This place is phenomenal! I love that 96¢ of every dollar I spend there goes straight to AIDS charity. The staff, the service, the vibe is outstanding in everyway. Ironically, their prices are lower than any other pharmacy I’ve found! I really love this place!

Yes we should be getting meds at a place where the profit goes to help people. But, watch your refills here. I’ve been their customer since they opened their doors, and they’ve made several mistakes over time — one time giving me a psychotropic med instead of a cholesterol med. And, there’s no system to check to see if your doctor has okay’d refills — they just sorta wait around for the fax back. A good pharmacy checks and bugs the doctor when no refill has come in. It’s too bad that, from a technical standpoint, they’re lacking. They should be great!

Yes, they’re non profit. Yes, they raise money for charity. But most importantly their staff are the most caring, responsive team I’ve ever dealt with. They remember my name when I stop by and are so nice you’d think they want something from you. They’re great, and will be getting my business as long as I live in the area.

Feeling sick, and a little charitable? Have I got just the place for you! Ninety six cents – that is, ninety six percent! – of every dollar spent at AHF Pharmacy goes to HIV care. What does that mean? When you fill a prescription or buy a pharmaceutical item here, all but four cents per dollar goes to helping people with HIV – that’s a lot of money for a pretty good cause. This is something even I can get behind; though I typically don’t believe in being helpful, or friendly, or charitable, or cheerful or chipper or nice or anything remotely close to pleasant, the idea that I can be all these things while still benefiting myself* pleases me to no end. One gripe, and the only thing that keeps AHF Pharmacy from reaching it’s full five-star potential: prices here are ever-so-slightly higher than at chain drugstores; a container of Airborne, for instance, sells for $ 7.98, slightly higher than at the nearby CVS – which, if you think about it, means that even more money is going to HIV research. Reconciling price and value is easy when you’ve got a social conscience. One amazing fact, and the one thing that makes AHF Pharmacy a four and a half/five star kind of place: the employees are friendly and helpful, plus they gave my boyfriend and I free bubble gum and coconut-flavored lip balm. Yowza. Four and a half/five stars! *I’m selfish, is all.

Here is a no-brainer question: If you’re going to spend money to fill a prescription and you could chose between a random place where your bucks go toward lining the pockets of companies OR a place where 96 cents out of EVERY dollar made goes towards helping people, which would you choose? Unbelievably, this is not some hypothetical scenario! AHF Pharmacy DOES use 96 cents out of every dollar made to care for and treat people living with HIV/AIDS. Why would you NOT fill your prescription here? Aside from the amazing work AHF does, the people who work here are so wonderfully kind and helpful. Every time I visit, I am greeted warmly and am well-attended. The first time I went was on a whim. I was getting a car wash next door and I had a prescription on me. I decided to kill two birds and headed over. The man behind the counter was so sweet but he could not find what I needed and apologized profusely. «No problem», I said and went back to the car wash. A few minutes later the man came running outside to tell me he kept looking and found they had my prescription after all. So nice! Every time since then, I’ve been in and out in less than five minutes. Quick service with a smile and your money goes towards a good cause. I ask again, why would you go anywhere else?
