Inova Emergency Care Center – Lorton

Had I done this review yesterday they would have received 5 stars. My 2 year old fell at my grandma’s house and ended up having a fractured tibia. We were seen quickly and all of the staff was caring, professional, knowledgable, and helpful. I gave them amazing reviews on their internal reviews. They didn’t give my son a pain prescription because he seemed like it wasn’t bothering him as long as he didn’t stand. Flash forward to today and I call because he had a miserable night. The Tylenol would only last about 1.5−2 hours and you aren’t supposed to give it that often. However, with a toddler saying «ow, mama, ow. Ow boo boo. Mama. Ow»…you give the Tylenol. They wouldn’t call in anything even enough for 1 night until he could see the ortho. tomorrow because the Dr that saw him wasn’t working. I asked if they could call him or have another Dr look at his charts and see his broken leg and they said no, but I was welcome to bring him in again and pay for another ER visit. I understand pain medicine isn’t something that should be given out freely and without warrant, but my son was in pain and even his pediatrician said another ER Dr could have viewed his records and called something in. I am completely dissatisfied in their lack of compassion for my son in that regard.

Got seen very quickly. All the medical professionals were so caring. The X-​ray tech, doctor and nurses seemed genuinely interested in making me feel better and took care to introduce themselves and let me know who they were handing over to at shift change. I’m impressed with the quality of care I received.
