I ordered from Agra Café last night and had an okay experience. The service was five star — it was quick, prompt and easy to order online through grubhub, and the delivery driver was very nice. The food, though, wasn’t the best — it was largely flavorless and a little lackluster. My gobi aloo would have been a lot better if it were at least the medium spice level I ordered, but it was somehow less spicy than the mild chicken vindaloo I also ordered. I’ll probably try them again; maybe it was just an off day for the chef!

My all time favorite restaurant around LA. They have got a lot of food options to pick and no matter what you order, the quality and taste won’t disappoint you. The ambience looks lavish with paintings. The best part is that they treat their customers very well. Will definitely come back.

I’m home sick with an awful cold, which meant I did two things I never do: 1.) order delivery(I’d much rather go out if I’m out or cook if I’m in) and 2.) eat restaurant Indian food(no comparison with home-cooked). Agra Café is one of the few Indian restaurants I’ve found in the area that actually has non-homemade Indian food that I’ll eat. So I decided to order a vegetarian combo meal because I was craving some dal. Order comes and there’s NO raita. I’m upset because I was looking forward to dinner by this point, and I just really wanted some roti, dal, raita and chutney. That’s all. And without the raita, the entire combination falls apart, so I’m CRUSHED(I’m a tad bit dramatic when I’m sick). I call and let them know that the order came and there was no raita, which their combo comes with. They tell me, no, it actually doesn’t. And I say, if you look right here on the website, under combos, oh, um, wait, uh… nevermind. Sigh. Devastated! I now sound pathetic on the phone and apologize and ask if they can deliver raita, and the woman says that they can’t really send a delivery person out for a $ 2 item. Makes complete sense, so I dejectedly hang up and rue the fact that I haven’t gone grocery shopping and have no yogurt to make some at home. Two minutes later, I get a phone call from them. The woman says, I actually have a driver who is going out in that direction, and we can send you your raita. WHAT?! Who does that?!? Thank you dear woman who heard the notes of heartbreak in my voice and took pity on me. Fifteen minutes later, I have my raita & I haven’t eaten it yet because I’m just so grateful I have to write this review immediately. Thank you, Agra Café!

I went here because it’s close to my house and I wanted something easy and different. The service was friendly and fine I got a table upon walk in as they weren’t very busy for sit down I ordered the samosas and chicken masala. The samosas were over cooked to the point of being somewhat brown and a bit too crispy. They seemed to be almost a TJ’s special heat and eat product. When I relieved the masala I was hoping for better. The sauce was fine, even though I ordered medium spicy it had little or no spice at all(aka not savory), but again the chicken itself was over cooked and chewy as opposed to a tinder, delicate dish. I’m afraid that I can not recommend this restaurant unless your just in the mood to not care very much.

My favorite Indian Restaurant in the neighborhood. Really nice flavors in the chicken dishes, including Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma, Chicken Vindaloo, and Chicken Curry. Some of the most fresh garlic naan I’ve had. Very tasty Chicken Pakora as well. Nice atmosphere as well. I’m a regular, and a fan.

Watery korma, hour and 10 min delivery via Unilocal.Phone person had a hard time speaking English for change of order. Damp naan. Potato samosa was the best thing at a 3 star. I say naaaaa-n. Try somewhere else

If you can make good samosas, the rest usually falls into place. I did take out. Two orders of samosas. Here, the samosas were big, full of flavor, and $ 3.25 for two. They are made primarily with mashed peas and potatoes, with the crust being just a bit crunchy. The samosas are accompanied with a spicier green sauce, and a plum like sweeter sauce. The restaurant is poster stylish with a whiff of incense. «Unperishable» Matt is gracious. Lots of free parking.

This place seems like it was good then went went downhill. I come to this conclusion because I can’t otherwise explain the 4⁄5 average reviews and zagat emblem. The multiple four seater booths allow for good privacy and the décor is decent enough. However, the wait time is crazy long(45+min) despite it being under 25% capacity. Also the guy that took our order vanished afterwards! Once the food arrives, we find everything completely devoid of the spicy flavor one would expect for this fare. Although there are those can’t handle anything spicy, we asked specifically for«extra spicy.» Everything arrived the opposite. Finally it was a chore just having to get anyone’s attention as they seemed resentful just to be there. And because it was dead quiet, we had to listen to the loud lady taking phone orders. There’s much better stuff out here than this place.

Our waiter Sunny was a really nice and genuine guy. He was very attentive and made sure that we were comfortable throughout our stay at the restaurant. The food was great. Flavors came out well and it was not overwhelming in terms of heat. A great place to try! Thanks Sunny ;-)

The atmosphere is cute but sadly neither the food nor service are to par. We waited nearly an hour for our meal(lunch special) and it was really nothing to write home about. Also my mouth was tinted yellow all day? Food coloring? Strange.

The worst Indian food I have ever had! If u guys are good at a making food from a particular part of India better stick to it! Don’t screw up making other states recipes! U screwed up my craving for Indian food! Next time u make biryani better learn from south India especially hyderabad! If u can’t do it stop making it n disappointing people like us. If u’re an Indian n looking for authentic Indian food I recommend u not to have it here. I will regret for spending money on this restaurant.

Ok — I’m Indian(half) and grew up with great ethnic food. I am also a foodie who loves to cook and I’ve travelled all over the world sampling Indian food(London…). We stumbled across this place that is only blocks from our house as we were eating at a Sushi restaurant in the same mini mall at the corner of Sunset and Fountain. Absolutely fantastic food. We have been on numerous occasions for dinner and lunch and it’s some of the best ‘restaurant ’ Indian food I have ever had. Period. Standouts are the eggplant Bharta, Dhal, and the Lamb Vindaloo. Lunch is an amazing deal and it all comes on a metal ‘airplane’ tray with Nann and Raita. Delivery is extremely fast and equally as delicious. Go there. Eat. Enjoy. S

Service– I ordered delivery off of grubhub, when the driver arrived he was very nice but explained they were 5 miles away from where I lived!!! Very nice of them to still deliver The Food– I ordered the vegetable korma and it was sooooo fresh and packed with veggies. The spices were on point and afterwards I felt full and happy. The sauces that came with the dish were all once again very fresh. Full of flavor, and top quality. Very very happy with the quality of food. I have had extremely expensive 5 star blah blah Indian food and let me tell you the quality here is very top notch. The mango lassi was really fresh and tasted refreshing. Very happy with the food.

Kinda feeling like an overprotective boyfriend here since the reviews are across the board. I really like this place. Granted I’m a peasant and I order things that may be perceived as basic but regardless it’s very consistent and good. If you are a single person ordering Indian food, this is the spot. Their dinner special packages up everything without promising a $ 40 meal.(I tend to order a little of everything — and on grubhub that would normally equate to $ 40) dinner package solves for this. Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, any Biryani. Slash they also do grubhub or you can order in online and they’ll have it ready pretty quickly. Parking is avail right outfront(hello, thats amazing). Bonus points for hitting Jay’s Bar next door after for a beer.

This place is great. They are in a strip mall shared with a 7 – 11, so parking is a bit nuts, but they have a few dedicated parking spots. The atmosphere is somewhat formal and upscale, with dim lighting and actual paintings on the wall. I ordered the meat lovers combo(might not be the right name) and my wife ordered the vegetarian combo. She got the aloo gobi and the channa masala, and I got the chicken tikka. One thing we noticed was that all of the ingredients were incredibly fresh. The vegetables tasted like they were recently cut up and the chicken was moist and tender. I asked for my dish to be made hot and it was just the right level of heat(had to drink lots of water but I wasn’t dying). The naan was tasty and everything was delicious. Best part? The bill was under $ 25. Highly recommend this place.

Amazing food but shit service. Bad service on account of someone’s son. My friend and I ordered from Seamless’s app a couple of hours before closing. The food was delivered an hour before it closed(which was fine — it was within it’s allotted delivery time frame), but someone’s son from this restaurant decided to catch an attitude. He’s around 5“11, on the lanky side, and probably between 17 and 23⁄24 at most. He was polite over the phone when notifying us that he was outside, but as soon as he gave us our food in person, he literally said — «Ugh. I had to drive so far. You guys have must have been REALLY hungry.» But in a non joking and completely accusatory and exasperated sort of way. He looked highly annoyed. Agra Café is on Sunset. Our location was some 7 – 9 miles away and he was driving in the dead of night with no traffic. My guess is that he was«busy» drifting off or doing something cooler when his mom or his dad told him to get off his lazy ass and deliver one of their last orders for the night. I understand that delivering can get on your nerves at times, but your parents should have taught you to be courteous and not be a dickbag. Thanks for the food though. At least someone’s doing something right. The great food is what spared this review. However I’m hesitant to order from a place again with someone that mind blowingly disrespectful.

Their saag paneer was ok but the naan was awful. The thickness was very uneven, with some areas so thin that the warm naan broke up in my hand when I picked it up. The naan is also not seasoned with salt at all whatsoever. I’ve never had to salt naan before. Get your shit together! If I hadn’t gotten my food via delivery, I would have sent it back and asked for a refund.
