Clean, fresh and affordable sushi. Love this little joint! I’m definitely coming back for my next sushi fix. We use to drive to Sushi Stop for our fixes, which is not far from home but OMG, the trek home in rush hour traffic is madness so I’m excited to finally visit Asa-ya. Mmmm!

Good food and affordable prices but very slow service. They need more help to take food orders.

#16BUCKSandUNDER — For $ 6.50 I had a lunch of freshly prepared Shoyu Ramen at this little Mar Vista-area«hole-in-the-wall,» but it was delicious, affordable and an easy in-and-out with an adjacent free parking lot.

I come here regularly for my fix of fast, cheap and quality sushi. This place is located right on the way home from work so I come here regularly for take out and dine in. I find the customer service extremely friendly — as the ladies are always happy to see me and provide prompt service. There appears to be a cute little cat theme — not a huge fan of cats but it is done very tastefully. I usually order the salmon skin rolls/unagi roll/spicy tuna roll — all of which are very high quality and prepared very promptly. I am not a huge fan of the ramen — as there is room for improvement there. The prices are extremely competitive given the high quality of sushi provided.

Everything is Delicious Ask the Hispanic Cashiers what they recommend if your undecided. They are very helpful and try to please your needs. The Girls are Very Nice people, make you feel comfortable and the Cooks do to. Everyone has a nice positive welcoming vibe. I recommend this place.

Affordable and clean is the best way to describe it. You come in, you order and indulge. Fast and easy.

Such a great place. Food comes fast, tastes great. The people are so sweet and will treat you like you are their most important customer. This place has been my staple since I moved to this neighborhood and I’d suggest giving them a chance. Really, with their prices what is there to loose?

Keep in mind that this is a local hole-in-the-wall fast food Japanese restaurant. You get a good bang for your buck, the service is quick and they have their own little parking lot. I’ve been coming here ever since I was a kid and am never disappointed.

Great fast food Japanese: good portions, good prices. There’s better Japanese at Sakura around the corner but this is a fast food café, great for what it is. Their chicken cutlet is great but sells out fast.

I’m sitting here, in mesa AZ, suffering from a severe lack of food that ranks above anything you’d find at 7 – 11, and all I want to do is drive to California so I can sit inside this place and try to count cats while I wait for my food… my wonderful tempura… my rice… my katsu… my god I hate AZ. Favorite place of all time yum yum! The tori don is very popular here but my favorite would have to be the shrimp tempura roll.

Fast food sushi plain and simple. I originally wanted to rank it two stars for the dingy atmosphere but raised it to 3 due to their cat-filled interior. Taylor Swift would be proud of the way this place is decorated… I digress. Oh yes, the sushi… I was too afraid to order anything for myself but a co-worker of mine wanted a California roll so I picked one up for her. It came out pretty timely, perhaps due to the fact that there were only two other people there, but it was just ok. Better than supermarket sushi but still, fast food sushi.

I love this place for their spicy tuna bowl(spa don.) It’s not on the menu but it is amazing! I have searched this city high and low and have found noting even remotely like it. I hit this place up at least one a week and have their number on speed dial. The only down side is that it’s cash only. Worth it though.

My cousin brought me here for lunch one day as she loves the Katsu. Maybe I should have had it too, because I surely didn’t like what I had: Miso Ramen & Spicy Yellowtail The Yellowtail wasn’t spicy and there was too much of an ingredient that I just didn’t care for. Not sure if you can tell what that ingredient might be, by looking at the photo, but I didn’t like it so it’s not important for me to try and figure it out. I felt the Miso Ramen was ok though. Just a little bit on the bland side. I added a heaping amount of seasoning for taste and that helped. Parking is tight and I’m not sure if street parking is paid or even prohibited. it’s not a full service restaurant — you order, sit down and grab your food when you’re called up. The woman behind the counter was friendly and nice though.

FOOD: decent, though not fancy, family-style Japanese food. The chicken curry and teriyaki are good and they also have a basic sushi/sashimi selection. SERVICE: this is not a full-service place. You order upfront at the counter, and they bring the food to you. You clean off your own table. However, all of the employees and the owners are very polite. AMBIANCE: is very basic, but clean throughout. The owner loves cats and they are prominently displayed throughout the restaurant. This has the feel of a true family-run restaurant. VALUE: is pretty good, with most rice plates starting at $ 5 and going up to about $ 9.

It’s not the best Japanese restaurant, but it’s a nice hole in the wall Japanese fast food Japanese. I always get teriyaki beef with tempura. The sauce isn’t overwhelming. I love that they sell pocky sticks on the side. The chicken Katsu can sell out by dinner time as it is quite popular. Love the friendly staff and fast service!

This is a local hole in the wall. I thought I’d give them another try after spicy tuna rolls an eon ago. Salmon skin roll, pass. CA Roll, fake crab pass. Spicy Tuna, only roll I enjoyed, was falling a part. Noodles/other.unmemorable. Service was weird. I ordered. Lady rung it up, never writing anything down, cooks laughed at each item. No receipt. Weird. I din’t hate it, but there wasn’t too much to like. They are nice enough but need to quality it up.
