Bel Air Nails and Hair Salon

I almost don’t want to give this magical place away. It is my absolute favorite spot to go for a day of pampering. Nothing fancy but they take great care of you, do a great job and it is reasonably priced. I am a long-​time customer and always will be.

Go down the hill to Sherman Oaks, or Encino — even if you are in a pinch! Really.
I referred to Unilocal before going in, but I was in a pinch, and I was hoping the salon had improved after receiving poor reviews in the past. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
All of the staff members were very nice — in particular the young woman who worked with me. But, it soon became clear that her command of English was not quite up to the job. And, although I made very simple requests, she started using the wrong product on me. She also nicked my cuticle while using a Dremel tool on my nails (a first for me). And, many of the tools she used were covered with a residue from other clients — very high ick-​factor.
Instead of having the usual soothing and relaxing experience, I found myself worrying about the process, breathing air stiff with fumes, while being forced to listen to the rantings on cable news from a large screen T.V. Not a pleasant experience.
The scab on my cuticle is in the process of healing, and my now-​very-​thin nails may take several weeks to grow out — but I learned a very important lesson that I hope to pass on to you:
«Always wait until the Unilocal reviews are good!»

Fine in a pinch. And getting down the hill is not so easy these days. Also, they get a big plus from me, when my dad was dying, they came to the house and gave him a mani pedi… so kind and so gentle…
I love that they are openminded to do things like that…
And we are working on the flower skills. (painting flowers on my toes…)

These women are awesome. They are so much fun. They also sell clothes and they were modeling them during my mani/​pedi, but with no pressure to buy.
Its a bit small but it wasn’t busy at 6 30 pm. I think they also do hair? but its nice, good location if you are in bel air, and not too expensive. They even have somebody there who will give you a massage during your mani if the massage chair isn’t doing it for you
