I could eat the crab as a main dish! First time to eat Red Snapper and loved it! Not fishy smelling or tasting at all. A perfect crunchy flavor. Veggies were soft and flavorful too!

This restaurant continues to be one of our favorites. Friendly staff, fresh food and a very clean/nice atmosphere. We chose the Sesame chicken &GZ Sushi roll tonight.

This was my first time here. The food was good but the service was horrible. My good took just shy of two hours for Sesame Chicken. Honestly would have left but was dining with friends.

Two stars for the ambience. The sashimi selection was not fresh and menu had no identity. Is this a Chinese restaurant, or Japanese restaurant or an Indian restaurant. Flummoxed, one might say. The prices are exorbitant for the quality of food being served. The staff is poorly trained as well.

Went to this restaurant while in town for work. I went with a group of coworkers and everyone enjoyed their meal and experience. I’m not a big advocate of Asian cuisine but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone. And I’m glad I did. The restaurant has a nice environment with nice décor and place settings. Would be a good date restaurant. The waitress was helpful and guided us to good meal and drink choices. My coworker ordered the sesame chicken with fried rice and she loved it. She enjoyed it so much that she continued to eat despite being full. Lol. My other coworker order the scallions dinner. She loved it and raved about the mashed potatoes. I order the Asian bowl with chicken and beef. The Asian bowl has rice on the bottom(I chose fried rice), mixed vegetables on top of the rice and then chicken and beef skewers on top of the mixed vegetables. It was great. The fried rice was great, mixed veggies were good and the chicken and beef were delicious. Would definitely recommend that entrée to anyone.

Really disappointed last night. We went to GZ’s because we found out they were doing chargrilled oysters. Being from New Orleans and a frequenter if Drago’s where the owner’s son perfected the chargrilled oysters, I couldn’t wait to try them! The oysters were very small, chewy, and a little fishy. Also there was very little topping and«charring» on the oysters. They were also $ 2.00 more than the wonderful New Orleans variety. I would gladly pay more if they were as good but these were not. I really was hoping that they were. The other thing I got was lettuce wraps. That was really not good at all. The dipping sauce was thick and powerful which was in the meat too. It was as if it was a concentrate they were supposed to thin out with soy sauce but used the concentrate full strength. I will stick with PF Chang’s for my lettuce wraps when I visit Dallas and New Orleans. Sorry GZ’s we really wanted to like it last night! My husband’s sushi was fine but a little pricey.

My experience at GZ was average. The fried rice was burned & had little flavor. Our sushi rolls had about ½ an inch of rice & little fish inside. The calamari smelled & tasted overly fishy, which normally indicates it’s not fresh. Pad Thai was so creamy, I actually think they may have melted peanut butter into it. Just not good. I was really looking forward to trying it, having read good things, but if you are looking for sushi, head to Fuji.

I had a recommendation to try Goung Zhou while in Longview on business, and I’m so glad that I did! I will agree with others that it was pricey, but it was oh so good that I(almost) didn’t mind! I tried the calamari as an appetizer. Very different from standard presentation, but very delicious. I also had salmon sushi with the calamari, and it was very good as well. For an entrée I tried the jumbo sea scallops. Oh. My. Word. They totally blew my budget, but they were delicious! They were perfectly cooked and seasoned and practically melted in my mouth. I would have never thought of serving mashed potatoes with scallops, but trust me… it works. They also had a nice little wine list. All in all, a great place to try out if your budget allows. It definitely couldn’t be an everyday place for me. With 2 glasses of wine and tip my total was over $ 70. I have to say that is a bit over the top. And one of the reasons I won’t go 5 full stars. The second reason is the profanity I heard coming from the kitchen. I sat in an area that had an open window section into the kitchen. Apparently someone in the back was on the phone and unhappy about something… a delivery order… I heard way more of the conversation than I should have as a customer, and the profanity that peppered it was not acceptable. If I’m paying this much money for dinner it should not be disturbed by an incidence such as that.

Mr. David and Mrs. Pat run a great place. The food is consistently good and the staff is always professional and friendly. The bar also does a nice job with mixed drinks. My wife and I routinely compare other Asian experiences with GZ’s. Most of the time, they are rarely on par. They have been a part of the Longview community for a long time. Hard to say which is better, the food or the great reception we get each time we eat there.

Best place to eat. Also offers the most class in this town! Rather looking for that place to take your first date or take the wife for a 20 year Anniversary GZ’s offers not only the best food but the most awesome atmosphere. Going out to get Cuisine is also about the atmosphere. To start out with the food is out of this world, usually Vegas, LA, or New York to find food of this standard. All the dishes or prepared to perfection and a wide variety to hit whatever your taste you desire from a traditional Chinese to a KobeSteak And their Duck is the BEST i have ever tasted, and if you are a vegetarian(my wife) they have great choice’s available. If Sushi is your thing«look no more» you are at the right place. Just pull up a chair at the colorful bar. Which will transform you to some big city atmosphere. And to top it off family owned and operated is the best thing I can say Patricia and David are there to make sure you have the BESTFOOD, SERVICE. And experience. Thumbs up to GZ’s. BESTALLAROUND!

This is quite possibly the best restaurant in Longview. Parking is good considering the location. Lunch can be difficult for parking because of the neighboring businesses but dinner is no problem. The service is excellent. The tables and floors are immaculate. GZ’s is expensive but I have never felt that it cost too much. The food is amazing. I am a picky eater. Often, when I go to a restaurant I leave feeling like I was charged too much for something I could have made just as well at home. This is a different story. The ingredients and presentation are top notch. Aged beef. Fresh fish. Everything is fresh and tasty. The restaurant has a great atmosphere. Go. You will be glad.

One of the better places to order sushi in Longview if you wanted to spend an arm and a leg. A lobster roll is $ 18. What? Are you serious? How can they get away with charging so much for a roll? That is the price you pay for a lobster tail not a friggin roll. I am sorry but no one in their right mind should be paying that much for a roll. This is Longview, not New York City. I will seek sushi elsewhere. Not because it’s not good — it is. But the prices are killer and not in a good way.
