This is one of my new favorite place in Westwood! Even though the place is not all that fancy, but the service is very good. They have some legit Italian pasta and you’d finish every bits of sauce like them Italians do. love the PINKSAUCE.

I went for lunch today with a $ 5 coupon from . The grumpy proprietor immediately screamed ‘I don’t accept this piece of paper!’. When I told him I’d just purchased it yesterday he again screamed ‘I don’t care, I will not accept this paper.‘ His restaurant was empty so I can only assume this old bat is crazy.

It was my first time visting Angelino’s Café. Actually, I didn’t know that this place is located in the westwood in 2 years :( I was SOOOO hungry after the school and I love italian food so I and my friend was kind of excited! I ordered Pasta Alla Bolgonese(pasta with pink sauce and mushrooms) and my friend ordered a sandwich(forgot the name of it). Overall, the service was okay and the food was okay, but nothing special about it. I saw the Unilocal review after my visit. Many people liked the pink sauce! Well…for me, it was just a normal sauce and taste of pasta. Also, the place was Way too SMALL. I might visit this place someday.

This is definitely a fun little stop and neatly tucked away in Westwood. The food is great and I love stopping here on lunch breaks in Westwood, but it has some downsides as well. The restaurant is very small(Read: Very.), seating only about 25 people… not good for groups. The menu is a bit small, but most of the food is good, so it’s usually not a problem. Limited drink selection, and you grab a bottle or can out of the fridge when you order– it feels a bit like a convenience store. The person who takes orders is temperamental and not the nicest in the world… If it’s your first time there, you might expect to get yelled at some point during your meal. The outside patio dining is nice, even though the tables are tilted and uneven, but due to the small capacity, you might often get squeezed together or have to wait on a busier day. I do enjoy eating here, and the food is good. A-OK!

My name is Michelle Huang, and I approve of Angelino’s Café. My friend Cecily(who should really start a Unilocal account of her own) and I kind of promised each other that we’d go explore the great restaurants of LA and have food adventures, and this was the first of many, many food dates. We went for dinner on a Thursday night, so there weren’t that many people. The restaurant was empty and there were only two people sitting outside – but when we were ready to order, the owner of the restaurant yelled at us and said that he was too busy to take orders and told us to wait five minutes. That normally would be enough for me to walk out, but since we already decided to eat here, we just exchanged looks. Cecily ordered the Spaghetti alla Carbonara while I ordered the Ravioli. Both came with pink sauce, and they were both SOGOOD. By far the best ravioli I’ve ever had in my life. I tried a little bit of Cecily’s spaghetti and the pasta was really well cooked and I was very amazed by both. I can’t bring myself to give Angelino’s five stars because of the weird service at the beginning of our visit. I think the owner could tell we were annoyed by that, so he really warmed up and was friendly to us by the end. I will be back for sure though, food’s too great to miss out on.

Food was great. However, I also eat at restaurants for customer service. The owner(?) charged me $ 2 without my knowledge for using my credit card, then proceeded to yell at me later, saying I didn’t pay for the water that he had previously told me to grab from the little refrigerator(I assumed this is what the $ 2 was from.) I ordered the Pizza + 1 Topping… he later told me that cheese is the topping so I was charged extra for that, too. Was SO rude to my friend and I, saying«this is the best restaurant in town! If you order the [$ 10 meal] I charge you $ 12!!»(that doesn’t even make sense… –_-)

The restaurant is small, quiet and homey. I had dinner tonight with my best friend on a girls night out and we sat in the restaurant and chatted for an hour after dinner. The owner was really nice and never put the check in front of us to make us feel the need to leave. The service was great and food as well. Carbonara is always good with the amazing pink sauce! Another great choice of pasta is their shrimp pasta with pesto, which is nice and light. I had the daily special grilled salmon with mashed potato. The salmon is so tender and juicy, yummy! The tiramisu is also a must try!!! It’s so good, not too creamy and not too sweet. It’s amazingly addicting. This is definitely the pasta place to go in Westwood.

Ok, so this is the second time I went to Angelino’s and now I remember why it’s been so long. I ordered the ravioli with a side caesar salad. Ravioli was ok… and I mean just ok. All these reviews rave about the pink sauce and I am just not impressed. It’s not bad… kinda think, but definitely nothing to write home about. Caesar salad was $ 6+(for a small side salad!) and probably the worst excuse for a caesar salad I’ve ever had in my life. I would have returned but I ordered to go and didn’t feel like going back. but seriously… brown lettuce, stale crutons and idk what that dressing was but it left a terrible taste in my mouth. I didn’t eat it. Took one bite and threw that $ 6 salad in the trash. Portions are not great that for the price either. The only thing positive i can say is that the owners are very sweet and it’s cozy. Tiny place that makes you feel like someone’s mom cooked for you… even thought the food tastes like it could be purchased in your typical supermarket frozen section.

Jeez I’ve been in and around Westwood for about 8 years and I never tried it until now. It’s never really caught my eye and the neighboring stores have changed hands half a dozen times. But I was craving pasta and not the watery, overcooked pasta from the pizza places in westwood. The bolognese is awesome and so is the pink sauce. The chicken sandwich with pesto is reaallyyyyy good, no weird pre-cooked subway chicken meat here. A heaping plate of potato gnocchi is exactly what I need sometimes. Indoor seating is seriously cramped(maybe 6 – 8 people if you don’t mind being cramped), but the people working here are always nice. Food comes out relatively fast though I’d avoid coming here on a weekday from 12−1pm as I imagine it’s swamped.

**AVERAGEITALIANFOODINWESTWOOD** Decided to eat here for lunch with a friend. PARKING ======== Lunch time is cray-cray. If you find a meter spot, take it. Or go to the Broxton parking lot(first 2 hours free). AMBIANCE ========= Small with a few tables inside and patio. SERVICE ========= Spotty, but friendly. ORDERED ========= SPAGHETTIALLACARBONARA($ 10.50) Served with tasty bacon bits, mushroom, and pink sauce. Of course, you simply CANNOT compare this to the likes of the real-deal dishes in Italy, but I thought it was solid, nothing more. CAPPUCCINO($ 3.95) You are NOT going to get fancy foam artwork, but it is solid with the caffeine. Strong and good sized. OTHERNOTES: I had a bite of my friend’s spinach ravioli and I wasn’t impressed. I could get the same quality at a store(or perhaps better). OVERALL ========= It’s cute and a good place to lounge outside on a warm day or perhaps order-to-go, but still on the fence on actually recommending it. HADBETTER.

This was my favorite restaurant in Westwood. It is family owned, authentic and the food is delightful. Unfortunately, I will never step foot into this place again because of how badly my friends and I were treated yesterday. He asked our friend to get up and leave when she did not order food even though she was sitting among three paying customers. We let him know that we came here all the time and he simply said to us «well…never come again.» It was widely outlandish and completely rude. I’m so sad that I can’t enjoy the wonderful food, but I’ve never been more disrespected at a restaurant. I highly suggest not eating here.

My friend and I were in the area and check out this café based on the high marks on Unilocal. We ordered gnocchi and the special of the day, which was beef raviole. The gnocchi was well prepared. The marinara sauce on the raviole was flavorful; however, the filling was only so-so. The service was attentive. It’s a very casual atmosphere with only 3 small tables inside and a few more outside. We were there for lunch in midweek; most patrons there were from the university. The price was very reasonable for the portion. Overall, the experience was slightly above average. I may return and try other menu items. In addition to pasta dishes, they have pizza and sandwiches.

I was so excited to try this place! I was so surprised by how small it is: inside, there are three small tables(each enough for maybe three people since the tables are against the wall one side) and just enough room for incoming customers to line up and order in front of the counter. Outside, there are four small tables and heaters(which was nice since it was sooo cold that night). I ordered the spaghetti meatball for $ 9.50. It was good, but it didn’t exactly meet the high expectations I had for it… To be fair, I did wait several minutes after it was served to eat it. The bread was great, though: just soft enough on the inside and just a tad crunchy on the outside. The owner was very nice – he chatted with us a bit and told us to eat the food while it was still warm and good, and told us a story about balsamic vinegar at the end of our meal. Overall, I had a pleasant experience; next time, I’ll be sure to eat my spaghetti right away!

I have been here now a total of 4 times. I never really write reviews unless it’s really good or really bad, and I HAD to write a review for this place, because it’s amazing! Previously, I have ordered: Rigatoni, Gnocchi di patate(with pink sauce), Linguine alla Genovese, and Ravioli. Rigatoni — I uploaded the picture here. It’s soooo good! The description sounds simple but maaaan this dish is delish! Totally recommended! Gnocchi di patate(with pink sauce) — It was my first time trying gnocchi. I had ordered it after seeing good reviews about it. It’s so good! You HAVE to ask him«with pink sauce» because I don’t think it originally comes with that. It’s good, filling. awesome!!! Linguine alla Genovese — This is good too, but I felt like it was a bit bland every time I ordered it. So I guess it wasn’t a mistake but just how it’s usually cooked here. If you think it’s bland, just add a bit of salt. Ravioli — It’s also with the pink sauce. MAN the pink sauce is really good! light and creamy! I was walking back from UCLA campus after class and wanted to pick up food from here. So I was across the medical center when I had called the place for an order. He said it would be ready in ten minutes. By the time I got there, it was already almost done. Had to only wait for like 2 minutes. The owner is sweet too. loved it! It’s a hidden gem in westwood! :)

Favorite place to go in westwood. Spinach and Cheese ravioli in pink sause, chicken tender specials on Monday and Tuesday is delicious and filling. Specials typically are: Mon & Tues: Chicken Tender with Lemon sause and Salad Wed: Grilled Tuna Thurs: I forget Fri: Meat Ravioli Just love the small café feel and the quality home cooking you get from there. Try their personal size pizzas to mix things up.

if you really want REAL homemade, cheap Italian food you have to come to Angelino’s. Their tiramisu is homemade and its to die for. The owner makes you feel like family!

DELICIOUS. This place is extremely tiny and cozy. I was taken here on a date, or at least I’m assuming it was a date. Womp, womp. But anywho, he ordered the ravioli, and I ordered the spaghetti alla carbonara. I can’t speak for his ravioli, but boy was I in heaven when I took a bite of the spaghetti alla carbonara. I’d be lying if I said that this wasn’t a heavy dinner. The pink sauce is laden with cream and was infused with the flavor of the bacon bits in the sauce. Like I said, HEAVEN. The pasta was perfectly cooked. There were hints of basil from the shredded basil garnish that topped the pasta when it first came out. I’m also a big fan of mushrooms, so with that thrown into the mix, I was in pasta heaven. PASTA + PINKSAUCE + BACON + MUSHROOMS = LOVE Not to mention, the prices are affordable and starving-college-student-friendly.

Angelino’s Café! Super decent prices($ 10 for pasta) and a nice, homey, and cute ambiance. They offer around 20 different options and is a great stop for lunch. Calling all CHS peeps – they are so close and nearby! I ordered the carbonara pasta($ 9.25). It was yum and filling. Apparently the pink sauce is to die here so I had to try it. It was pretty darn good. It wasn’t oily, not too mushy nor thick with over-reduced sauce, and to boot – it tasted homemade. YUM. The only complaint I have is that the carbonara didn’t have enough bacon, boo to that. But, I enjoyed my meal very much and in fact downed the whole thing in one session! I want to go again to try the other options! Esp the pesto.
