The guy who runs this shop(Rob) he aint shit. He snitches on everybody and he is an asshole. Also everything in the store is over priced like way over priced! Also when you try to pay with loose change he freaks out. FUCKTHISSTORE!!!

I live a block away from here and it is tempting to run here when I need something quickly. Unfortunately, the last three things that I have bought here have been expired by more than a year. Stale cereal, curdled mustard… this place is absolutely disgusting. Check the expiration dates, or better yet– just go someplace else.

I understand this is a larger market close to the Historic Core and likely to have items you need in a pinch BUT… those cake slices in the front staring out at you? BEWARE!!! seriously, don’t eat the cake slices that are in the refrigerator unit facing the sidewalk. they may look good but be warned. no expiration dates on them and you will be puking your guts out. Food poisoning is no bueno.

They have great fresh fruit, mango’s, pineapples and pomegranates my favorite. I also like that they provide friendly service and happy staff. It’s late at night and I need to get something light and they have it, so very convenient and I live on Spring Street so it is very convenient. Wish we had more markets like this with great attitude.

love this place, across from my house, open a lot, and everyone who works there is friendly, remembers me, and never judges my midnight ice cream & junk food runs lol :) i do wish they would get sour cream and onion lays though: D

I guess this has become«trendy.» Get a hint folks. Trendy also means paying more for something than it’s worth. Everything, and I mean everything in the store ends with 99 cents. That’s a red flag for anyone who cares to pay attention. Granted, the place looks nice and the staff are friendly, but you are taking it up the old wazoo if you go in there to shop. Save your money and walk a few steps in either direction for better deals on the exact same products.

Where else can you get your«LA Awesome!» brand products? Bought LA Awesome knock off Fabreeze for $ 2.00. AWESOME! It’s a great convenience store that’s well kept and has a great variety of products, including Nag Champa, Boar’s Head hot dogs, and coconut butter crackers. TRYTHIS: Take a coconut butter cracker, smear some Nutella on that thing, add some banana slices. BOOM. Happiness.

While was a resident at the SB lofts on 5th and Spring, I’d always visit this market for random drinks, snacks and cigarettes. I just love this place because it’s family owned and the old man who is always wearing a hat is always so happy. He gives the regulars free candy almost every time and even lets you take groceries without paying because he knows you’ll be back to pay your tab. It truly is a community living in DTLA… and places as simple as 6th street market is what is all about. FYI if the owner is reading this, it’s the Asian boy with the crazy Asian sister :]

Convenient for DTLA-ers if you don’t feel like hitting up a big department or grocery store. Everything from fresh cut up fruit, household items(detergent, toilet paper, etc), drinks of all sorts, pre packaged desserts, chips, smokes, cereal, milk & eggs… you name — this place has it. Prices might be a little steep but it’s convenience you’re paying for.

This is the more spacious of the two convenience markets on the SW corner of 6th& Spring(this is on the 6th Street side; Market on A Spring is on the Spring Street side.) It has a little bit bigger and slightly more high-end selection than the other, however, the prices also seem a bit higher to me. I usually go here when the other doesn’t have what I need. This market has mainly dry goods, a lot of refrigerator cases, some meat and cheese, some frozen goods and ice cream. It stocks a slightly larger selection of dry goods(everything from balsamic vinegar to soy milk) than the other small markets. Very clean and nicely laid out. Neither of these markets at 6th& Spring sell beer, wine or alcohol. For still higher-end selection in a local market, walk one block north to Two Bits Market(SW corner of 5th& Spring on the 5th Street side) or one block east and two blocks north to the longtime, pioneering Old Bank District Market at 4th& Main(Main St. side.) Two Bits Market has a great produce section and a high-end deli meat and cheese counter, along with a small selection of mostly gourmet dry goods, beer and wine. Old Bank District has a good selection of dry goods, trending towards gourmet but also some essentials, plus high-end pet food, lots of prepared foods, a Boar’s Head deli, and a strong beer and wine selection. In short, the markets at 6th& Spring are generally best for dry goods/household essentials, and the markets at 5th& Spring and 4th& Main are better for perishables and alcohol.
