I had a really good experience here yesterday. I’ve been putting off iPhone ownership for FOREVER, and finally decided to buy one this week This particular location is the closest one to my house, so I just popped in. There was no line, and Oliver helped me right away. And how helpful he was. He broke down the particulars of several comparable rate plans, and patiently waited as I nervously hemmed and hawed and asked him to go over things again and again and again. I was concerned with getting the best value for my money and was afraid of getting screwed, but I left yesterday feeling like I had made the best decision possible. Apparently, this location is closing – this week, in fact – and the employees are being transfered to the Atwater location, so head over there instead.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Terrible terrible customer service. I’ve never experienced anything like this! I went in tonight to get my phone # changed and to apply a discount I had received. I had called earlier in the day, and the guy that answered was kind and said those things wouldn’t be a problem. When I walked in, the employees were both on their phones and not wanting to work. I told them what I needed help with, and they said the fax machine wasn’t working and that I could do it somewhere else. I asked them to try, and they thumbed through a binder for forever, found a number and punched it in. Someone answered, which they thought was really funny, and said the machine wasn’t working. Thanks. I said nevermind for now, but can you please change my phone number. They just looked at me and the guy named Oliver gave me so much sass it’s unbelievable. He said I could just call myself. I asked if he could help me since I was there already. So, finally he said we could do it but it will cost $ 36 dollars. I said I had no idea that was how it worked and had changed my number before without charge. He laughed at me and said ‘everyone knows that, except you!’. Just awful. He then asked me as though I had been lying, ‘when was this?!’ The girl just stood there smiling at him the whole time and stayed on her phone. I left after more insulting attitude was given and was so upset I forgot my keys on the counter. They didn’t even notice and when I came back to get them, they were on their phones AGAIN. Just awful.

The guys working here are down to earth. They took care of me really quick. One of them jumped in our conversation and started asking too many questions but i didnt mind.

Not bad for a local store… sometimes fast, sometimes slow.

every time i’ve been to this neighborhood AT&T authorized retailer on Vermont Ave, just south of franklin, I have received OUTSTANDINGCUSTOMERSERVICE and unexpected kindness and help!!! so far i’ve purchase my 3 last phones and accessories there, and every time i was helped beyond my expectations. just the other day i bought an iphone there, and Diana took the time not only to set my new phone up but also to sit down with me and show me patiently all the many new features!!! and i observed Daniela doing the same for another customer. These girls go WAYABOVETHECALLOFDUTY of customer service and are super helpful and accommodating. there is a reason why i keep confidently coming back to this store.

I always go here to upgrade my phones, I have 6 lines and upgrade all of them here every year. Recently, I went in to upgrade one of my phones in January and the manager was there, Michael. He took a lil over 2 hours to do my upgrade; he messed up my whole account setup, swapping numbers from primary holder and removing my unlimited texting. I got charged $ 2000 just for texting. He also did some other BS without my authorization which eliminated my upgrade in march and it had been moved to November. So I say why come here when its a total hassle. There are a million other AT&T stores out there.

I don’t know any of you readers, but just because you are a human, I feel I must help you. This store is awful. Please go to the Cingular/At&T store on Brand Blvd. Affordable Portables is not even an At&T store. They basically stole $ 70 from me. I was told that my 8 month old Blackberry did not work and that I would need to buy a new one($ 250-with a $ 100 rebate– so $ 150.00). I was also told I could get a full refund if I wanted to bring it back within 30 days. One day later my old phone started working and I brought back my new phone. They told me they had to charge me a 20 percent re-stocking fee– not of the price I paid which was $ 250 but of the retail price, which was $ 450! After much discussion, they decided to charge me 20 percent of $ 350! So I had to pay $ 70 to return a $ 150 phone. If you go to the real Cingular store on Brand, they will give you 100 percent back within 30 days and they probably will not misdiagnose your phone being broken. So why would anyone go here? Other problems with this store: sales team members eating while they wait on you(ice cream cones, sandwiches, etc), lying, incompetent workers, poor equipment, general laziness and bad attitudes.
