and it takes quite a long time to get your food. So far not a big fan. However, the short rib sandwich and grilled cheese was the business. Great option if you go there! Oh and the service is pretty great. Super sweet ladies that make up for the average of the place itself. Prices are actually pretty decent and the variety of items make up for a lot of things. If you’re around the area you should give it a try. Go with mildly low expectations and you’ll end up very happy.

It’s been about 2 ½ years since my first visit to Black Dog Coffee. I’ve been wanting to go back, and finally did. The sandwiches were every bit as good as I remember. I had the Grilled Cheese and Short Rib Sandwich, $ 8.75. Quite good, and plenty filling. I was full after eating just half of it. It was delicious, and whatever the white sauce was that came with it was terrific. It wasn’t mayo, but it looked like it. Way better though. My friend had the lunch combo. Half sandwich and soup of the day, $ 7.75. Roast Turkey Pesto and black bean soup. The sandwich was great. Soup, a big disappointment, there were hardly any beans in it at all. I asked about it, and they said they were blended in the soup. I literally drank the soup. A real let down. See pic, you’ll see the beans are lacking. It was more of a black bean purée than a soup. The craziest thing was that I asked for an extra knife and for so I could share my food with my friend. I practically had to beg for it, and the woman who worked there actually followed me to my table like I was going to steal them or something. It was crazy. Why should I have to answer a bunch of questions if I want an extra knife and fork so I can eat my meal? Simple answer. I shouldn’t. To end on a positive note. I’d say they’ve done well in the two years. The inside is a lot nicer and cleaner than it was a couple years ago.

Stopped in for coffee before heading to a meeting in Miracle Mile, and the service was super friendly and warm. The menu is extensive from breakfast foods, lunch, sides, and a bunch of coffee options. There is also plenty of seating, and patio seating as well! The man that helped me at the counter was awesome. After ordering and taking a seat, he brought my cappuccino to my table — YOUDON’T GETTHATTYPEOFSERVICEATSTARBUCKSTHATFORSURE! Very comfortable atmosphere if you want to get some work done, or meet up a friend. Not my favorite coffee shop, but a great alternative to the other coffee shops around the block.

Los Angeles, CA: They support Best Friends! All purchases made on Fridays are donated to the national Best Friends no-kill animal rescue organization. We tried their signature Cubano and a standard almond milk Mocha lattes. Both were rich in flavor. We did not partake of the rest of their menu offerings during this visit. Seating is available inside and out, a block east from the La Brea Tar Pits. There’s even an outside water bowl available for poochie guests. [4/23/2015UPDATENOTE: I was contacted by the owner who clarified that his shop was not affiliated with the national chain of the same name. He was very pleasant. My paragraph mentioning that their Black Dog beans could be purchased online has been deleted. He also shared that they use local roaster Groundwork’s Coffee, all blends organic and fair traded, with the exception of their«6 Country Blend» being 85% organic.]

One of those places that I only go to in a pinch. The smell(or perhaps lack of ventilation?) means you feel greasy just sitting there. The food is fine. Grilled cheese sandwich was surprisingly large and not bad. And they do have wifi and plugs up at the front, so I was able to get some work done.

Inexpensive café and coffee shop for a quick lunch if you want sandwiches, soups and salads. Convenient for the offices and businesses in the vicinity of Black Dog. I often accompany my coworkers when they pick up food but this is the first time I actually ordered something from here. Went with the half salad and soup combo. I ordered the Santa Fe Salad and the mixed greens did not taste fresh. There was even slight discoloration in the greens =/the garden vegetable soup tasted much better. The soup came loaded with lots of veggies. I only like this place for the convenience but the food is just OK. Sufficient enough for a quick lunch but nothing spectacular.
