Babycakes NYC

Some of what they have here isn’t all that bad for you, but unfortunately with «health» food, oftentimes swaps are made that aren’t really that great of a choice either and Babycakes embraces a lot of those with their alternate flours and sweeteners. Read the list of ingredients on everything. Sometimes it’s crazy long and half the things you can’t pronounce. If you’re hardcore vegan or gluten free then I think this is a decent option, but if you’re not avoiding those things for reasons of allergies, religion or LA fanaticism then I don’t see a reason to pay double the norm to get your sweet on here. If you keep your treats in moderation then the «real» thing — especially if it’s good quality organic — isn’t any worse for you than complex manufactured substitutes.

A rare and unusual treat for the gluten and dairy sensitive and very friendly cool staff. Of course most people choose the regular ice cream shop right next door since they aren’t quite fat and unhealthy enough, but this place is a nice little gem

I come here too often. When I discovered this VEGAN GLUTEN FREE AND SOMETIMES SOY FREE OR SUGAR FREE I obviously came way too often and probably gained a few pounds BUT worth it. Still my favorite allergy friendly bakery in Los Angeles.
My favorites:
–crumb cake (they have it as a special but they have had it a lot recently)
–everything bagel heated with Onion cream cheese
–cookie sandwich OR what I like to do is get 1 chocolate chip cookie and a frosting «shot» and spread the frosting on myself –it is half the cookies so half the price and half the calories!
–cake toppers or cake tips, inexpensive and just enough cupcake to satisfy your craving.

Being allergic to wheat and dairy is a hindrance but babycakes is a blessing! I’ve tried cupcakes, cookies, muffins and brownies — some made with agave and some baked goods contain cane juice — no refined sugars at all. It’s a nice place to sit and enjoy watching pedestrians on a Sunday.

I just love the fact that they have cupcake tops! For all you cream lovers out there… this is it! It’s like a one to one cream to cake ratio so it’s thin and easy to eat*^^
