Great food, great service!!! Love this place. Meat or fish is always perfectly cooked. The restaurant layout can easily handle last minute large groups.

Terrible food and service… food came out 40 minutes late and it was cold. Chicken was dry, ribs was tough and sausage tasted like $ 1 sausage i could’ve bought from Safeway.

I decided to try this place because it’s near where I work and I will almost certainly never come back. When I came they told me they had a brunch buffet for $ 20. Not interested in paying so much for basically catering, I asked to see a menu. That’s when I was told they couldn’t serve off the menu during the time I was there and the brunch buffet was the only option. Instead of leaving, I played ball and tried it. Some stuff was okay, but most things — namely the chicken and salmon — were dry and overcooked. What’s more though is the service. The hostess failed to mention you basically had one dining options upon entering, and when I asked for some of the beer fillet at the carving table, the first thing the man did is walk away and ask the kitchen if there was more even though there was probably three pounds of meat in front of him. And it seemingly didn’t matter after he served up two of the smallest pieces I’ve ever seen. Nothing like being served rations at $ 20 a pop. Like I said, barring unforeseen circumstances, I won’t be coming back.

The Italian joint that was on the corner across from this place is now closed so what was I to do? I checked reviews of the places around and with hesitation, decided to give this place a shot. To start, we were greeted and seated immediately. We had our waters quickly and the server was very, very nice. I ordered the chicken and bacon sandwich and it was delicious. The triple mash potatoes were damn good as well but one of the three potatoes is sweet potato which caught me off guard. My other half had a grilled cheese with tomato basil soup. the soup was very thin and almost grainy because the cheese wasn’t all the way melted in it. That aside, it was delicious. We expected fresh basil though and it was dried, but again, still delicious. The grilled cheese was good but she found the Texas toast too thick(I didn’t). But the cheese got hard very quickly. For beer lovers, the selection wasn’t bad. It was expensive though. It was 6 something for an Old Bust Head and 11 for a Gulden Draak. Still, not a bad selection. I will definitly give this place another shot.

What a great place we have recently discovered?! I like the design and atmosphere! its located really close to my work, so its a nice restaurant for Friday dinner) The service was good, the food(i ordered drilled salmon salad) was so yammy. I think they have very fair prices for the size of dishes they serve. I also like the idea having a Sunday brunch. I will be coming for one of this brunches really soon. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant. Oh yes, and the smell of the smoked meet is amazing and you can feel it even from the outside.

Really surprised this place have only 3 stars. I don’t know why people rate it like that but for me its 5 star. They meet us with smile, sit us on the place we want. Waitress were really nice. So i cant really complain. Look at this appetizer. Its so big i even cant handle it. LoL.

Every meal I have had her has been consistently good. Food quality is consistent, service is good, décor and environment is nice. All that said, it is not exceptional. It is consistently good, but that’s it. It is the kind of place you go and say, «that was good» but you aren’t compelled to go back. They need to diversify the menu, or try some new things to bring people in. It is rarely busy… maybe expand the bar area and serve a better menu of bar food… maybe they can catch the evening VRE crowd with a good happy hour, or ½ price appetizers with a VRE ticket. It feels like a wasted opportunity… it’s a great location, facility, excellent chef. It would be exciting to see some innovation in management to do something great with the place.

We wanted to have a nice casual dinner after a long week. It’s the first time I have been and was very pleased. The Parmesan crusted salmon was delicious. It was supposed to be served on top of a lobster sauce. It actually came with sauce on the plate and on top of the salmon. It didn’t need it and I took it off. It was perfectly prepared and would gladly order again. My husbands sirloin was tender and flavorful as well. The bread was warm and served with an herb butter that we liked so much we asked for a second round of bread. Our server very polite, cheerful and attentive. Will be returning to try other selections on the menu.

Fireside Grill is a favorite restaurant of my parents. My husband and I have eaten here with my parents several times over the years and I still can’t understand some of the«mediocre» reviews for this place. We last went with my parents on Christmas Eve for dinner. Parking was easy and we found a spot near the front door. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays which was pretty festive and added to the holiday spirit. The restaurant was about half full for early dinner at 6PM and the bar was pretty full even by the time we left around 9PM. We had reservations but there was no wait for a table. I didn’t pay much attention to the wine list since I was designated driver for the evening. My husband said it was very well-priced with a number of good wines. The owner came out to say hello to my parents. That’s a perk that you get when you’re a regular at a locally-owned restaurant. He mentioned that he’d been cutting some very nice steaks in the kitchen earlier. That works for me, so I ordered the Steak Salad with medium rare steak. A couple of other dishes caught my eye, too. My husband and I cook a lot so we are not always impressed with restaurant food that we can usually make better at home. Fireside Grill is different. The ingredients are organic and local so that is a huge plus for both of us. Their house-aged beef is always tastier than regular beef. So much restaurant food is so poorly made these days — premade commissary-style frozen food that’s heated up as ordered — and not particularly healthy either. We ordered the Spinach Artichoke Dip appetizer to share amongst the four of us. That was tasty with a nice golden brown parmesan crust on top of creamy spinach dip and flatbread crisps for dipping. The dip disappeared pretty quickly as an indication that it was delicious. My beautifully-presented Steak Salad arrived with my steak cooked medium rare as I’d requested. The dressing on the«wedge» salad was a honey mustard which was a nice surprise since it’s usually a bleu cheese dressing. Bleu cheese crumbles, diced tomato, and crumbled crispy bacon were sprinkled on and around the wedge with the steak sliced on top. It was an excellent salad with well-seasoned and properly cooked melt-in-your-mouth steak. I would definitely order it again. We didn’t order dessert as we were headed back to my parents’ house to open our gifts. The service was just fine. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive. She took our orders correctly and checked on us throughout the meal. She was pleasant and knew the menu well which is something that I like a lot. The owner came out a second time to ensure our meals were satisfying and cooked properly. Again, a nice touch. On previous visits, I’ve ordered flatbreads and also a chicken portobello pasta dish which were all very good. I remember ordering a salad with chicken in the past but that doesn’t appear to be on the menu now. My only complaint is that my back was to the larger part of the restaurant and I was having trouble hearing my husband’s and my parents’ conversation. The bar music was fairly loud which added to the acoustics being not so great and I was facing the bar area. My hearing is fine so I just chalked it up to the table location being near the bar and the festive holiday music. Also, and it’s a pet peeve of mine which might not bother others, the table rocked a bit which wasn’t a table foot problem but probably needed to be tighened underneath where the table meets the base. Again, just a pet peeve to have a rocky table. Still, I don’t quite understand the mediocre reviews. It’s possible that the clientele is expecting something more like Cheesecake Factory or another national chain restaurant’s overly salted and overly seasoned food. Goodness knows, there are a lot of those options in this area. Become a regular and keep our local small businesses in business rather than the national chains. I am giving four stars instead of five just for the acoustics and having trouble hearing my dinner party. We’ll be back again for sure.

With our in-laws in town, we headed out for a quick family dinner at Pane E Vino, only to find it boarded up. So we opted for the other restaurant in the square, Fireside Grill. The place was basically empty, yet they squeezed us between two other parties. I don’t know why restaurants do this. If you’ve got space, use it, especially when a party of eight shows up with little kids. Our server was wonderful. I think her name was Angel. She gave great suggestions and was very attentive. As far as the food goes, I had the margarita flatbread, which was little more than unripe tomatoes smothered with fresh mozzarella on a burnt tortilla. I guess everyone else liked their food. No one complained, but no one seemed especially pleased, either. They had a decent selection of beer on tap, and it’s easy to find parking, so they’ve got that going for them. I miss Pane E Vino.

Acoustics are the only point off. Presentation and menu are much better than expected for a neighborhood restaurant, worth the short walk from Lorton Station. Ample parking behind. Attentive and helpful staff, prompt service, and tasty steak will have me coming back.

Went there a couple times, wasn’t super impressed with any of their selections and it was a bit costly. I probably won’t go back any time soon even though I live on the same street and it would be super convenient.

A delicious trip! I am so glad to have decided to check out the local restaurants around my new place in Lorton and bump into Fireside Grill. Prepare your taste bud and senses for delicious artisan & upscale looking platters, without hurting your wallet too much. Our check was around $ 60 for 2 people that included a Starter(Delicious) + 2 Entrees(Umami) + 2 Smoothies(Lipsmack) + a Cute mini dessert(Nom). Boy were our tummies happy. Will definitely go back there, will try to aim for the all you can eat Sunday brunch.

I’m pretty generous with my star rating usually and try not to go below three stars unless the place was awful. This restaurant is a perfect example of what I rate as three stars. Forgettable but with some good stuff, meh service, really big but mostly empty on a Saturday, and just benefits from the location and nice patio but probably won’t be around too long. Having said that the food actually wasn’t bad. I say forgettable because I went a week ago and literally had to go to the online menu to remember what was ordered. And still can’t fully remember. What I do know is that I left thinking the prices weren’t outrageous and the food was satisfying. The fish tacos were actually excellent with good seasoning and not overcooked. The toppings went very well also. The Spanish rice side was well cooked also. The bread and spread that came out was surprisingly good. The shrimp saganaki was weird, something about the cheese combo and sauce didn’t fit. And the other thing we ordered wasn’t very good because for the life of me I can’t remember what it was. So some pluses and minuses, the Italian place nearby is better but more pricey and this isn’t a bad alternative. There really should be more restaurants in the Lorton town center like most town centers.

Nice atmosphere and the server was polite although he never smiled. I went here with my wife on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy a nice dinner. I ordered the free range chicken breast which was very bland and seemed unseasoned. My spinach with bacon was mushy and swimming in a pool of liquid and my asparagus cooked in garlic butter just like steamed plain ol’ steamed asparagus. I added salt and pepper but it could only help out so much. On to my wife’s «salad.» this was just a solid piece of romaine lettuce with a chicken breast and tomatoes on top. THEYDIDNTEVENCHOPUPTHELETTUCE!!! If I wanted a head of lettuce I would go to a grocery store. This place charges $ 17 – 20 a dish like it’s a prestigious restaurant with high quality food. Maybe the food is high quality but the flavor is severely lacking. I eat at quality restaurants in D.C. and this doesn’t hold a candle to them. They have the same foods as those restaurants but the flavor is on the opposite end of the spectrum. I wish I had a better experience as this is close to my house and in a nice area with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience. Thanks, Sean

FIVE stars! I was craving some grilled food and I accidentally stumbled upon this place on Unilocal while looking for a place to have dinner at. The place is very easy to find and there’s plenty of parking spaces in the back street. It’s spacious with lots of places to sit(booths and tables) and they also have tables outside if you want to dine in open air. There’re a lot of items to pick from in their menu. Too many good stuff, but I had to make a decision and pick only one, which is sad :(. We started with the Sesame Crusted Ahi tuna with plum & Sriracha sauces, it was so gooood. We asked for the Tuna to be well done, though. I went for the Shrimp and Scallops in Lobster Sauce for an entrée. I really didn’t want to finish that plate because it was D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S. One of the best pasta plates I’ve ever had! Yes, EVER. My fiancé had the Seafood Thai Style dinner plate, and of course I had to try some of it, It was deliciously FLAVORFUL! The Thai curry sauce is is what gives this plate its special taste. I’m glad I found out about this place. Everything was delicious and our waitress was friendly, welcoming, quick, and courteous. Definitely going back to try more plates.

Ok. Thank you to the manager who took the time to respond to my review. Also, thank you for making suggestions on certain dishes to try out. Thank you also for being kind and professional.(I’ve been ripped a new one before from other management for my «honest» reviews). Anyway, I’ve come back several times. Those times I did NOT order the ahi tuna. =) First time back since my last review was for lunch. I took the manager’s suggestion and ordered the tilapia tacos. Presentation was nice and they actually looked yummy. They actually weren’t bad. But me being the San Diego snob(where I have not come across a place with better tasting fish tacos), they weren’t the best. The tilapia to slaw ratio inside the tacos were a bit disappointing. I had a ton load of slaw, and a tiny piece of tilapia in each taco. Flavors were not bad though. Thanks for the recommendation. I may give these another shot. Second time back since my last review was with the boy. I wasn’t too hungry so I ordered a chicken salad with balsamic dressing and he ordered the ribs. Even though I just got the salad, I thought it was delicious? Why? The balsamic dressing is probably the best tasting balsamic dressing I’ve had. Serious. Who would have thought? Yeah I know. I get excited over salad dressing. But I eat a lot of salads. SOmething’s gotta balance out all the other«not so good for you foods» I consume.(Or so I like to tell myself…) I didn’t get to try any of the ribs because the boy ate them so fast. So I take that as being good. =) Third time back was with coworkers. Oh you better believe after a loonnnggg week of work, we were ready to hit those cocktails. As I’ve mentioned before in my last reviews, the cocktails are REALLY good. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit outside. I ordered the cucumber cocktail(because who doesn’t LOVE Hendrik’s Gin – not many places have Hendrick’s gin so Two thumbs up Fireside Grill for having this). It was DELICIOUS!!! SO good that my coworkers kept stealing sips of my drink until I had to tell them to get their own! We started off with the quesidillas. Those are actually good. Main entrees we all ordered the flatbread pizzas. I for the steak and cheese, co worker 1 got the mushroom one and coworker 2 got the margharita. We each ate off each other’s plates and they were not bad. For some reason my crust was really soggy, but whatever. I’ll try it again and ask them to make the crust extra crispy or «well done». Service was superb as always all those times. Thanks again Mr Manager for responding back and your suggestions. We came, we tried(again), and we will come back again. this time for both the food and drinks. But I probably won’t get the ahi tuna. =)

Fireside grill is a good neighborhood place — not MY neighborhood, but my friend’s :) This place is spacious, comfortable, and casual. It has a pretty big bar area that seems like it takes up half the space — and that’s the area I like to be in for happy hours or just grabbing some lunch or dinner. The service is good and friendly. The food I’ve had have ranged from different kinds of flat breads to their pot roast. Everything has been good — and if you’re really hungry and need comfort food, the pot roast is a must. The meat is tender, the sauce is so flavorful, and the veggies are so good. Also, their bread basket and their flavored butter are nom.
