I came here after finding great reviews on Unilocal and boy — I absolutely love this place! I had a hard time finding the place because the strip mall looks completely abandoned, but lo, and behold — this little diner is thriving! We walked in and were immediately greeted warmly by Eunice, the kind Korean lady who owns the place with her husband Isaac. The place just looks well-done. The menu’s have character to it, the décor is tasteful, and the place is clean. I loved how Eunice took the time to write down our names and intentionally called us by name multiple times during our visit. She clearly knew the names of pretty much every customer that walked in. There were so many regulars that I felt like I had found this little hidden treasure. I ordered the Denver Omelette with hash browns and toast, and my friend ordered the chicken wings with hash browns and an English muffin. You get a great value for what you pay here. I liked the coffee and my friend was raving about how good the orange juice was, haha. One of the customers(I felt) was very rude and impatient, but the staff handled it with tact and kindness, which garnered my respect. Cipriano(I hope that’s how you spell it?) was also waiting tables and he was very kind. From the reviews, it looks like these same 3 people have been running this joint for 25 years! That’s incredible to me. We left with a warm goodbye and I know that I am going to be a regular here!

OMG! I totally forgot about this place. Way back in the early eighties when I was working in the original Crenshaw Shopping Center, we used to order breakfast and lunch from this place. I have personally never set foot in this establishment until today. And if the new Kaiser Hospital venture won’t tear it down, I will be back. I grew up around down the street from Aki’s Village Inn and my dad still lives near there. I try to take him to breakfast or lunch a few times a month. I Unilocaled his zip code and came up with this place. I didn’t think anything was still open over here because of the pending construction. I told my dad where we were going and he too didn’t think anything was still here. To our enjoyment and surprise, Aki’s Village Inn is our new spot! The breakfast I had was simple, two eggs, four strips of bacon, toast, & buttery grits. Great diner coffee. The service was personable and fast. The meal was perfect. This reminded me of the weekend breakfasts my mother made. My mid 70’s year old dad basically had the same but, he went healthy, egg whites & turkey sausage. The waitress has been working there for over 25 years and knew nearly EVERYONE by name. My dad even ran into one of the members of his church. This is the spot if you want a good southern breakfast. Forgot to take pictures as I was so happy to dig into my meal. Delicious!

Cool little breakfast joint in the middle of the hood. Everyone in there asked us what the hell we were doing there. But the breakfast was great and cheap. The cook, who I assume is the owner, was so friendly and happy to be serving their food. Cash only.

Everytime I come to LA I make sure I stop by Village Inn for some of the best classic American breakfast I’ve ever had. I love bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes and Isaac does it all the best. Eunice and Cipriano, the servers, are very kind and quick. A quiet and pleasant place with delicious food — what more could you ask for? This place needs more reviews. Just keep in mind it’s cash only. Love this place!

Breakfast in the hood, is all to the good. If you don’t map this place and have never been here, you may not find it. It’s in a rundown strip mall, that has a handful of stores, with a dirt laced, loose gravel parking lot. Across from Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza. Walking up to the restaurant, you’d think it’s a miniature house/odd diner. It looks empty but it isn’t, lots of people are sitting at the bar stool area. You seat yourself. And patron after patron was rolling in to pick up to-go orders. You can tell those that gather here have been regulars for decades. I may have given them a 5 if it didn’t take the waitress almost 11 plus minutes to greet us. Like I said, it didn’t look busy but I guess for a Saturday morning it was. Ordered: Pork Chops & Eggs, Corned Beef Hash & Eggs, w/sausage links, 2 Hot Cakes and coffee. Simple, plain and downright tip top. Energizing grub, not too oily, heavy or overly seasoned. Seemed just right. What I dug the most about this place is how friendly the customers are to each other. For us out-of-towners, we were made to feel right at home. The lady might need a little help running the place swifter at times, otherwise, it’s a sufficient little cottage to grab breakfast in and I’d joyfully eat here again.

This place is one of a dying breed — homey, reasonable, and great short-order fare. Isaac the cook, Sipreano the bus man, and Eunice the server greet all customers with a hearty welcome, most often by name. Breakfast any time! Conversations with the other patrons adds to the allure of this urban jewel.

We were in the neighborhood waiting for a woman to possibly buy her car, but she blew us off. Found this place when we got tired of waiting for her ass, and were so pleased. Delicious breakfast! Good coffee. Great pancakes, amazing french toast that tasted a little of tempura, perfectly cooked eggs! Service was a little slow, but it was well worth the wait, and we were in no hurry.

Love this place, their breakfast is off the hook. Been a customer for 18 years and they know their customers by name, even if it sounds funny. Lol. It’s local, family environment and inexpensive.

This is a pretty decent place for cheap eats. The couple that runs it is adorable and it’s your classic coffee shop. Everything kind of tastes like cleaning solution, but at least it’s clean?

One of the last coffee shops in the area with the best owners, Issiac and Eunice! They remember you and your name once you enter their coffee shop and welcome you with open arms! The food is conservatively priced and pretty good. Their theme is «A good breakfast will start the day right!» Breakfast specials are available from 8AM to 11AM. Eat in or take out. Open Monday thru Saturday, 8AM to 3:30PM. Closed Sundays. I highly recommend it!

When you think of a mom and pop café this is it. They remember all of there usual customers by name. Food is good, they use real breakfast meats and all. Not that bacon so thin you can see through. Nice pancakes good French toast, but surprisingly my favorite thing here are the GRITS!!! I didn’t eat grits until I started eating here. Hands down my favorite breakfast place. I couldn’t give it a five star because of the cash only thing.
