This is a magical place tucked away on the top floor of Madang! I get enchanted every time I walk in here — the combination of the old books and amazingly low prices transport you into a different world. Like others have noted, although the majority of the books here are Korean, there is surprisingly a good collection of English books that range from classics to more academic topics. There are also plenty of places for you to sit and spend hours here without being questioned and a bathroom in the back wall near the cashiers. Become a member and you will receive discounts or free mugs once you accumulate enough points. Pro tip: validation here will give you 4 hours free at the Madang Mall parking lot.

We really enjoyed our visit. It has a huge selection of Korean books and has a decent selection of English books. If you are looking for English children or youth books it’s a good place.

visited it today & I bought 4 amazing books! they are in great conditions & don’t even looked used! For now on, I will come here before going to BN to buy my books(: I also love how clean it is & how organized they are :3& their cashier is absolutely friendly! They don’t have a lot of selections for young adults vs the last book store but if I was in a rush or had limited time, I would defiantly come here(: Would’ve been 5⁄5 but I would love to use their website but I have no idea how to change the website to english): if anyone knows please message me(:

I love book stores, period. I am sad about no more Border’s or Barns & Nobles, etc. I don’t know much about Aladin Books chains from Korea, though this one is very nice. Whenever I meet my friends at Madang for lunch, I check the Aladin. I bought 2 books yesterday. They were not much cheaper than the new books. Walking between the book shelves, reading the titles or authors is just priceless! I wish there’re more Korean e-books.

My new go-to used bookstore! SOHAPPY. We were in the mall for the showing of Interstellar at CGV, had about a good hour to kill, so stopped by the new H Mart, wasted a significant amount of time at Daiso, and THEN noticed this bookstore as we were ready to head in to the theater. Damnit, wish I had noticed it sooner! Quickly went in to check to see if they had an American section, and so they did! My cousin and I have similar interests and have pretty sharp understandings of what each other would like, so we were just going berserk in there! «Omg, look! They have Big Fish!» «____!, have you read this Amy Tan novel?!» «Jam! You’re going to love this one!!!» It is a small section considering the size of the bookstore, but they’ve got a lot of great American novels to offer! From philosophy to fiction, science to historical, it’s awesome! For a used bookstore, the prices are higher than most as a lot of them are in GREAT condition. I found some at $ 2 – 4 range, but some can get as high as $ 12, especially if they’re classics. Didn’t care how uncomfortable sitting through a 3-hour movie with a bag of bulky books was going to be, I couldn’t leave without purchasing them! Super happy with my finds! I left the store with One Day, Odd Girl Out, My Name is Red, and The Pillars of the Earth. Though I have a copy of Anna Karenina at home, repurchased it since it was a different cover art hehe.(I have a soft spot for Anna Karenina one of the reasons being that it was such a significant part of the storyline to The Elegance of the Hedgehog, which is also another great read. If you haven’t read it, you must! But it will make you bawl.)

Located inside MADANG Mall, Aladdin is truly an awesome place. It was like walking into a Korean B&N. I was able to find good books for my parents and they were so cheap. Be sure to spend some time checking out their old Korean CD collections. If you grew up in the 90’s, it’ll bring back memories :)

One of my to go places in KTOWN. This place is a MUST for me. They have a large collection of books. They also have books written in English at a decent price. My brother ended up getting 6 books that cost us $ 11. The books were gently used and the price was decent. When I’m in LA again, I’ll stop by this place. LOVELOVELOVE.

A very spacious place for bibliophiles! Well, the books here are mostly in Korean so if you are NOT korean then its probably better to go to Barnes & Nobles nearby at the Grove. They DO carry some books in English but selections are pretty low compared to Korean books. They have restrooms in the store and have many tables and benches to sit down and read your books before making a purchase. I always stop by here wheh I am in this Madang Mall. Good place to spend time reading and find good used books for very decent prices.

I hope they stay in business for a long time! Most of the books are like new and cheaper than Amazon. The male staff is very friendly and helpful. The bookstore is clean and well organized. I will be buying and selling my books to this store! Love love love

Best deals are always on the front isle and on the back section: P This is my hidden gem for used English books! Got H.P. Lovecraft’s Necronomicon here for only $ 10! It’s usually $ 35 – 40 at Barnes and Noble, and I got mine for such a great bargain! It was in such a mint condition too! This is the best store that ever happened in MaDang!

This bookstore is amazing. The English book section has everything from pop culture to marketing and business texts. At first I had my doubts, thinking this was a korean-only book store, but randomly called them since I needed a copy of Mockingjay in a jiffy. They had all sorts of recent books such as the complete Catching Fire and Divergent book series to Malcolm Gladwell to the recent book on Steve Jobs(being made into a movie). The prices were 30 to 50% of what you would pay at Barnes and Nobles. They also buy books back as well. I have bought several books from this store already, please come here if you looking for a title. You will never pay full retail price again.

Aladdin Used Books is on the third floor of a modern Korean shopping plaza with lots of interesting shops and coffee places. I parked on the street(25 cents for 15 minutes) but later discovered there is an attached garage. The store is much tider and better organized than many used bookstores. The English selection is mostly at the back, except for one display area near the front door. Not a huge English inventory but very fair prices(from the few I checked). Check it out and then enjoy something at one of the restaurants/bakeries/coffee bars in the complex.

The selection of used books was surprisingly diverse. Although this place is no Barnes & Nobles, there is a wide selection of books and CD’s. I was also pleased to see that most of the used books were in «like new» conditions. It is predominantly a Korean bookstore, but they do have an all English section in the back. The employees were all very helpful and make sure to sign up for their membership!

I LOVE Aladdin bookstore! I’ve come here many times and each time I find what I need. All the books are in great/like-new condition and the interior of the store is very clean. Almost all the books I found were better prices than competitors(other bookstores and Amazon) and in great condition so I definitely recommend checking this place out. Even if you’re just in the area for a bit, I recommend stopping by. There’s lots of interesting titles here and it always feels good to support local bookstores.

Love this place! Doesn’t seem like a used bookstore at all considering a lot of the books seemed either brand new or close ro new. It’s very clean and nicely laid out-I felt like I was in any other book store in Korea. There were a few benches and a table and chairs by the front as well as in the kids section. Obviously it wasn’t no Barnes and Nobles but it was fun to check out all the korean/english books and classic cds. Gotta support the bookstores! Prices weren’t as low as I expected but and not as close to Amazon prices but for a ktown bookstore it was pretty cool. Would be back again.

Fun addition to Madang Plaza. Tons of used Korean books(about half off the cover prices), a smaller selection of English books, and a dozen employees busily scanning everything with their hand-held scan guns. Still buying CDs? The KPop selection is pretty good — I nabbed the new Jaebum Park release for a fraction of the list price. Enough with the tatts already, Jaebum!
