BEWARNED. We were in the mood for chinese so I ordered dinner, intending it to be a quiet Anniversary, dining in. I ordered food about 4:30. They said to expect food in about an hour. It didn’t arrive until about 6:45. You guessed it: Cold wontons. Tough spare ribs that got thrown in the trash they were so tough and dry. Shrimp fried rice was made with white rice despite my ordering brown rice and so poorly stir-fried half of the rice was still white. Ordered Orange chicken for the first time here and it was terrible and like something I barely recognized. THEN when the delivery person FINALLY arrived, he wanted me to come out to the curb to meet him after me waiting an excessive amount of time for him… And this was a Monday nite. Can’t say anything was really good. What wasn’t bad was just mediocre.

THISISTHEWORSTPLACE ever. I’m only writing this review to warn other potential customers. I really wish I had read the Unilocal reviews prior to ordering from here. The food was disgusting, and the sushi we ordered was mixed in together even though we asked them to separate it due to a food allergy I have. When my boyfriend went to pick it up, he said the place was empty(during the middle of the day), and the staff was cleaning the floor. Not very inviting or welcoming. Should have taken that as our first clue! Oh, and did I mention the food was awful? Don’t even bother with this place!

I ordered food from here through Grub Hub. The delivery time was an hour but I usually expect that with these services so no shock or issue there. The food I ordered however was beyond disgusting. I had a lobster roll which had no mushrooms, scallions or sauce just some cold lobster pieces on top. Those pieces were fishy, gray and veiny. My other roll had spicy tuna in it, that was like no spicy tuna I’ve ever seen or had. It was a tan color and seriously looked like cat food. I also had some veggie egg rolls which were cold and had the plastic cold sauce container sitting on them. My food is in the trash and I’ve contacted Grub Hub about a refund. I will never go here or order here again. I hope I don’t get sick from the bites of food I had.

You’ll be hard pressed to find better all around chinese in Culver City. Take out is pretty much a must as there is basically no seating inside. Everything is delicious and the lo mein is one of the best I’ve had in the area. The veggies are always noticably fresh too, which can be a problem at many chinese places. If you’re looking for a staple for your line up of take out spots, Asia Kitchen is perfect.

Haven’t ordered from this place in a while. I think they must have a new cook or management because the chicken chow mein is made really well. The ingredients are very good quality. They’ve used white meat chicken and the vegetables are super fresh. I gave them an extra star for giving me utensils and napkins this time. Glad I chose to order here tonight. Yum!

OMG! AWFULAWFULPEOPLE. I can deal with food being long or late on a Friday night. But I cannot deal with a business that doesn’t have accountability and doesn’t speak nicely to their customers. 1hour and 20 minutes to deliver food. I called at the hour mark and they blamed it on traffic, the driver, the food, martians, Republicans and anything else under the sun; everything except admitting fault.(they are approximately 1 mile away) The driver showed up and started yelling at me because I was on the phone with the«owner» who was lying to me about refunding money. Funny how he returned back to the store within 2 minutes, because he was the one who answered the phone when I called AGAIN about refunding the money. I asked for a confirmation number of the refund, which he gave me, but then couldn’t remember it when I asked him to repeat it. He lied about it. After the owner hung up on me, I called and called and called. Finally, the driver answered and came up with a bunch more excuses that my card was never charged. I called BS. Seriously, I know how it works. Charge first, deliver after. Everyone knows that. Not worth the trouble for this kind of silly treatment. I will NEVERAGAIN call them. Too bad this was my first experience.

The owner of the restaurant called me to know what happened, to apologize and explain his point. I’m glad that he did this… I will take my problem as a problem that happened once, not a regular problem. I appreciated the effort to make the things right, because it’s hard to find someone that cares about the customer opinion…

Ordered Chicken shrimp spring rolls which are burnt into a black crisp and not eatable. Delivery guy was far from friendly. When I called about burned rolls I was told that’s just how they make them cuz there is chicken inside. Really? Maybe they should get a tutorial from all the other restaurants that don’t burn their spring rolls into cancer causing black lumps of coal. Won’t order there again.

The people are very nice. Not a place to eat in, two tables but had to share with delivery orders and food prep. It made it feel like I was eating in their home. Good basic sushi rolls, prepared fresh. A lunch special 2 rolls and soup $ 8.00. I’m satisfied

I patronize this restaurant frequent for take-out. The food is always fresh and high quality, but… The whole«fusion» experiment really sux, I wish they have resorted back to traditional Chinese food, less healthy but more FLAVORFUL ! Sit in is very limited, very noisy and not very clean, too busy for them to provide good service. Delivery is non existent in the best or just yucky. I still rate this place at 3 stars, why? Because there is no other place that is better in this neighborhood. And its definitely better than the burger joint(food poisoning) next door… P. S. ask them to chop the stuff smaller, it is usually extremely large chunks.

Update: 06/01/2015 — the manager made an effort to contact me through Unilocal to resolve the issue. I appreciate that. To be fair, I have yet to call him back. I appreciate the effort on his part, but it has not changed my mind about patronizing the restaurant. Original Review: I order my food for delivery through Eat24 app, which is my norm. I would’ve give them four stars, but the delivery service was terrible. I live in a fairly large apartment building, and normally they deliver my food to the door. I even noted in the delivery instructions to please come to my door. I’m 35 weeks pregnant with numbness in my legs. With that, I can’t walk very far without discomfort or having to stop. So the guy calls, telling me he’s out front. The good thing is that the food came fast, but being temporarily disabled, it was kind of a bitch walking to hunt him down. As soon as I met up with him he said«the paper says cash tip» while still holding my food. That just pissed me off. I’m 35 weeks pregnant, numb in the legs, hungry, and your holding my food hostage. Seriously dude? I damn near had to snatch my food out of his hand. I told him that I don’t appreciate his service, considering that you asked for a tip before you gave me my food. I began walking away. Can you believe this fool started following me back to my apartment? Maybe there was a miscommunication or language barrier on his part, but you don’t follow women like that. Not for a tip, not for anything. My husband works in the hospitality industry and he constantly reiterates the significance of a tip. So I tend to be more generous then I should be. However, I work damn hard for my money and for someone to come off as demanding, or a tip is «owed» to them, before completing your service is ridiculous. Their soup and sushi was delicious and affordable, but the shitty service comes at a high cost. That will be the last time I order from them.

I have ordered delivery from this place once and I ordered pickup for the first time yesterday. To my surprise when I arrived they had a big fat B on the door from the health department, I never once seen anyone wash there hands and it is not the most glamorous place by far but I prepaid for my food so I went ahead a got it. The food was not the best and I wish I would have listened to my first mind which was telling me to turn right back around but I didn’t. It is day 2 and I now have stomach issues, I would not recommend this place!

I ordered a delivery from this restaurant today! They were good on time, sushi was tasteful, except for the baked lobster roll, it was dry and didn’t taste that good. The Mongolian chicken was good and the chow mein was decent.

First I understand everyone gets a different experience… but I could not help but give 5 stars! My husband is away on business and i was craving something yummy tonight and found these guys on grub hub. I wanted something delivered without having to order a bunch of stuff since it was just me.(They have a $ 12 order minimum which i think is great!) So I ordered the baked lobster roll and to be honest I wasent expecting much for $ 8.95,but WOW it was way more than I expected and tasted absolutely incredible. I also had the 5 star kung pao, For $ 13.99 I will be eating this for two days! It also was so tasty! So that is why I had to give them five stars, great prices combined with great taste!

Hi, We ordered your food via LA Bites last night. The food was delicious and here are comments: My husband really loved the crispy honey walnut shrimp, even better than in well known Hop Li! For myself, I ordered the chicken chow fun. It was mostly noodles. The chicken was delicious but too little of it! I think you need to have a little more chicken into your orders or it seems like a rip off. Another suggestion would be to ask if for $ 2 or $ 3 more you can add more chicken into the order. At least one can have an option. Next time we will mention when ordering and we will order directly to your phone line. Is there a delivery charge? Thanks!

Got the flier in the mail and happened to be craving some chinese food. Thought I’d go on a whim and give the flier a shot. Most bland chinese food iv ever had in my life! Honestly… how hard is it to f-up chinese take out. The beef chow mein literally tasted like NOTHING! I was chewing nothing, a dry hard tasteless nothing. The rice was under cooked and hard. And the sweet n sour chicken was just sooo bad. Never ordering in from this place again.

As a bachelor, I find myself in a never-ending quest for tasty, cheap and plentiful Chinese food. In every city I’ve ever lived in, I’ve found a go-to Chinese spot, but LA still confounds me. That said, Asia Kitchen just opened up and it partially fits my needs, at least for chow mein, if nothing else. I got the kung pao vegetables($ 9) and the vegetable chow mein($ 9). The kung pao wasn’t great — the sauce was too gooey and thick and had an off-putting sweet flavor. The dish felt like it was 80% sludge-like sauce and 20% vegetables buried underneath said sauce. The vegetable chow mein, however, fared better. This was just your standard noodle dish. Simple, savory and no frills. The portion sizes are large and represent a good value. The service is friendly and fast. Don’t bother eating at the restaurant, though, as it’s cramped and you’ll be forced to make do with a styrofoam plate and flimsy plastic fork. I’ll be back for the chow mein but probably not for anything else.

This place really gets 2.5 stars… they are just in between Meh, I’ve had better and A-ok. I will stat by saying you SHOULDNOT plan on eating at this location. This is pretty much a take out only spot. The entire place is the kitchen with a few tables against one wall where you could theoretically eat but you will never want to. I would honestly avoid the sushi here. Expect only unskilled, overly sauced, horribly western sushi from this place. To be fair, I did not eat the sushi here but I watched the guy making it and I can tell that he doesn’t care about the food he’s making. What I got: Spicy Salt Shrimp… one of the hardest dishes to mess up. And they did an alright job. FYI, some places cook this dish with shell on, others with shell off. Traditionally the more authentic places will do it shell on, but this place is as un-authentic as it gets so expect no shells.(Which is okay because I actually prefer that :)). The usual breading should be just corn starch, nice and crispy but still very light. You could tell that Asia kitchen uses flower or at least a combo of flour and starch because the breading is much thicker than it really should be. The shrimp was also a little over cooked but the serving size was large so you take what you can get. The flavor was what was expected. I would have preferred it to be a little bit spicier and a little bit saltier but definitely passable. IF you get the shrimp to-go, make sure the first thing you do is to open the lid of the container otherwise your shrimp will get completely soggy. So my final thought? If you’re in the Southern West LA area and you are craving Chinese food… go to Hop Li, Hop Woo or ROC or something like that… IF you can’t get your way out to those spots… this place will probably pass… just know what you’re getting into.
