This was my second time coming since I decided to give this place a second chance after my first experience was horrible. Well, turns out I should’ve stayed with the first impression and avoided this place once and for all. Nonetheless, lesson learned. It takes literally FOREVER to get your food. I took time this time to make sure I wasn’t tripping last time and it took exactly 45 mins to get my food since my order was first taken. All that was ordered was a hamburger special, a pollo encebollado plate, and 2 horchatas(for me and hubby). Apart from that, when I first walked in we sat at a table for like 7 mins like dummies and no one came to give us some menus or offer us any drinks(it was 100 degrees outside and I was in scrubs since I had just come out of work). Long story short, the food was not worth the wait plus the waiter had attitude. Avoid this place.

Horrible place! Restroom too small. Customer service sucks. The food has a reheat taste.

This place has definitely changed these past years for the better. The decorations & murals are still a bit of an eyesore but I don’t come here for the décor. I come for their AMAZING pupusas and caldo de res! Their pupusas are unlike any other I have tried. Even though I’m Mexican-American I can’t get enough of Central American food! The pupusas are big, moist, greasy, & flavorful. The caldo de res tastes homemade and gives me a warm & nostalgic feeling. Whenever I order the platanos they taste the same, delicious. They are never burned or undercooked. I deducted a star because they need to work on getting food out quicker. They say it will be 15 – 20 minutes for my food and turns into a 30 – 45 minute wait. I suggest calling 30 minutes ahead to place your order and by the time it’s done, you will be hungry! I love this place!

Wouldn’t have even seen this place if it wasn’t for the neon«pupusas» sign. Salvadorean food/meal basics ranging from $ 4.50 for a burrito to $ 10.50 steak and onions… Pupusas are usually $ 1.75(for the basic ones — bean, cheese, revuelta) but they have a pupusa«happy hour» when they’re on special for $ 1.25: Mon/Wed/Thur: 9am-2pm Tues/Fri: All day Huge pupusas, but so-so in the flavor department.

I thought I reviewed this a while ago, not sure what happened to it. Anyway, I’ve been going here for a few years now mostly out of convenience but I do like their pupusas a lot compared to some other places. Lately I’ve only been ordering the beans&cheese pupusas. I also like their huevos con chorizo breakfast and my boyfriend likes their pan relleno but you have to specify that you want the indio chicken, the first time they gave us the regular one and we didn’t like it that much. The only con is that it can take a while for your food to come. Which means everything is made fresh, but it’s annoying when they say it will be done in 15 minutes and it actually takes closer to 25 – 30. So don’t come here if you’re starved and want food right away. Warning: they have signs about $ 1.25 pupusas on Tuesdays, but that is for a smaller pupusa than what they normally serve. Not really worth it in my opinion.

It was called pan relleno… filled bread. Yeah, that’s a thrilling description. I order then immediately wish I’d ordered some beans or rice. «This is just a sandwich» I think. «I’m going to want a little more.» The girl says they’re usually made with chicken and that it’ll take a few minutes so I enjoy a few chips and wait. She comes back around with a sandwich twice the size I expected piled high with bell peppers, tomato, radishes. The thing’s even got lettuce sticking out the back like tail feathers. A chicken sandwich shaped like a chicken! It’s almost impossible to pick up but lends itself nicely to being picked apart by hand. The chicken is delicious, the bread is wonderful and I’m nearly half done before I figure out that there’s green beans in this thing. It’s filling and delicious and I’m really happy I skipped the rice and beans. Outside was a bit chilly so I stayed in their tiny enclosed dining area but on a warm summer night the patio would definitely be the place to be. Fun surroundings, great food, sweet service. You can hardly ask for more.
