My husband and I just attended the bi-annual log home building seminar put on by the fine folks at Satterwhite Log Homes. Y’all, these are some truly good people! We thoroughly enjoyed the seminar. Very informative for anyone planning to build a log home, or just curious about what alternatives are out there. This is a 2 day seminar. You spend the first half of the first day listening to the presentation by the owner/founder Sam Satterwhite. You get the history and rundown of the process. This is a completely family run business, mom, dad, kids and grans:). Everyone is very involved. This is a super group of people. You can see the pride in what they do in each and every one. The second half of day 1 is spent touring model homes. Some under construction and some completed. They have a fantastic range of homes to see, from small cabins, to large custom homes. Day 2 begins with an awesome buffet breakfast, then tour of the main office location. Thus is where the magic happens folks! We attended our choice of small«mini seminars» where we were able to learn about a variety of topics from financing/insuring a log home, to designs/land preparation for your dream log home! Catering was awesome! Breakfast, lunch and dinner day 1 and breakfast and lunch for day 2. They have personal relationships with the catering companies, supporting local business owners. The caterers were superb choices! If you think you may have a log home in your future, Satterwhite Log Homes is a top notch, quality, home builder.
