So bummed… went by there today(middle of the day) and they looked like they closed down. Tried calling but number was disconnected. I’m hoping they aren’t closed but the shop had the rollers down and there was no sign saying they were just closed for the day. I’m giving it a one because it was closed or at least there was nothing indicating that maybe they forgot to open for the day. I hope they aren’t closed cuz this was a good one!

If you are in Hollywood and you are desiring inexpensive, high quality vintage clothing and shoes, this should be your first stop. They have a very wide selection of boots, jackets, dresses, jeans, ties, hats, mens’ shirts and womens’ blouses. Even if you don’t intend on buying anything it is still fun to stop in and peruse the neat stuff in there. They pretty much have only clothing though, you’ll be hard pressed to find any vinyl or trinkets or furniture or anything of that sort. But what they do they do well. Certainly worth a stop by.

This place is REALLY awesome! I was in some desperate need of a leather jacket, and I didn’t really like the ones I found at Goodwill or Urban Outfitters(all around $ 88), so I decided to check this place out. Well, I got more than I bargained for! I found the perfect black vintage leather jacket for $ 39 and two pairs of loafers, rounding off to $ 50. NOTBAD!!! I was kind of in a rush because of my car at a meter, but this place has a great selection of everything, not like places where you have to dig around for a long time to find something remotely decent. The workers seemed nice from my short time there, helping me figure out the pricing for the tagless jacket. This is definitely a cool place to shop at and I’ll be making trips here in the near future.

So I am pretty sure this might just be the BEST thrift store I’ve ever been to. Do you remember last season? You know, when women’s cowboy boots went from popular to INSANELY popular? Well, American Vintage has those boots in every style, color, and size you can think of. Literally hundreds of pairs of boots. Many of the pairs are leather, too. Ankle boots? Done. Knee-highs? They’ve got ‘em. They have a lot of vintage T-shirts. A lot less girl-cut styles, but if you’re looking for a guy’s size and you want it to be quirky/nerdy/zany/fabulous, they’ve got all the shirts to make your dreams come true. Cheer up, indie kid. That band shirt is one of a kind, and you can make sure everyone know that you liked This Will Destroy You before they were cool. What I also loved was that everything is organized by color. This makes shopping the rack a lot more enjoyable and, in my opinion, gives the store a boutique feel. I walked out of the store with a silk strapless dress for $ 24 that originally retailed for $ 128. It looked brand new, as did many of the dresses I saw on the rack. What’s more, is $ 24 was a higher priced item. You’ll probably find something you like for much less.

I couldn’t Agree more with Robert C. On the money with the description! I have gone to this Vintage store a year ago and then a few weeks ago. Coming from NYC! and the crazy amount of money majority of the«vintage» stores that have to offer here has nothing compared to the very affordable prices that American Vintage has. Huge variety of fur coats, denim jeans, blouses. I mean the list goes on!!! I can literally spend a day trip in this shop. okay probably 4 hours max, trying on stuff… The sizes I find are a little small just because vintage usually come in small sizes… But if you look carefully, you can find some really great pieces. I’m a huge vintage wh*re shopper. and Love collecting one of a kind pieces. I bought a beautiful black sweater jacket with unique rhinestones and pearls on them for $ 14! A piece that was ones made probably back in 1985. It great condition. SCORE! This shop has everything for everyone! Go take a look! It’s super fun! ENJOY! FROMNYC! XO

Holy Hipster Batman! You could dress all of Los Feliz, half of Silver Lake and the entire non-Latino population of Echo Park from this store. Walked by here countless times, but finally stopped in on the way to the gym. Aside from the huge selection of Cowboy boots, ironic vintage t-shirts, and the other sorts of things you find at a high end thrift shop they have leather jackets galore! I’ve been searching for one for a long time no and I will be back to pick the perfect one out. We’re talking name brand leather for 30 – 50 bux. FOOTNOTE: To the big guy, most sizes are small(hipster geared) and my Holiday Gut had time finding a good fit in most of the rawhide jackets. ps – they also have a huge selection of wedding dress – wtf?
