Ate hear last night. I t was good but just doesn’t have the feel that the place that was here before(Tokyo Ice). Food was good, but nothing had a flare that made this place have any one thing above any other average sushi bar. So if you are looking for a good sushi place, this is it if you don’t want anything more than your standard sushi.

*Don’t forget to check-in for your free edamame! There is parking in the back here, but don’t pass the entrance because the building next door has a garage where you parking! I got street parking and paid $ 0.25÷15 mins up until 8 pm. This restaurant is located south of the hospital. This place has the best service; the employees here are all SUPER nice. Everything comes quickly and is made well. The rolls here are fairly cheap for sushi. I got the Lion King roll and the California Roll; both standards. Granted, it’s not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but they were pretty good; I like that they don’t have an abundance of rice on any of their rolls. I also loved that this place takes your picture and puts it up on the wall. Talk about leaving your mark(though when we did come, they were out of film). I’d definitely be back for the great service and good sushi. They even sang happy birthday and brought out some tempura green tea ice cream for the celebrant!

My 4 star review was for Moolgogi. I’ve been afraid to visit because I really loved it and could tell from the new menu, Sushi Ajito is nothing like Moolgogi. The biggest let down was the spicy albacore roll, which is usually my go-to, favorite roll. It was just albacore mixed with a TON of sriracha. It didn’t have the chili oil taste, which tastes much better with albacore. They should at least use spicy mayo to tone it down, all you could taste was sriracha and the picture I posted can give you a hint of that. The other rolls were ‘standard’. Nothing inventive or creative like Moolgogi used to offer. I hope someone reads this and has info on the owners, I need to find them so I can have my Dynamite handroll and albacore flower! So sad they had to change owners. Sorry, back to Sushi Ajito… The service was amazing. Our waitress was so nice and pleasant, one of the stars is for her alone! We took a few rolls home and she even asked«…was everything okay with them?» I’ve never really had a server ask that, they don’t want to deal with any issues. Ha. So I thought that was sweet of her to ask and she really cared about how we felt about the food. Those specific rolls were fine, I just like to have leftovers.(No raw fish, ew. Just avocado rolls and shrimp tempura) I won’t be coming back though, it didn’t hit the spot. I’m gonna go cry now, missing Moolgogi. ;(haaha

I really wanted to give Sushi Ajito 4 – 5 stars. I was greeted enthusiastically. The service was so prompt and attentive. I ordered the albacore tuna salad, which was a very generous portion. It had copious amount of fish, but I had doubts as to the identity of the fish. The way the fish was cut was extremely unappetizing. I liked the salad, but the overall presentation was poor.

So I saw a $ 40 worth of food for $ 20.00GROUPON last year and I hopped on it like white on rice. Actually bought 2 and have been here 3 times. Think I went the day before my bday with my family… happy hour status, and then I came once solo to consume $ 40 worth of sushi all by myself and then a final trip I placed an order over the phone for $ 40 worth of sushi to go on my lunch break, which was sooo much that I shared it with co-workers. — — — — — - LOCATION — — — — — - It’s on Ventura Blvd in Encino in between Haskell and Hayvenhurst. Right next to Maki Sushi… it used to be ANOTHER sushi place that Jeff, Heather and Linda all told me about that I planned on checking out BUT it went out of business and was replaced by Moolgogi. There’s a nice patio section on Ventura Blvd. which I like… however since it’s technically outside of the restaurant, they can’t serve alcohol out there :-/ — — — — — - THEFOOD — — — — — - DYNAMITEHANDROLL — This was one of their most popular items. Definitely a bargain on their happy hour menu. I’ve got it 2 of my 3 trips here. It’s a white sesame wrapped handroll, drynamite sauce and I think it was crab? Been awhile. Really good. Small but efficient.((TNotWSSaid)) Must get. It’s probably a four, but couple the taste with price and it gets bumped up a point.(5⁄5) KUMAROLL — One of their more popular rolls. It’s yellowtail, salmon, crab and tuna with avocado and cucumber mixed in. There’s a spicy(wasabi) mayo sauce and 3 types of caviar atop which really makes this great.(5⁄5) PARMESEANBAKEDSCALLOP — It’s very small… but it’s pretty delicious. Theres parmesan atop a dynamite’ish sauce on the scallop which is still in shell that you can scoop out perfectly with a spoon.(5⁄5) SALMONCOLLAR — Honestly it’s just a big slab of cooked salmon. It’s think and juicy.(4⁄5) SPICYTUNABISCUIT — I tend to like this item in general, especially @ Octopus so I figured I’d try there’s since it’s only $ 5.50 and it was pretty solid. Loved the garnishings and the not-too-hot jalapeño atop was a nice touch.(4⁄5) SPECIALSPICYRAINBOWROLL — This was pretty awesome. It looks beautiful, presentation is awesome and it was a taste explosion! Shrimp, asparagus and cucumber topped with avocado, shrimp, yellowtail, whitefish, salmon and tuna.(4⁄5) SAPPORROBATTEREDCOCONUTSHRIMP — Shrimp is awesome. Coconut is awesome. Beer is awesome. Combine all 3… yay! It was really good however there was only 4 pieces of shrimp, which was pretty light. Came with a mango aoili sauce and I love aoili’s so I was happy about that.(4⁄5) CRUNCHYROLL — Crab, salmon, spicy tuna an
