My fiancé and I had been shopping around for wedding bands in various stores in the Bay and in Arkansas and were severely disappointed in our options until we came to Earthworks. They have a unique selection of handcrafted jewelry and Candace showed us a Todd Reed ring that we both fell in love with. My fiancé ordered a ring as shown in the display while I ordered a customized narrower version of it and Candace was extremely helpful in getting us the information(sketches, pricing, etc) that we needed to make this transaction happen even though we live outside of CA. Yes the prices are $$$$ but the customer service was great and we love our rings!

After searching all over the place for wedding bands without much success, my fiancé and I stumbled upon this little shop. We loved the original designs and variety there!!! Finally we found rings that we were excited about instead of just seeing countless possibilities that didn’t really jump out at us as the«right» ones. The lady who helped us was helpful, but a bit pushy, which is why I feel like four stars are more appropriate than five. It seemed to me that she was trying a bit too hard. On the other hand, she was knowledgeable and able to rush our order for us. We are eternally grateful!!!

My husband and I are huge fans of Earthworks in downtown Los Altos! About two months before Christmas, I found out about a jewelry designer – Alexis Bittar. I saw the Bittar selection in Earthworks’ window one day while I was grabbing a coffee next door at Starbucks. I told my husband about the selection(and also mentioned it to him on Facebook with a link to the piece I really liked). Next thing I know, I had a few pieces from Earthworks for our wedding anniversary! I love it! My husband said that they were extremely helpful and gracious. Around the same timeframe, we found a ring in Carmel that matched my set and so we purchased it. 5 days later, I was in Carmel with an out-of-town visitor looking at properties, and took the ring back to the same boutique as one of the rhinestones missing. The boutique would not even talk to me about exchanging it or taking it back. There were no exceptions on their no return policy – even though I literally only purchased it 5 days previously. Not knowing where to turn, I took it into Earthworks and explained to them that it was not purchased in their store. They remembered my husband and said that they would talk with their Bittar rep to either get the ring replaced or have it properly repaired. There was no turning me away or anything like that. They were happy to help, and so they have earned our business more than once. By the way, not only do I love Bittar, I also am very found of many of the other pieces in Earthworks. I highly recommend them!

We stopped in to have a diamond set in a custom ring(that we hoped we would design or buy here). The sales lady told us many reasons why we should go elsewhere. Insurance, breaking our stone, warranty coverage etc. She discouraged us. What an odd place. It’s common to put a family diamond into a new custom setting, but we felt turned away. We went to a great shop in San Carlos that is making our ring. Earthworks has some unique things, but if you want engagement diamonds set, custom rings or the like made, our experience says go elsewhere…

In addition to electic jewelry geared towards discerning buyers, Earthworks also has wonderful artisan ceramics, wood boxes, glassworks etc.
