bought 2 chairs for the office… he did not have them in stock but got them to the office the very next day at $ 43.00 bucks less than the guy just down the block which will remain nameless and was way nicer… I’ve lived in the neighborhood for years and I’m happy I shopped around

I purchased leather Sofa and love seat from Barton along with other furniture. Sofa and Love seat quality seems to be really bad, a layer from the leather started to peel off I was not able to return or exchange, Never buy anything without a warranty speacially when you order from catalog.

n. western ave should really be called the furniture district. and i really wish i would have brought my camera. i hate reviewing businesses that don’t have at least 1 picture. it makes my review look un-certifiable. oh well, guess those are the breaks of being the first to review. after cruising up and down western ave looking for a respectable furniture store, i settled on bartons. why? because bartons is located in between 2 furniture stores which also faces another furniture store. but really, it was because this place had it’s own parking lot. and the word ‘discount’ in it’s name. i didn’t need anything gaudy or modern. i needed a love seat i could comfortably sit in and power nap on while playing xbox. i once played madden 09 for 10 straight hours online. not that i’m bragging but that’s how much i need a comfortable love seat. i hate haggling. probably because i’m no good at it. generally, you haggle to get a cheaper price but somehow i always end up paying more. or buying a 12 piece cooking set when all i wanted was 1 non-stick fry pan. but i digress. most of the furniture places on western seem to be korean owned(masters of the haggle) so i steered away from those places and was somewhat relieved to find a nice elderly armenian fellow working the counter at bartons. we’ll call him, «mr. friend»; because he ended every sentence with ‘my friend’. «any questions ask me, my friend». «you’re a lot stupider that you look, my friend.» just playin. the entire store is pretty small so there wasn’t a great selection of love seats. but it just wasn’t love seats and sofas on display but entire dining, bedroom sets. i guess mr. friend sensed my disappointment because he quickly ushered me into his office and started pulling out encyclopedia sized books of furniture they had in their warehouse. complete with fabric samples. i told mr. friend that i only needed a love seat and after leafing through a few books, found exactly what i wanted. he did try to get me to buy an entire living room set but i stuck to my guns. he quoted me a fair price but also threw in free delivery. score! n. western ave to los feliz isn’t too far but i imagine he may charge for places farther away. but if you haggle i’m sure you can get him to drop the charge. i wasn’t going to take any chances. mr. friend made my shopping experience very pleasant and if i ever do need a living room set, i’ll be seeing mr. friend.
