I have to say this barbacoa place was not what I expected. The moment before I walked in I seen a B at the door I should of left. The place looks dingy and old. I’m all for hole in the wall small business restaurants, however this one was genuinely not good. The owner was unprofessional speaking of her personal things with another customer. I don’t think the food is very fresh. at one point i think I even heard a microwave if I wanted reheated food I would of stayed home .The barbacoa meat was SUPERDRY. The comsome was cold and tasteless. We weren’t even asked what kind of tortillas we wanted and they assumed we wanted flour! I hate flour tortillas while I eat reg food. I only like it with my burritos! My son didn’t even like his rice I tasted it and it tasted too much like spices oregano which was weird to me. Yuk NEVERAGAIN!!!

I told my husband that of ALL the places we visited on our vacation… Barbacoa was my favorite! I had never eaten Cuban cuisine before and I was delighted in the simplicity of the food and the amazing flavors! I just wanted to sample several of the dishes so I tried the black beans, rice, and an empanada. I can’t wait to get back to CA to try this place again! AND the service was outstanding!
